  1. I hope they’ll release this song! https://www.instagram.com/reel/C25SVOhuXG5/?igsh=emozbzk4Z2liMmg1
  2. Not saying those aren't all valid points, but I'm just confused why music releases are so scattered with her. And why they take forever to put out a new album from her. I think she herself has alluded to being frustrated with them from time to time. Maybe other labels aren't interested in her, in which case, yeah she's better off staying where she is than having no label at all. But a lot of her fans are very frustrated with the lack of music. She has a solid fanbase and she puts out good songs. She's clearly talented. Yeah, there's lots of factors that make a person successful or not, and radio still doesn't want to bite on female artists so that will probably always work against her. But I'd like to see more than just a random single every few months. She's never invited to perform on the major award shows either.
  3. But that's what I'm saying. Only 2 albums in a 10-year career is honestly deplorable. She could have easily released 3-4 albums by now. I'm just saying another label could potentially be better than where she's at now and I'm not sure why they're not exploring that. Lauren Alaina was with the same label for 10 years and she finally switched over to a new one because she felt it was time for a change. They have been doing very well for her. I'm not the only one to notice her label doesn't really do much to support her. Most fans are usually wondering when a new album is going to be out. The fact she hasn't released a proper studio album since 2017 is appalling. Yes, the pandemic slowed things down but her last release was simply a compilation album they threw together because they didn't want to invest in a new project. It is pretty clear to most people they're not that invested in her. We don't have to pretend like her label is great. They aren't. She could probably fare better somewhere else but for whatever reason they are choosing not to go that route. It is pretty common after a while for an artist to change labels, especially when things aren't working where they currently are. Scotty McCreery had enormous success once he left the label he signed with after Idol.
  4. So I just came across an article about another country Big Machine artist and reality show alumna, Laci Kaye Booth, and how she was dropped from the label last year after her EP went nowhere. She also said she didn’t get a lot of creative control and attributed it to being a woman in the industry. This is not the first instance I’ve heard of BMLG dropping an artist after not really doing anything to support them, and not the first time they’ve been accused of not allowing creative control. I’ve often wondered what is actually going on over there concerning Danielle. They seem to just take forever to release anything and they don’t seem to want to invest much in either pushing singles to radio, or investing in full albums from her. It’s really bizarre why they continue to keep her on but they don’t seem terribly invested in pushing her. Like I said, what others have seemed to experience there seems similar to her situation. The fact it’s happened to more than one person isn’t really promising. I wonder why she continues to stay there. The whole thing is just bizarre.
  5. Dalton says new album coming soon! https://www.instagram.com/p/CwYhIUVORDp/?igshid=MzRlODBiNWFlZA==
  6. Yesterday a new interview came out where she was on Jana Kramer's podcast "Whine Down." I just listened to it and wow, it was incredible. She discussed how she had a period of a couple of years where her anxiety got really bad because of her relationship with Bennett and it was so bad that she lost weight from not eating. Her relationship with him got very bad I guess and he apparently "made her life a living hell" for a few months after she broke up with him and then got a new girlfriend almost immediately (she believes there was "some overlap"), and she moved in with him. It is so incredibly sad and devastating to hear how he treated her and how badly it affected her. She also discussed the comments people would make online about how anorexic she looked from being so thin, it's disgusting how people could say things like that with no idea what she was going through. In more positive news, she says she is going to release a new single soon, either this month or maybe next, and she is sitting on lots of songs for a new album she hopes to put out. She alluded to being frustrated with the label at times because she is ready to release stuff but they take forever to put it out or don't always let her release what she wants (she said something like "I try to be as vulnerable as I can, or as they let you" which says to me the label might have say in how "deep" they let her get with the songs). Anyway, I recommend giving it a listen!
  7. Last week a podcast called Music on My Mind interviewed Dalton's new band and they played a couple songs acoustically. They say a full album will come later this year and more singles.
  8. I think most of those songs are from when she was writing a lot for the second album, so it’s doubtful we’ll ever really hear any of them. She has probably changed her sound a lot since then and even though fans have been begging her to finally release Room for Two for years she still hasn’t.
  9. I’m loving the new song! My fiancé has been dealing with a toxic coworker for the last few months and the lyrics just hit home. I sent it to him.
  10. Danielle shared this really interesting video from the creative director of the ASP video, he shares some really interesting insights about the making of it, like how Danielle picked all the visuals for the moodboard and the whole vibe of it was her idea. Looking forward to hearing Monster on Friday!
  11. My theory on why they waited to release it to radio is so it wouldn’t have to compete with Christmas songs. It takes many months for a song to climb the charts so it only would have had maybe a couple months before the Christmas songs started coming in. I hope it does well for her. It’s a great song IMO and a little different/edgier than her normal releases. The Maren connection will definitely help generate some interest. Would be cool if maybe they got to perform it live together sometime. Worth noting there’s been lots of female country artists who didn’t get a ton of radio support who have still had success in other areas like awards, touring, etc. IMO I don’t think she’s ever really going to get anywhere as long as she’s with Big Machine since they never seem to push her much, but at the same time I get why she is staying with them because it’s a risk to leave and have to look for another label when she doesn’t have much of a track record to speak of. It’s a vicious cycle unfortunately.
  12. Can I request that we remove the post on this page that has a ton of links in it? The site won't load on my phone because it's attempting to load all those images and videos and it's so much that it always crashes. I can now only access it on my laptop. Would greatly appreciate it!
  13. I think the pandemic was a factor. It was hard for her to try writing over Zoom with others, and since nothing was going on, there wasn’t a lot of inspiration to pull from to write about. I believe NHIE is the only song post-IDBWM that she wrote and that was written pre-pandemic. I think she gets more excitement from seeing other people’s songs because it takes the pressure off her to write and she can get different perspectives, new topics she wouldn’t have thought to write, etc. She began her career singing other people’s songs so it’s not that unusual for her. I’d like to see more of her own writing too but I think she just doesn’t seem inspired at the moment and is having more fun choosing songs. Worth noting none of her “personal” songs that she wrote took off on radio, so maybe they think getting songs written by professionals will result in more “hit” material. The latest example being “A Special Place” co-written by Maren Morris which might generate some buzz because she’s a big name. Ultimately, I’m not sure it makes a difference whether she writes the songs or not. Country music is about storytelling. As long as she’s choosing songs she connects with and feels like she can convey the songs meaning and emotion, that’s what matters. She obviously chooses them for a reason, because she connects with them even if they aren’t written about her experiences specifically. This latest batch of songs may not have been written by her, but they sound like they could have been.
  14. The new song is definitely different from her previous stuff but it’s really well written and she sounds very good on it. She definitely needed some more upbeat songs in her catalog and the fact this was written originally by Maren Morris might give her some buzz. The video was really well done too.
  15. To be honest I think any song featured on In Between likely isn’t going on her third album, I have the feeling it will be all new songs, which makes sense. Girls in My Hometown was released like 2 years ago, there’s no chance of it getting a video or getting pushed to radio this late.
  16. I could be wrong but if those little clips are exclusively on Spotify when a song plays that’s literally all it is. Most artists have little clips play while songs play as like a visual element but it’s not meant to be a full video. I assume that’s what it is.
  17. New performance video up, wasn’t expecting to see Red Wine! i suspect eventually we’ll get performances of SDYB and Worth It as well.
  18. Taylor was the surprise guest at HAIM’s concert last night at the O2 Arena! They sang a mashup of Gasoline and Love Story.
  19. Hi all! I saw Maddie last night on tour, so I thought I'd share my experience here! We went to the show in Hartford and it was a very intimate venue. We sat up in the mezzanine so we had a perfect "birds-eye" view of the stage and the sound was fantastic! She played about an hour and a half setlist, comprised of songs from Whirlwind, "Don't Let Your Children Grow Up," "One That Got Away," and lots of covers. She also had a very funny rapport with the audience and joked around a lot. During "Don't Let Your Children" she actually completely forgot the second chorus lyrics and stopped and started asking the audience and her band what they lyrics were! LOL Caleb was in the audience and he was trying to remind her and they were talking back and forth, it was really funny. Then there was another moment where she asked if she had ever been to CT before and a couple girls in front of us yelled out to her that she has played here before for a radio show and they were having this whole conversation about it back and forth because Maddie didn't remember, it was so funny to see them yelling back and forth trying to remind her about it LOL After the show we stopped at the merch table, which was run by Caleb of course. We bought a From the Basement CD, Made You Biscuits magnet (and yes, she did tell the whole backstory of that one ), and a tie-dye shirt. Was super cool to meet Caleb, even for just a minute. I'll try to see if I can remember the setlist (though not in order and there were a lot of songs): Songs from Whirlwind: - First Aid Kit (I remember she opened with this) - Not Losing You - Nothing Good Comes Out of California - Wildflowers (she told the backstory of how she thought it was funny 2 Swedish guys wrote this song about what they thought Iowa was like, specifically mentioning a couple of the lyrics like about watching planes go by and using a star to guide herself home as if she doesn't have GPS ) - Made You Miss (with the "biscuits" backstory and substituted some of the lines) - Take It Out on You (I remember during this one she asked if anyone else out there can relate to this song and I raised my hand and yelled "yes" and she's like "ok one person!" LOL) - Roses Songs from the Basement: - Don't Let Your Children Grow Up (during which she forgot the lyrics) New: - One That Got Away Covers - there were tons so I probably won't be able to remember them all, but I think they were all songs from the '70s, nothing modern - "Blue Bayou" - "Brand New Key" - "Sittin' on the Dock of the Bay" (she closed with this one and accompanied herself without her band) - "It's Too Late" by Carole King - "Midnight at the Oasis" by Maria Muldaur - "I WIll Survive" by Gloria Gaynor - "Love Will Keep Us Together" by Captain & Tennille I don't remember if there were any more than that. We had a great time at the show and it was very entertaining! Unfortunately I don't think she sold a lot of tickets at this show, the venue was meant for like 500-600 people I think and I'd be surprised if there were any more than maybe 100-200 people there max, but probably less honestly. The mezzanine was meant for something like 100 or so people and there were maybe 15 people there? So I don't know if she'll ever come back to CT, at least not in that area, so I was glad to get to see her at least once. She is phenomenal live! Oh I forgot to mention, there were a couple points where people came in late and she was like "Did they announce the wrong show time or something?" LOL She was very welcoming to anyone who came in late anyway and it was funny.
  20. Too bad it’s for the old version.
