Just Around the Riverbend (Pocahontas) I really like this song but we are at Top 40 so it's time to get ticky tacky with things. And when it comes down to it, I think it's easier to get rid of Pocahontas songs for being part of a film I'm sure Disney will make go away like it did Song of the South in another 20 years than it is to get rid of a lot of other songs at this point. So my saves kind of went exactly as planned if you'd seen my noms the past few rounds. This is the "I want" song for Pocahontas. But when she's singing at this point in the movie we, and Pocahontas herself, don't know what she really wants. Just a nebulous "change." It just sucks that later in the movie the "I want" turns out to be like "I want to be colonized and live with my white husband in England." And when you put it that way, maybe we should have cut this about 100 songs ago.

Not surprised at the top 2. Both good choices. Also I was surprised when I was ranking that my own ranking of A Fantastic Woman ended up so low because I love that movie! Again, a very strong month!

I had a whole timeline at one point! Written out. It might be in this forum because I was clearly INVESTED. But yes. Jenna and Val started dating in Season 18. Season 19 you can actually follow along and see when they broke up. This lead Jenna to date some other dude and Val at least hooked up with Janel. They were back together and then broke up a second time (I need to figure out when that one was again) because then Jenna dated SYTYCD Brooklyn Fullmer's then current boyfriend (leading Brooklyn and Jenna to have a falling out obvy which made it very weird when they were both bridesmaids for Witney's wedding). Then they got back together. And then after a bout of depression, Val and Jenna finally came out as a couple. Long time.

LOL Val broke up with Jenna to hook up with Janel this season! Probably! Janel 100% broke up with her long-term boyfriend she had coming in to the show and I think this was the first of at least two Jenna/Val break-ups. @*Chris

not too surprised. I had a feeling a Japanese movie from 1950 might have a hard time getting any higher. Glad to see most people liked it though!

Haha. The funny thing is they could have just called this a hip-hop or a popping routine! And that would have been fine! I think it was more SYTYCD trying to seem like they were with the times.
