I am surprised at all the love the other coaches gave EJ. I thought he was fine but I thought Tasha was a lot better so I am glad that Blake picked Tasha. 

 

I think the new coaches were trigger happy with their steals there. But congrats to Niall I guess?

I preferred Tasha as well. She was really really good.

 

EJ's blind was one of my favs of the season, but didn't feel much from him in the battles. His opening was great tho.

I think Gravity is a pretty boring song in general so not sure I would have liked any version of it but in general I thought Jamar and Mariah's battle was pretty boring. I guess Jamar was better than Mariah so I get why Chance picked Jamar.

Didn't care for that battle, but thought Jamar did a decent job, and was deserving of the win.

Okay Gina vs Kala is a battle I watched like 4 or 5 already but I'll watch all the other stuff that goes along with it too!

I guess they let Gina and Kala watch each other's blinds so that's interesting and cool.

Kala is not someone that was on my radar when I was looking at the spoilers but she easily became one of my favorites on the season.

 

Gina's blind audition I didn't care for at all.

Agree with your judgments so far. I also didn’t like Gina’s BA very much.

 

I actually preferred EJ in the battle to his BA, but still thought Tasha won.

Gina did get a lot better between her blind and her battle so that's good. This battle was really good but I still would have easily went with Kala over Gina. Nial made a questionable with picking Gina over Kala but I am used to people making questionable decisions on singing shows today.

Allie is the rocker girl but after watching Kaerya on American Idol she doesn't really compare to her. They are both from Illinois which is kinda funny.

 

Cait I didn't really remember her blind audition but she sounds good in rehearsals.

Allie sounded good on some parts but then on other parts I thought she was kind of off. Cait I thought was strong all throughout the performance so I would have easily went with her. Decent enough battle though.

Walker vs Kason is a battle of guys who would over stay their welcome on American Idol for sure.

I do really like Here Without You as a song. That being said neither of these guys did this song justice. I don't really care who Blake decided to choose. With that being said if I had to pick someone I guess I would have went with Walker but I don't really care either way.

Sorelle vs Manessa. Singing Adele is going to be interesting. The song is probably more up Manessa's lane but going against a trio is really tough no matter who you are.

This was definitely one of the most unique battles that I have seen and for that reason I really enjoyed it. I really enjoyed both Sorelle and Manessa and I really enjoyed Chance's arrangement of the song. This maybe an unpopular opinion here but I enjoyed Sorelle's part more so I would have went with them. I don't blame Chance for using his playoff pass on Manessa though.

I agree with you on Sorelle / Manasseh. I preferred Sorelle, but thought Manasseh did a good job as well.

Well I don't think I would put them at the top of my power rankings but I enjoyed them in this battle round at least.

Okay onto episode 2. 

 

Laura vs Ross.

 

I don't really remember either of these two. But I like the song choice. So will see what happens with it I guess.

Laura sounds really rough here so she doesn't interest me. Ross I think did a pretty good job with this song so I would easily pick him to win this one.

Chance not knowing the song is hilarious I laughed at how he brought that up.

So Alyssa vs Magnus is another battle pairing where I don't remember either of these people.

Alyssa moved to Nashville? That's interesting I'm going to assume she isn't a country singer so that's a little surprising but they do have more than just country singers I guess.

Alyssa started off really rough. I think she got better as the song went along but overall I wasn't really a fan. Magnus wasn't super impressive either but out the two of them I guess he was the least worst of the two so I get why Chance picked him.
