The Voice Season 17 Redo

Hello. I’m going to redo Season 17 of The Voice. I’m using Microsoft Word’s spell check feature before I post any post in this redo, so it will be more enjoyable for y’all to read. Unlike most of Idolforums, I actually enjoyed this season. Sure the finale isn’t my cup of tea, but they’re all good contestants. Anyways I will be doing the format a bit differently compared to how they did it live.

 

1. The battle saves will be replaced by steals

 

2. I’m adding knockout steals

 

3. The live shows will have an additional few weeks

 

4. I’m replacing the coaches with four other coaches.

 

Also, while I will use some of the performances that actually happened on the show, I mostly will use my own song choice ideas, because this is a redo and I wanna give some of them some songs I think would be great for them. Also note that if I eliminate a contestant earlier than they lasted on the show, that does not mean I think they are bad or untalented. All of these top 48 contestants are good in their own way, so it mainly comes down to genre and tone preference to me. I also like the coaches this season but thought I’d switch it up in my redo. I’ll be revealing the coaches and teams between an hour from now and tomorrow afternoon. I will also set a schedule that I will stick to for when each show will be posted on here. I will also keep a safe copy of the shows just in case this topic gets deleted when the forum updates. Anyways, while I finish setting up the reveal, feel free to guess the 4 celebrities I will be using for coaches based on these hints:

 

1. This is actually a two coach chair modeled after foreign versions of the show. The celebrities here are sweet, but sometimes they’re labeled psycho, but they just shake it off.

 

2. She’s going to fight to win, no matter the consequences.

The other points of these threads is to give favorites you enjoyed who were eliminated earlier (especially before the lives), extra time and you can rearrange the format to your liking and also give contestants song choices you’d think they’d do well on. These threads have long existed on idol forums as early as S10 of idol if not earlier

Xfactor22’s The Voice U.S. Season Seventeen Redo-Episode 1: “Start With A Bang”

In my redo, The Voice has a higher budget, so we were able to get a green screen for the voice stage, as well as more wardrobe options.

 

1.

Ed Sheeran: That was a good performance. It was fun. That’s a tough decision.

 

Stevie Wonder: I loved both of you. Katie, your talent is so raw. Injoy, your personality shines through your performances. I wish I didn’t have to pick, but the winner is Katie Kadan.

 

 

All three of the remaining coaches attempt to steal Injoy. Injoy picks Ava Max/Taylor Swift

 

2.

 

Ava Max/Taylor Swift: That was beautiful (Ava). I know. It was so heartfelt (Taylor).

 

Stevie Wonder: I enjoyed this. You both have some serious pipes. I’m going to give this one to Steve.

 

Camila and Ed both press the steal button for Brooke. She chooses Ed Sheeran.

 

3.

Camila: That was a nice performance, but it didn’t hit home for me.

 

Ava Max/Taylor Swift: I have to agree. It was entertaining, but not my favorite performance of the night (Taylor). I actually enjoyed it a lot. Besides, I don’t think anyone tonight can compete with the previous two performances (Ava). We discussed it and we’re advancing Jared (Taylor).

 

4.

Stevie: I felt like Ricky did better, not that Matthew wasn’t good.

 

Camila: I enjoy both of you, but the victory goes to Ricky.

 

5.

Camila: I loved this

 

Ed: I think both of you capture the emotion of the song. It basically comes down to preference for me. I’m picking Destiny!

 

6.

Ava Max/Taylor Swift. Sing it queens (Ava). That’s what I’m talking about. Both of you brought it and sang a great song with a great message (Taylor).

 

Stevie: Both of you sang it well, but I’m going to have to go with the contestant who I can think of songs for. The winner is Rose.

 

 

My own explanations of why I advanced who: Katie, Injoy, and Rose are self-explanatory. Destiny had a great audition and battle in the real show, so I had to advance her to the knockouts. I enjoy Jared’s voice so I thought he deserved to advance to the knockouts. Ricky’s tone is great, which is why I moved him to the next round. Brooke and Steve do have pipes, so they should advance also. The contestants I didn’t advance are talented, but I have reasons for not advancing them. I didn’t advance James because his lane is way too similar to another one or two contestants I’ll be advancing later. Caroline didn’t advance because my redo would be to overloaded with rockers in the top 32 if I did. Matthew didn’t advance because I can’t think of any good song choices for him.

Ed Sheeran: WOW. That was special

 

Ava/Taylor: We enjoyed that. Both of you have distinct voices, so we’re gonna toss this up to preference. We pick Zoe.

Ed Sheeran and Stevie Wonder both attempt to steal Kiara. She picks Stevie.

 

2. Will Breman vs. Lauren Hall “Rewrite The Stars” (James Arthur and Anne-Marie version)

 

Stevie: That was a great performances. Will that song fits you like a glove.
