  1. "More Than a Band" from Lemonade Mouth I've already cut this song once so I am just copy-ing and pasting my write up. I think most if not all of my bring back songs have been cut again so I don't feel bad about cutting this one again. It's fine. Oh this is actually a sweet song. It's from the DCOM Lemonade Mouth and being a non-HSM, non-Cheetah Girls DCOM to me means like auto-elimination from this rankdown. In addition it's up against "What's This" and "When You Wish Upon a Star" so obviously it's getting cut. So sorry to this and to the Lemonade Mouth fans. But let's be real. As big a fan as you may be of Lemonade Mouth that cannot match how big a fan I am of Lesbian Jesus Hayley Kiyoko. I mean I have her whole discography imprinted in my brain. "Curious" is a legit banger and it makes probably every playlist I ever make. (Except the KPOP ones...this may also just be a sign that every playlist I make is GAY). She's dating a former Bachelor contestant (one day I can give you the WHOLE Tilley family rundown LOL). I listened to like multiple episodes of Becca Tilley's Grey's Anatomy and relationship themed podcast just for Hayley Kiyoko tidbits. I think Hayley Kiyoko paved the way for future out artists like Fletcher and Renee Rapp. I'm obsessed. Continue the lesbian tradition and put her in the next animated Disney musical! save: Best of Friends

  7. I've nominated like the same songs this entire game lol
  8. Daniel Durant Has he lasted this long because he's engaged to Britt? That's a serious question because I feel like he's the type of contestant we usually feel MEH on. A white guy who made the Top 5 of a recent-ish season. And I think like a clear distant 5th. I don't think that he could ever be considered as robbed of a spot in the finale. He's a fine dancer. He's a fine actor. But he's definitely a contestant I would have nominated when I got to my round if he had been left. Getting to the Top 100 every cut becomes hard and as the cast of celebs grows every year becomes more of an achievement around here. Maybe somebody can tell me why he's still around but I think it's really because people have been making petty noms and cuts and thus celebs like Daniel (and Nikki Glaser and others) can slip through the cracks because they are largely not targets and never would be considered one. Saving: Brandy

  10. Paige VanZant I think of this group of noms this is a pretty safe cut. Or rather, a cut that I wouldn't mind making in any set of nomination. Paige VanZant was a contestant on Season 22 of DWTS, paired with Mark, and was the runner-up behind Nyle. I don't know why until this moment that I had mixed up Paige in my mind with somebody else because I thought she was on a later season paired with Alan. Somebody figure out who I'm actually thinking of. Anyway, outside of the show Paige is a MMA fighter and an OnlyFans content creator. I actually don't know that much about MMA which is one of the few sports I don't watch (for various reasons) so I can't really tell you how Paige is as a fighter. She had a brief Pro Wrestling career. And it seems like she's kind of hung up the MMA career as well. IDK that much more about her. I'm not really interested in her at all. Saving: Laurie Hernandez
  11. Nikki Glaser Congrats Nikki for making it the longest for a first out in this edition of the rankdown. IDK if she's the longest lasting first out in this rankdown ever and I'm not checking to confirm. She's fine. I think I would have kept her longer than actual terrible people Mary Lou Retton and John Schneider but it's not like her first week elimination was a great loss to the sport of Dancing. Also she was paired with Gleb who I consider creatively bereft and sitting just above Sasha in pros that should have been replaced seasons ago. (My cousins and I did come to the conclusion though that Gleb is "Hot Hot" so he has that going for him). Nikki herself is fine. I don't think she has any controversies surrounding her. I liked her work as host of FBoy Island.
  12. REMAINING In a World of My Own (Alice in Wonderland) Take Me Away (Freaky Friday)
  13. Streets of Gold (Oliver & Company) Ruth Pointer? Great. Everything else about this might as well just take from my previous write-up on the other Oliver & Company song. Here's some hot takes on Oliver & Company. If it weren't a classic animated Disney movie everybody would treat this like they treat Wish. It's very bland, poorly animated, the music is MEH, and it doesn't hold up to other Disney classics. Even when you look at Disney's weirdest movies all collected this doesn't settle anywhere near them. There are movies I liked that are critically maligned (namely The Black Cauldron and Atlantis and Robin Hood) but those movies were interesting. This falls like above Chicken Little and Home on the Range as just movies that are MEH. Saving: He Mele No Lilo
  14. Where the Dream Takes You (Atlantis: The Lost Empire) I love the weirdo Disney period of the 2000s. I mean as you might be able to tell, because I keep choosing Stitch as my representative character in these Disney-themed rankdowns, Lilo & Stitch is one of my favorite Disney movies of all time. I mean it's the third longest time Disney has gone without introducing a Disney Princess (Aurora to Ariel was 30 years! Snow White to Cinderella was 13 years. I chalk that up to Disney not yet figuring out Disney Princesses were pretty much guaranteed $$$). And I guess technicalities will tell me that Kida was originally considered a Disney Princess but Atlantis is very much NOT a Disney princess movie. It's also the first of Disney's forays to Science-Fiction. Anyway, all this to say that this song is a bit of a nothing. Again, Atlantis isn't a musical movie. In fact this song only exists because the marketing department was like "Hey we need a song in the end credits at least." And they were like "okay sure." And this is peak end credits song. It barely connects to the movie and is entirely forgettable. I think if it didn't have "Atlantis" in front of it (and Mya singing it), it would easily be gone by now. Saving: He Mele No Lilo
  15. Cut: Streets of Gold (Oliver & Company) Cut: Where the Dream Takes You (Atlantis: The Lost Empire) Save: He Mele No Lilo (Lilo & Stitch)
  16. Perfect World (The Emperor's New Groove) Love to do a THIRD write-up. Like everybody here, I love The Emperor's New Groove, but it's not because of the songs. In fact I don't even remember most of the songs in this movie. Strike that. I don't remember ANY song in this movie. This is the opening song from the movie and it's sung by Tom Jones. And I feel this also represents a good movement in terms of how Disney does it's music now. When you have a movie set in Peru and zero of the voice cast is even Latino then I think you miss opportunities for memorable songs. Lin Manuel Miranda is my enemy but he makes a catchy and I guess like a culturally distinct and appropriate bop. But this song and Tom Jones performing it feels so hodge podge for this specific movie. It's whatever. Saving: Kidnap the Sandy Claws
  17. save Kidnap the Sandy Claws (The Nightmare Before Christmas) cut Perfect World (The Emperor's New Groove)
  18. Even More Enchanted (Disenchanted) I know I'm not always tuned in to the Disney+ releases but I feel like I am tuned in to Amy Adams's career so I was startled to see there was a whole Enchanted sequel I did not know existed lol. This song isn't really persuading me to give it a watch though. The critics seem pretty MEH on it as well so I don't think I'm missing out on much. And I don't know if the Arrival snubbed just freaked up Amy Adams's career psychologically, but get this woman back in a GOOD movie. Like what's her best movie since that? Vice? Bleh. Let me take over as her agent, I'll find her something good. The people (me) just want to see Amy Adams thrive! Give her some good work! She's too good for what she's been in lately and that includes this movie! Saving: Who's Afraid of the Big Bad Wolf
  19. Once Upon a Time in New York City (Oliver & Company) The period between The Rescuers and The Rescuers Down Under is a real weird time for Disney (except for The Little Mermaid). It's kind of like the other weirdo period in the 2000s. It just feels like none of the Disney movies are what you really think of when you think of Disney. Except for the talking animals. None are particularly that musical, which since the inception of the theatrical animated features for Disney has kind of been a staple. There are exceptions of course (One Hundred & One Dalmatians, The Sword in the Stone), but again another reflection between the 80s and the 00s of Disney. Anyway, I like Oliver & Company well enough, but this song feels so of its time. It doesn't help that Huey Lewis is the singer. It also doesn't really feel movie specific. And I'm a big believer that a musical song should feel specific to the work that it's in. It's fine. The opening makes me sad because I love cats though. LOLOLOLOLOLOL. Saving: Who's Afraid of the Big Bad Wolf
