Wendy's chances at winning were slim from the beginning. It became impossible by Knockouts.

What's with this season? Tears everywhere. Not that that's bad, but I wonder how BTS was this season that we ended up with as many people getting emotional as we did.

I feel as if Paris actually did not deserve a finale spot. He is very talented, but I thought his T13-T10 performances were just okay for him. I could have said Wendy, but her pre-lives and T10/T8 did more for her than Paris's run did. If anyone is robbing Jershika/Joshua of a spot, it's definitely him. Also, Kelly's comments after Joshua's IS performance about him doing musical theater were on the dot. Literally from the start, I was thinking, why exactly is he on this show when his vocal talent is definitely better off anywhere else?

Lana actually bringing it and the production working hard to keep her down. Sheesh, what a hard run for her.

This can't be the reason that Sasha was more emphasized in their vocal performances.

The only true lock is GNT as per usual. Otherwise - Hailey (her challenge is to deliver the same quality as her studio here, and that's it) Wendy/Paris (if not for their song choices, I would have said Paris over Wendy) Joshua IMO Jim and Sasha have to depend on enough people going below par if they want a PV. If Lana is completely on top of what her studio recording outlined, she could maybe get a PV. Life is hard as a controversial contestant. Jershika is not getting a PV.

This isn't impossible. All they have to do is perform to a decent standard. Hell, she also has a combination of Joshua, Jershika, and Lana to potentially fight against.

Assuming it is a bottom 4 Instant Save (is it?), Joshua/Jershika. I am also prepared for them to perhaps beat Wendy if she cannot get a PV.

Jim and Sasha having consistently decent performance quality is pretty good. Besides that playoffs performance, nothing else has particularly merited sending them home. Holly had the entire backing of production on her side for a while and it was all wasted. Ryleigh had some good moments which made it all the more disappointing when you saw the show really wanted her gone.

They certainly didn’t lie. It’s funny that this show is committed to accurate results when it is so aggressively a reality TV production above all else. If they actually lied then this show would look very different. Lauren lost because of the insufferable standards and expectations set upon her as a young woman in country. Take that and it was also the Chris Blue season anyway. The expectations of a black female singer to be a powerhouse have incredibly racist/misogynistic backing in their development, and have also created an equally problematic expectation of them to exist within that specific space only. It’s stupid social pressure on Black Women when non-Black artists get to exist in a endless range of spaces and be seen as such. This standard has yielded some great performers/vocalists in the soul frame but it leaves way too many out. I don’t want to use my energy on imagining a Black Female could win, seeing as how the voters have a long history of misogynoir to unlearn. I think Jershika’s erroneous moments are far and few actually. If she wasn’t capable of consistent delivery she would not here (Shadale) and it shows. They’ve blatantly tried to take her out twice with Maneskin and Paramore, and all we got were pretty refreshing song choices with some nice vocals. She deserves a lot of merit for surviving on a season in which a lot of people were brutally taken out through song choices. Wendy’s commitment to the vocal chameleon thing I’m pretty sure is just poorly thought out because she’s been involved in R&B/Soul/Country in her time and that is exactly what has happened from her in her run. You could call Jershika and Hailey more chameleon than her at the moment. My biggest issue is her exhausted song choices leading to some flat performances. She’s been pretty sleepy until Jolene. I’ll give her a pass, seeing as how she probably didn’t expect to be tossed around in a production behemoth when she signed up for this show. Though I do wonder what she’s doing on this show. Is the extra clout from The Voice truly necessary for her?

Only one I know is gone is Lana. She likely can’t get a PV and will be done no favors in an instant save. I am imagining a freak scenario in which Jim and Sasha get a PV over Wendy, but that might be a bit too much to assume when she is on Team Blake. Assuming this Instant Save is a 4 way it really makes things confusing. TPTB don’t even necessarily have to choose between Joshua and Jershika, for example, since the only prerequisite is that they have to make Semis as opposed to Top 6. I suppose that performance order will come down to Monday’s voting results.

John sending Paris to Blake, because that has probably sent Wendy to #2 on Team Blake, when in other Blake Top 3’s she would have been solidly #1.
