ZOANETTE JOHNSON
Zoanette was a contestant from the twelfth season who made it through to the semi-finals before she was eliminated. She was a favourite at IDF for reasons I don't even want to understand, and has been saved a few times so far in this rankdown. But as a semi-finalist, she's an easy cut from Zoey's nominations, so I'm cutting her here. For the Top 40 round, she did Circle of Life complete with the Swahilian chant at the beginning. Did you know that the English translation for that is essentially "Here comes a lion, father; Oh yes it’s a lion"? Disney think they're slick. Anyway, it was alright I guess, but she was no Jennifer Hudson and that's all I could compare it to... when I wasn't judging the users who said Zoanette's performance was better than JHud's. No ma'am.
Anyway, in the Top 20, she decided to take on Tina Turner's What's Love Got to Do With It? and it was a train wreck. As it usually when people try to cover that song on Idol. Nonetheless, Candice, Kree and Angie (who was robbed in this game ) were easy advancements, Janelle had the country vote on her side and the judges were backing Amber over Aubrey or Brenna, so Zoanette was an easy casualty for that night.
