Alex95 Posted May 29 Share Posted May 29 Haja Estree After singing the praises of "starwars.com" over the "wookiepedia" it appears we have reached the point where people were too lazy to make an entry. And to be fair, I can't blame the site admins. The Obi-Wan show was a steaming pile of crap. Spoiler alert, I love Obi-Wan and particularly love Ewan McGregor's portrayal of Obi-Wan. This show was lazy, fan-servicey, gave us no additional interest to these rich characters, and worst of all BORING. The show getting a best limited series Emmy nomination was an absolute disgrace to the category. Anyways, all I kept thinking when watching the show was "What is Kumail Nanjiani doing in Star Wars". Unfortunately I could not separate Kumail Nanjiani from the character. Star Wars should not hire already famous people. It's a space soap opera. Seeing Kumail Nanjiani takes me out of the immersion. I had the same problem with him in Eternals. He was good in the Hulu Chippendales limited series though. I haven't talked about his character for a second because I hated the Obi-Wan show that much and the second it ended, I pushed every aspect of that show out of my head. Unfortunately I can't forget that obnoxious Child!Leia no matter how hard I try. But about Haja! He was a con artist who pretended to be force sensitive. However, he tried tricking an actual jedi and got caught fast lol. So Obi-Wan roped Haja in to help him rescue Leia. While he originally worked with Obi-Wan out of force, he ended up joining up with him of his own free will and joined The Path. God, I don't even remember what that is, what a pathetic show. Anyways, I do kiiiiinda remember this character just because I kept thinking this isn't an actual Star Wars character, just Kumail Nanjiani in robes. Did we forget to add Maya Erskine to this game? As much as I hate the Obi-Wan series, Maya Erskine deserves the world. This guy was played by O'Shea Jackson Jr., aka Ice Cube's son. The Yankees are now blowing their game after a Rangers loss while I'm writing this. I am sad. Kawlan was part of The Path, that helped protect Jedi and force sensitive people. He was partial to the cause because he was married to a force-sensitive woman who got killed by the Empire. Tbh, the last two episodes were the best parts of the Obi-Wan show and that did involve The Path. But that's not really the strength of these new characters they introduced, that was because the battle scenes weren't terrible. It was an incredibly low bar, but yes, Kawlan is in the best part of the Obi-Wan show. But that's not a good enough reason for me to not cut two of the characters from that show right now. Somehow what we got is both better and worse than what could have been. Anyway, before Rise of Skywalker there was a lot of talk about Disney putting GAY characters in Star Wars! And people were like "OMG is it gonna be Poe and Finn??? Finally!" but everybody should know that Disney ONLY listened to the people with the TERRIBLE takes after The Last Jedi (hashtag justice for Rose Tico) and thus something that people who weren't hateful gatekeeping idiots wanted was NEVER going to make it to the films. Also if major characters were actually gay on screen how could Disney sell the movie to CHINA??????? (My next 10000 word essay on this forum will be how major studios's desires to reach China has ruined blockbusters!). So not only did Disney not make Finn and Poe gay for each other, they went the extra mile by making Zorii Bliss AKA Poe's NO HOMO character! Zorii Bliss is supposed to be a character that reveals more about Poe's unlawful past. But everybody with a brain knows she was added just to make sure that everybody knows that Poe likes ladies. This is ON ME. 99 is disfigured clone (in fact his full name is CLONE 99) from The Clone Wars. He does so little that for once his StarWars.com Databank entry might be longer than his Wookiepedia one. I am JK-ing because the people at Wookiepedia NEVER stop and thus he has like four paragraphs of bio. As he is disfigured he was considered unfit for combat and thus remained on Kamino to support his comrades. This meant that he did the janitorial duties. He's falling in to some stereotypes and tropes of being gentle and wise compared to his clone brothers. He ended up dying during the Battle of Kamino. He was a hybrid human-Twi'lek and was Force sensitive, so obviously he wants to be a Jedi. I don't think that green hair colour (same as Hera's skin colour) is enough to convince me he is half-Twi'lek though, that could have been executed better. I didn't watch 'Rebels' so I don't really know what role he played there, but in 'Ahsoka', he was able to sense her presence through Force, and helped to rescue her from the sea. He was obsessed with capturing Grogu and hired many bounty hunters to pursue his goal. On the planet Nevarro, along with the scientist Doctor Penn Pershing, they extracted blood from Grogu (who was called "the asset" by the Client), and the Client did not care if Grogu died as a result of it. Yuck. Thankfully, Din Djarin came to rescue Grogu and karma got "The Client" as he was killed by Moff Gideon's death troopers. But to me, he's just the guy we meet and is killed off within the first ten minutes of The Force Awakens. I just rewatched The Force Awakens the other guy. I stick with my initial opinion of what I saw in theaters. It's good! Nothing more, nothing less. More worried about my next two rewatches tbh. But yeah, this guy seemed to be an important member of the resistance between Episodes 6 & 7. He was a close of ally of Luke's until he went off to Jakku to retire. Poe reached him in order to learn where Luke was hiding, but unfortunately Kylo Ren was there too and he killed Tekka. Idk I feel like the blood's kinda on Luke's hands here because if he hadn't been hiding........but I digress. This is not intentional, but it appears if I had it my way there would be no rebel pilots to make it through this first cycle lol. Anyways, Snap Wexley was also in Force Awakens! Did I cut both Force Awakens characters because I just watched the movie and my memory is still kind of fresh on those characters? Perhaps... Oh boy his Wookiepedia page is long. These books and video games and whatnot really help expand on every single character huh. Too bad I'm not doing them justice at all . I take it the Aftermath books are what really get into detail about him, because I just watched the video of Snap's death, and people said they were particularly sad about his death after reading about him in the Aftermath books. He does have his own action figure though, so I guess that's his contribution lol. Anyway, his species were called Werewolf Shistavanen, and he served the Galactic Empire as a hunter and scout. He then had a change of heart after he met a lovely serpentine creature named Dice Ibegon and fell in love with her, and she convinced him to serve for the Rebels (you go girl). He apparently flew an X-wing starfighter for the rebels during the Battle of Endor, but I can't remember that happening in the movie. Fun fact, Lak Sivrak was portrayed by a woman in the original trilogy film Star Wars: Episode IV A New Hope. Anyway, here's another one. Muftak also does not exist in the official Star Wars databank, but does have his own action figure. Interesting. His species were called the Talz and came from the planets Alzoc III and Orto Plutonia, which haven't been discovered until the Clone Wars. However, poor Muftak was abandoned on Tatooine as a newborn. He was a spice dealer and an associate of Han Solo. Muftak loved to get drunk and lost his money gambling at sabaac on a regular basis. During production of the movie, he was nicknamed "Four Eyes" and "Spider-Man", and the name "Muftak" didn't become canon until 2015.
