  1. In other news, I finally heard Iam perform. He was very good but not the best. Not that it’ll hurt him of course.
  2. The sound cut out on me during Iam’s performance but I’m sure that he did well. He’s probably the guy whom I would most like to see win, but while I might only vote for him if my other favorites are gone, the overpimping might backfire on him and that’s a pity. And I don’t see my top favorite (We) being a pageant queen. Olivia, maybe but not We and not most of the other women.
  3. I actually thought that Lucy should have ended the show instead of Iam.
  4. I think that she did very well but the lack of airtime will probably put her near the bottom, sad to say.
  5. I might have to reconsider my opinion that Emma would be one of the first three to be eliminated. Mariah might go instead.
  6. I thought that Mariah was very good but there were others I preferred more.
  7. I hope that Zachariah took any advice from Allan. Cameron didn’t take advice last season and look what happened to him.
  8. So far I’d put Elise in first, Matt in second and Oliver in third — Oliver sang well but I agree that his song was rather boring.
  9. I’m ready to vote for Elise, Kaeyra Lucy and maybe Nailyah even if she’s probably a goner.
  10. Iam gets the pimp spot. No big surprise. I recall Bo Bice and Adam Lambert from the FOX era. They were both pimped a lot — and they both lost. I think Adam might have been the closest to Iam but he had a tone of voice that drove me nuts. Iam is more pleasing to my ears. And Alejandro from this era is more controversial than Iam is as Mikey noted.
  11. Glad to see that you’re doing another season of opinions on the contestants who made it this far. I’ll mention you when I do my analysis of why most of the Top 26 lost and hopefully why one of them won.
  12. Then Oliver must be performing in second since he’s the only other singer performing in daylight.
  13. Unfortunately, that probably isn’t conducive to getting votes. I wouldn’t mind it — I watched a show on PBS called Ghostwriter where one of the main characters wrote rap songs — but more conservative voters would mind and the rap songs on Ghostwriter were more kid friendly than the ones Wé would probably sing.
  14. If a guy with a guitar wins, I’d like it to be Iam. He’s really likable and I really do sympathize with his backstory. I won’t be voting for him, however, mainly because he doesn’t need my support but also because I prefer female singers.
  15. Well, it’s Pop as well as Rock, so it’s close enough to the Pop/Soul identity that Wé has that it might not matter much.
  16. There’s such a fine line between being too predictable and being too versatile. Wé isn’t predictable but she needs to be versatile without being too versatile. Oh and what type of song is “Edge of Midnight”? Pop?
  17. True. We takes risks with her song choices but she needs to focus on her artistic identity as well. Casey Bishop might have fallen short in part because she failed to showcase what kind of artist she wanted to be.
  18. Or Hannah, since we don’t know her song either. It could also be a ballad.
  19. Agreed, but I don’t believe that Malik will break that trend, unfortunately. Elijah might, but not Malik.
  20. Either Elise or Iam closes the first show and I hope that We closes the second one.
  21. I chose Nailyah, but I also enjoyed Elise, Olivia and Iam. That said, I think Maddie did a better version of "Sounds of Silence" than Iam did.
  22. I hope that she uses it too. I think that was the song that made me first really like her.
