  1. Looking at the tour dates for the coaches and it looks like the latest thing is Blake performing out of the region on the 18th but heโ€™s pretty clear after that. John seems to be on tour throughout Europe beginning July 6th. So yeah, we seem to be safe with blind dates occurring towards the end of June. Only confusion is I see is John starting his shows in Vegas August 6th but there arenโ€™t significant enough gaps throughout August to allow for battles and KOโ€™s. His gap is July 16-August 5 Maybe weโ€™re getting battles/KOโ€™s early this year.
  2. Yeah I was expecting Ellie here. Her original stuff isn't on platforms anymore either, which is a bummer. Disappointed that she left behind music but she seems so happy with her kiddos (and #3 on the way very soon!) She's talked about music here and there in her stories from what I remember but it seems like she just struggled to find the balance between parenting and music and chose parenting. I do hope she's able to find her way back to music eventually though. Those kids are lucky to have someone as musically gifted as she is
  3. Kameron Marlowe - One Call Away (I Shot the Sheriff too but it wasn't country lol) Jake Hoot - Cover Me Up Jim Ranger - Humble and Kind Kenzie Wheeler - Don't Close Your Eyes Mitchel Lee - Hold My Hand
  4. Hoping for Thando, Faith, Lachie (?), and Cassidy.
  5. I definitely appreciate the opposing view. I don't mean to take away from her heritage or culture at all and as a Colombian, it's good to see Latino representation, but whatever she's trying to convey, in my eyes, has always felt way too corporate/inauthentic and it doesn't quite feel like the love letter that's being described. Maybe I need to give the album a full listen again to appreciate it, but it feels more "pop artist trying a Latin thing" than "Latin artist paying tribute to her culture" if that makes sense. This is a great opportunity for her to break some of my perceptions about her, though. I've blown this way out of proportion already lol. Guess I just needed to vent.
  6. Thank you. Our culture's finally pretty much as mainstream/accepted/taken seriously/not as ridiculed as it's ever been and there's good and bad in that. And I'm not saying any of this to say Camila's not Latina enough or anything - it's just like we KNOW they probably want to bill her as a certain kind of artist that people already mislabel her as. Just label her as a pop artist on the show and 99% of my beef will be squashed. Case in point, I'm reposting Vanessa Librea's Camila audition on TVAu but with her own commentary starting at 2:40ish in the video. Keep in mind she's 0% Latina, she's Filipina and Australian. And her intro package (which isn't on Youtube) is pretty much just 3 minutes of her talking like this. I just have the gut feeling we're gonna get 1 or 2 of these people this season and ugggh. I don't want them to be there. It's not Camila's fault that this is the perception, but I've always felt like they've been using her as one of the vehicles for this thing and she's not even doing it well. Hope I'm proven wrong. Like I said before, my beef with Camila is mostly petty. I hope I'm wrong and she turns out to be a great coach and that NBC respects her. I just have several doubts. Also stream "Un Verano Sin Ti" and "Sin Miedo (del Amor y Otros Demonios)"
  7. Absolutely. Happy to have Latin representation, I just think Camila's a bizarre choice to be the one IF that's what they're trying to do. She doesn't exactly check many boxes in terms of the type of people that'll be attracted to join her team. Ari obviously had pull from all different angles, so did John and Kelly when they joined. She's probably the clearer choice for teen pop artists (L.A.M.B. came out almost 18 years ago so Gwen isn't exactly relevant for the teens anymore)and maybe some of the people who they choose to have sing in Spanish, but beyond that, it's just a weird choice.
  8. tbh I think this is where my bad perception of her began lol
  9. I don't particularly like her. It's not outright hatred, like I'm sure she's generally a nice person, but I do groan when I hear about her. Admittedly, some of it is just petty beef and I'm fine with saying that, but as a whole, I'm not interested in her. Not a fan of her music, I think it's all weak pop music among a large field of better female pop singers. I don't like her voice or how it's used in songs, whether or not that's her doing (the "just like nicotiiine, heroiiin, morphine" is quite literally the most painful thing I've been forced to listen to. And I'm editing this post to restate this - that's not an understatement, whenever I read "the worst song I've ever listened to," my mind has quite literally gone straight to this song). Bad Things sounded dreadful, Havana is a pain, Senorita is frustratingly bad, and she has zero other hits. I don't know much about her Fifth Harmony days but I do like some 5H songs so I don't particularly have beef there. Above that, there's been all of this hype behind Latino music over the past few years since Despacito and I am HYPED about that. I don't count Camila as Latin pop - she's just pure American pop. I just have the feeling she's gonna be labelled as this Latin pop queen on the show and I just think she's a terrible representative for it. It's just gonna push more ideas about Latin pop in my eyes that don't feel right. People were already saying this would lead to more Shakira, Gloria Estefan, etc. in the thread - that's not a bad thing at all, but if I may pull a Molly Stevens for a second - it's a very narrow-minded view of what Latin music is and if they wanted a Latin artist to showcase what it could be, Camila's the wrong one to do it. I get that technically she's more successful than a bunch of these other crossover artists that I think would serve better as coaches. But this whole Latin thing she's been going for over the past few years is forced and inauthentic. I know she's Cuban, I know she speaks Spanish - none of the music she's released at all sounds like it's actually coming from that place. It all feels like it was written by someone else off of Despacito hype and the post-Despacito hype has already worn down. And that's not particularly her fault - I'll blame that more on the label, but it just feels fake and bland. I don't dig her. I'll give her a shot though, I'm more than willing to be proven wrong in this case.
  10. Yeah, thatโ€™s IDFโ€™s job anyways But really, I have a loooot of complaints about Camila but Iโ€™m willing to give her a shot. Just not high expectations for her so far as a coach, thatโ€™s all.
  11. They know she likes it when they call her Seรฑorita
  12. less notable than Ari less skilled than Kelly less diversity than Miley less personality than JHud less icon status than Gwen less power than Christina somehow less relevant than Alicia tbh
  13. Shakira has a grip on what works for different types of Latin artists. Iโ€™m not so sure about Camila. NBC sure as hell doesnโ€™t know. Glad theyโ€™ve trusted some of the previous Latin artists with their song choices though (Mandi, Johnny, Karen, Eli, etc.) and not letting Blake Shelton pick Conga again lol
  14. Didnโ€™t realize Ariana cost them THAT much smh. Only plus I see is more Latin artists. The bad news is theyโ€™ll probably be given Camila songs, too.
  15. Another one worth adding is her feedback on Nazzarene Taleb vs Maddison McNamara. It looked funny but she 100% gave solid feedback. If she were to hypothetically join, she WOULD need to tone it down just a tad bit to make it more palatable for the audiences, but itโ€™s about time we get someone more constructive on this show. I do think, however, Jessie and Gwen wouldnโ€™t really blend as personalities? Not saying that they need to be super in sync/matching like Kelly/JHud, but it feels particularly imbalanced. Gwenโ€™s humility vs. Jessieโ€™s boldness. At least Kelly had a mix of the humble/boldness down no problem. just a thought there.
  16. This is all true. The main argument against this, however, is that they would have to allow Adam Levine back on the set.
  17. I mean they've had somewhere around 1000 contestants so finding a couple dozen shouldn't be super hard. Even shrinking down the season to like 32 would be a great starting point. And it seems like a lot of the negative ones just didn't know what they were signing up for or had too high of expectations and were ultimately let down. I'm sure some of the contestants have matured/improved and would be fine just going on for more exposure once again.
  18. Yeah. I don't know if I'd prefer a season of full all-stars (maybe a mini-season over the summer if they finally put AGT out of its misery next year) or a mixed season like they did with Australia (even though All-Stars ended up winning both seasons)
  19. I mean since Masterchef is doing an All-Stars season it would be a nice time for them to start talking about a Voice All-Stars season lol
  20. A great way to break it to those who don't follow the spoiler thread
  21. Hiring Kelly Rowland so that they can just reuse a bunch of the stuff with Kelly's name on it and NBC can save some of their budget
