B-/C+ Pleasantly surprised by the premiere. Maybe it's because I had zero expectations?

Great 1. Ryleigh vs. Gean - Big brain decision by Kelly to pair these two together. They did an excellent job and their harmonies were *chef's kiss* 2. Dana vs. Devan - Questionable song choice, but damn did they kill it! Dana was pretty much perfect and Devan got better as the battle went on. 3. Connor vs Aaron - Really entertaining battle! Aaron was consistently good throughout but Connor had the best moments of the performance. Ok 4. Ethan vs. Avery - I can't really say anything wrong about this battle, but it's not my thing, so I didn't enjoy this as much as I wanted to. Ethan killed it and Avery was ok. 5. Pia vs. Christine - This got a bit messy towards the second half, but I still enjoyed it, specially Pia's solos, who killed it. Also, bring Brandy as a coach next season, tyvm. Meh 6. Her final average is exactly 5.0003. - Pete, with a score of 6.46, went from 23rd to 29th in one update. His score in the first update was 7.6 in comparison. - Shockingly, Pete isn't the contestant who lost more placements in the final update. That dishonor goes to Jose (going from 20th to 28th). Durell was also negatively affected by the update (from 14th to 19th). - Raine placed 13th after being in the Top 10 since the start of the game (tragic). - Savanna C (+0.61) and Emma (+0.59) improved their ratings significantly.
