"AN UNUSAL PRINCE/ONCE UPON A DREAM" (SLEEPING BEAUTY) All of the songs remaining from the last set of nominations are classic to a certain degree, so it's certainly sad to see any of them go. However, I will be saving Belle as I originally intended until my cut got stolen because I was too busy dealing with an important matter at work. This leaves me with three songs to choose from, and the one that I am the least attached to is, unfortunately, "An Unusual Prince/Once Upon a Dream" from Sleeping Beauty. It's also the movie that I am the least attached to, so it's only fitting that I am cutting a song from it. Simply known as "Once Upon a Dream", it is often seen as THE romantic song from the Disney universe. And by default, the most well-known song from the film, sung by Princess Aurora and Prince Phillip. It's certainly one of the most commercially successful songs from Disney and has had many covers, including Lana Del Rey's version for Maleficent, which I really enjoyed. I perhaps would have preferred to see it last a few more rounds, but given the situation at hand, I had no choice but to cut it. SAVING: BELLE

"EVERYBODY WANTS TO BE A CAT" (THE ARISTOCATS) While not everyone may be family with songs featured in The Aristocats, "Everybody Wants to Be a Cat" is without a doubt the most recognizable song featured in the film. It is sung by the main characters of the film: Scatman Crothers as Scat Cat, Phil Harris as Thomas O'Malley, Thurl Ravenscroft as Billy Boss the Russian Cat, Robie Lester as Duchess, and Liz English as Marie. The song itself is has a catchy melody and lyrics which makes it hard to not be familiar with the song after only hearing it once. However, at this stage of the rankdown, it's the little details that matter, and among the remaining nominated songs, this the song that I am the least attached to, and therefore, I'm fine with cutting it from the rankdown. Considering that the film is not considered a top-tier Disney film, the song's placement in the rankdown is quite impressive! SAVING: I JUST CAN'T WAIT TO BE KING

"TWO WORLDS" (TARZAN) As we all know, the music for Tarzan, including this song, was written by the one and only Phil Collins. This song is quintessential to the story of the movie, serving as the main song for the film. In fact, it was the first song that Phil wrote for the movie before collaborating with Mark Mancina to elevate it to another level, ensuring it could carry throughout the film. At its core, the song tells the story of Tarzan from the very beginning, telling us of Tarzan's being torn or stuck between two worlds: his birth family and the family that raised him. The song is heard multiple times during the film, including a reprise at the end and during the credits. I don't dislike the song but at this point in the rankdown, it's all about songs that one is passionate about, and this ain't one of them. It also means that "You'll Be In My Heart" is crowned the top song from Tarzan, as it rightfully should be. SAVING: SALLY'S SONG
