- yeah, i get what u mean regarding Magnus. i think i liked his overall performance so much that i was willing to forgive technical issues, and as you can see by my rankings, i also preferred Jerome - yes I am referencing GNT but it's not actually a bad thing. it's just like how some people prefer Lauren Duski to Chris Blue -- they're different styles of singing. Chris' style of singing is undoubtedly more impressive to me but Lauren's is really pretty in a way that Chris' never was. i understand placing ryley higher! he's a great singer. i don't connect with him but i appreciate a good pop powerhouse. don't remember enough about the Calum Scott version to say whether i agree or not, but also be careful mentioning that version; Someone648 might get mad!

yeah definitely makes sense, i think Caity had a great audition, Mike i'm less of a fan of but i respect it, and Angie i think is one of my favorites of the season. caroline / nick i think are kinda unpopular opinions on here but i really like caroline's light, airy voice and i thought nick's falsetto was nice. mary sarah is strong as well but there's this megan danielle-esque thing where i'm kinda hoping she'll do more because i feel like she can and they she doesn't

yeah it's so hard to not speak my mind because i have LOOOOOTS to say at all times. so i have to force myself to stop talking so that i don't completely give away stuff. i mean, i think the general landscape of my top 5 is pretty obvious, but there should be at least a few surprises (mainly because there were some surprises for me when ranking them that i haven't expressed on here).

Agree with this for the most part. They're not going to do that, because a) it makes them look bad, and b) they're probably all nice people. I will say that the typical viewer probably considers them the true "winner" of the battle based on all the stuff about the playoffs pass being the highest honor and all. I think they should do it differently if they do it in the future, mayhaps (i've put some thought into this but obviously its not a perfect idea so ofc there are problems w this too): - two STEALS - after the battles conclude, the contestants who advanced are brought together by new team and the coach picks who skips past the knockouts (kinda a nice feel-good moment becuase no one gets eliminated there, just someone being selected to get an extra honor). - the contestants who skip the knockouts get individual time with their coach and the knockouts advisor, and clips of the playoffs pass contestant getting to chat with the advisor -- for example, they could ask general questions (how to break into the music industry, how to improve on technical skills, emotional connection...) ^that would be a great way to ensure playoffs pass contestants aren't missing out on talking w/ the mega mentor + it emphasizes the "honor" of the pass, because they get the individual attention of the mega mentor + it can be really nice kinda foreshadowing for their playoffs performance -- eg: ryley could've asked about tips for falsetto, manasseh could've talked about combining faith with your music, mary kate could've talked about emotional connection, d.smooth could've talked about tips for fitting into modern-day music/r&b/pop.

LMAOOOOO yeah i think that one note threw me off a little, it was pretty but didnt fit the song. also i was kind of raging when Cait and Allie had this big harmonized note and then Allie had to go for another note right after with no break because it felt kind of unfair since Cait got a chance to breathe there before singing her next line but luckily Cait didn't go for anything massive there so it didnt feel terrible. but overall a really strong performance. i think i'll rank the battles, but instead of doing hints, i might just post all of my rankings at once w/o long writeups (maybe a setnence if i feel like i need to say something). by then, i can see whether i'd rank it higher but i feel pretty confident i would?

Tasha's performance was definitely good, im just used to different takes on in (particularly Kique and Ricky's versions, which felt fuller and more consistent to me). - yeah i mean i am kinda surprised by it too, but this happens to me all the time where i stop liking songs because i listen to them too much - yeah i figure Ryley being low would be not great for most people, but i've been a reasonably vocal ryley detractor (hopefully reasonably respectfully though) on this website so i didn't think it would be a big shock but if you haven't seen or don't remember that then i can see why it'd be surprpising. - let's see where they end up i will say that my new top 21 is a little bit weird because i redid the rankings recently and im kind of confused how some people ended up where they did LMAO. so please give me some grace when u see how odd some of the rankings are........
