thoughts: - NOIVAS: messy vs. Tasha: strong, but a few mess-ups - ALI: good opening, messy ending vs. Marcos: good opening, pitchy + messy ending - Gina: best performance so far vs. Kate: thin high notes - NariYella: not a solid song choice vs. Ray: nice tone, but easy song choice - Kylee: beginning - middle was okay, ending was great vs. Walker: a 14 year old did better on this song a few seasons ago - Cait: very strong, best of the (relatively weak) night vs. Kala good but messy / rushed at points

omg and with this post i've tied my number of posts on the spoilers thread with Jaffy! never though i'd see the day

I feel like having connected so much with the contestants I would probably be excited to cheer them on but it would be tough to be there while someone is struggling it just adds more pressure on them. That being said, it seems like we've only seem positive feedback from the playoffs pass recipients so far (though I haven't watched the episode yet).

to elaborate: those contestants easily could’ve gone home to spend time with family, but instead they were there. for some contestants that might be nice to connect w their peers more but i can totally understand being discontent with being forced to be there. i guess they wouldn’t get paid if they were sent home…

i have been a big fan of blake. that’s not the issue. the issue is that he is in a position of power as a mentor and he chose to tear someone down instead of teaching them. you’d never see a (good) teacher yell at their students after they messed up on an assignment or exam, and if they did, there’s a solid chance they’d get in large trouble if not fired. i think people deserve grace and it’s possible blake was having a bad day, so this doesn’t necessary reflect on blake being a bad person, but that doesn’t mean that it doesn’t need to be said that, based on what we’ve heard, he did something wrong.

just here to say I TOLD YOU SO @ kylee being incredible iconic amazing vocalist of the season my winner !!!!!!!! i haven’t seen her performances or comments on it but i read what y’all said about the sneak peek of it before an ad break and i couldn’t contain my stanhood. SO glad she’s getting her deserved appreciation us Kylee stans win !

so disappointed with Blake. there’s no reason to just lambast a contestant like that. they’re supposed to be learning on this show and what he did doesn’t sound like constructive criticism at all! so upset that this happened

this is a good opportunity to remind everyone that you can message Cait (or any contestant !!!) and share some kind words to her; she might not see it but if she does it'll probably brighten her day and/or help her feel better about this whole situation, especially if she knows that she has a ton of people who support her!!!

i love them for this. just so tragic that Cait took such a hit with those comments because she's such an incredible singer

ugh this is so sad, i feel bad for Cait! did she say anything about whether she was feeling sick or something during the performance? she looked pained throughout it and that was my first guess, but i feel like something was off even if not that. respectfully, Blake doesn't have any basis to criticize Cait b/c he can't even hum to Whitney in tune probably /hj. if Cait or any of her friends is reading this we r on ur side !! ur an icon legend moment and blake is not all the man you need to be listening to

- Elijah, on-pitch but im not enamored. i LOVE his shirt though (this is not shade i genuinely love it). - Paige, a bit messy but some really impressive notes in there. ADORED the ending. Paige is the pop powerhouse type of singer i love! - Marybeth, didn't love it and she was pitchy at some point too. - Wé is the best so far, but not by thaaat much. - Michael don't like his tone. Also he was pitchy on one of his big notes. - Dawson stands out as very interesting compared to the rest. 99% pitch perfect + that high note at the end was insane! Really showed dynamics here by starting out soft then going big. - Hannah has an incredible voice, but it would've been great for her to tune it a bit over a year before coming here. Nonetheless, the rawness is probably appealing to some people, and I can see why; anyway, her pitch is at a similar level to the other contestants who have been singing for longer. She's doing really great!

this is random but if anyone comments "this isn't a battle, this is a duet" under the season 24 battles i will go FERAL! they write it under EVERY SINGLE BATTLE and its like ...... OF COURSE !!! that is what a battle is ??? a duet ??? where two people sing ???????? not sure why this is so hard to understand. anyway thanks for listening !

Luke is right, every time she performs, she gives it her all, which is super commendable. I'm a big fan of her. And I haven't forgotten the hollywood week duets debacle -- she handled herself so gracefully and it makes me even prouder to be a #Nutstan!

also i enjoy Noah's energy a lot but her advice about not going around the stage as much for this song made no sense this is not the kind of song to stay still
