I mean the whole season has been centered around Blake. I mean the first 10 minutes of tonight's show with Grace was "my last country artist, "last artist I turned for," "full circle moment," etc. Good forbid they try to even out the playing field and spread some of the attention, especially given that Grace closed just last week.

I don't think that's really true in 2023. Country music has closed the streaming gap a lot probably because iTunes and buying music is dead. I'm sure everyone is "getting with the times" with regards to the consumption of music. Plus, I would assume he has some type of fanbase outside of minivan. Anyways, a Colin win wouldn't be that shocking. The ABC era has shown me that going viral doesn't mean that much in the grand scheme of things...Alejandro, Arthur are all recent examples. Yeah, a lot of people might watch your videos, but are they actually voting when it counts, especially given how strong and predominant the country/minivan demographic is, especially given that both Noah and Chayce won the most recent seasons.

NOVAIS was interesting to say the least... Idk the song has been done too many times for me to be truly impressed by it unless it's flawless. Weak falsetto. It falls in line with the rest of the performances so far. No one has truly wowed me tonight tbh.

There's literally nothing interesting about Ray's voice. It was fine (runs were kind of messy), but I'll forget about it in 5 minutes.

I'm gonna be honest, I didn't care for We on The Voice which was why I was kind of like "whatever" when everyone was excited about her return (honestly felt that way about all The Voice alumni. None of them were exactly my favorites). She definitely improved on idol, mainly in stage presence and performing, but I think after both of her runs, I've pinpointed my issue with her. UO, but I don't find her to be a compelling ballad singer. She clearly hits all the notes, but idk, it always feels like she's going through the motions when she sings them. Now when she goes uptempo, you can tell that's more her element. I still go back to "Something's Got a Hold On Me" because something just clicked there. Even with "Edge of Midnight," she looked and performed like a star. Her hollywood original with everyone singing along etc. Those were her strongest performances. Other than Ain't No Way, none of her slower songs hit me, and it's probably cause Ain't No Way is a soul song which allowed her to "go off." Ali is one of my favorites contestants ever so it's definitely Ali > We in any scenario. Ali's problem on the Voice was song choice. Like none of her songs made sense. She sang a Dolly Parton song? I actually remember think two of the songs We sang that season should have gone to Ali: No More Drama and Love on the Brain. Funny because Ali ended up singing No More Drama on The Four. But like We, I think Ali was able to show more on her second TV appearance.

You could literally give DOMO to the last few winners (Chayce, Noah, Laine) and it probably would have turned out the same. Heck, you could have given to Oliver and Warren and it probably would have turned out the same as well. Iam, at least, doesn't sound like any contestants I've heard time and time again in the past even if people don't find him all that exciting. And unrelated, but I kind of feel like DOMO is one of those songs that can make anyone sound decent.

UO, but honestly, Ain't no way is her only ballad I was truly impressed by. I kind of think Skyfall and This Is Me were some of her weaker performance. I have nothing was objectively fine, but it's been so done to death and she didn't bring anything new to it. Idk I feel like Iam, Megan, and Collin are so locked in to their respective niches that merely doing a ballad, two Disney ballads at that, isn't really gonna cut it. The Climb is already a meh song choice so everything is riding on Into the Unknown.

Ryley is like my favorite by a large margin (like no one comes close probably cause I kind of don't like this season but that's another conversation lol) so I don't think his voice cracks are a big deal, but just like you said, you can tell they aren't intentional, which is understandable given his age and his voice is changing. It's interesting you thought it worked for the song because imo it came at the worst time in the song. It was way too noticeable to ignore or explain away as him being emotional especially since the performance had been great up until it happened. It wasn't as bad as his battle which I thought was his weakest by far. His blind audition is the only time his unintentional voice crack was well-placed.

It was great, but we went from people saying "Ryley is getting 90+ easily" to "well 86 is expected cause it's not a minivan song" (which is a reach in my opinion) w/ no mention of the voice crack (which could've reasonable affected people's perception of the overall performance). Just an interesting switched up.

Not people ignoring the voice crack and blaming the song choice. Ryley did great, but an 86% sounds reasonable. It wasn't perfect.

She definitely has a chance, but I think with the way the season is shaping up, people shouldn't be shocked if she does end up missing out. Megan has been gaining momentum, Iam is Iam. I think it just depends on Collin, but history is making me air on the side of he's probably getting enough votes to make the finale, but I could see him being swapped out for We.
