I ranked Elise 13th. For me, it's kind of surprising she ended up ranking as low as she did, but I think because she's someone most people like, but few people love. She comes from Season 11, a season that was chock full of polarizing personalities from Phil and Jessica, to Joshua, Hollie and Colton. Elise benefits from being someone almost everyone liked that year but that was also very few people's #1 which is probably why she wasn't really targeted, but also doesn't rank super high in the final vote. With that said, I love Elise. She has one of the most unique female voices the show has ever seen and could sing almost anything. Besides her stellar, life-changing version of "Whole Lotta Love", I adore her performances of Billy Joel's "Vienna" where she gave us vocal runs for daysssss and Al Green's "Let's Stay Together", especially the studio which I played so much the summer after that season, so it just reminds me of warm weather and being in love. When I saw the Season 11 Idol tour (both times), Elise was definitely one of the standouts and she is definitely one of the coolest, most interesting contestants the show has ever had and totally deserves her spot in the Top 24. If you haven't listened to her original music, I highly recommend it. It's very true to who she is as an artist.

I'm still in awe that I got both Carly and Elise into this endgame. Obviously I gave Carly the free pass and I figured I was screwing Elise over in the process. I'm so grateful she won the public vote there at the end. It made losing Jena really easy for me because I expected that I was losing both Jena and Elise. Revisiting Elise's Idol run for this game and I feel the same way about it that I originally felt. It is so underrated. I feel like people feel rather ambivalent towards Elise outside of "One and Only", "Vienna", and "Whole Lotta Love". But I genuinely love every single Elise performance outside of "I'm Your Baby Tonight". Elise can sing literally anything. I find Elise to be such a unique contestant. With all the young kids that do this show that are still finding voice, it was nice to see someone whose been doing this a while and knows who they are. Elise knew her talent and knew her limits. She wasn't dying to win this show. She just wanted to put on a good show and show America who she is. She was above this show, but never acted like she was. She played along with Idol's silly games without going full Amanda Overmyer. And the producers weirdly loved her to and were lowkey pushing her the entire season??? The pimp spot in semifinals?! The random male and female bottom two the first week with the judges save?! Randomly dragging her students onto the stage?! The producers decided to invest in Elsie and I was SO here for it because she's so out of the normal golden child territory and it somehow got her all the way to top six when she likely was supposed to be booted after "I'm Your Baby Tonight".

Like I said, I love all of Elise's performances. Both of her duets with Phil were pretty much the only group performances that mattered (and I adore that segment of her bullying Phillip into singing "Somebody That I Used To Know" even though it pretty much killed any goodwill she had with the American public :dead:). "You And I" and "I Want It All" are two great moments that get paid dust. However, nothing compared to be the way "Bold As Love" is unfairly maligned by Idol fans. It is SOOOOOOO good. I get that cutting that song down to a minute and a half is impossible and probably why it doesn't get the appreciation it deserves, but that shouldn't take away from the strength of the performance. But while I love that performance, it doesn't reach the heights of her trifecta of flawlessness: "One and Only", "Vienna", and "Whole Lotta Love". "The former two are both amazing performances that were the best performances of the nights. "Whole Lotta Love" meanwhile is not only the performance of the season, but probably in my top five favorite performances in Idol history. Elise really did not need to SNAP as hard as she did. Elise gave me rocker chick REALNESS with that performance. No one better argue with Elise's spot here in the endgame because "Whole Lotta Love" alone solidified it.

She is an oddity for me. I didn’t watch live from S9 to S14, and came back to watch the final season, but when I watched back she floored me. Talented, interesting, and a true performer. I still get shivers from her Vienna performance. Her run is far from perfect, but her highs made me remember that this show could deliver magic at times.

Barely missing my Top 15, Elise Testone is an incredible artist who gave us some of the best performance of the 11th season of American Idol - the performances in question are "One and Only", "Vienna" and "Whole Lotta Love".  She was one of my favourite during her season, but I am not sure if that necessarily mean that she's one of my all-time favourite hence why I cannot justify having her any higher than this - I wouldn't be surprise if she somehow manage to make it into the Top 10 as I can see her being universally love by the rankers.

Another contestant that I have no idea how they made it to the finals. We really lost LaToya London, Jessica Sanchez, La'Porsha Renae and Fantasia for this? Make it make sense. American Idol Season 11 was stacked. We had Phillip, Jessica, Joshua, Skylar, Colton. I get people like their rocker chicks but she does not stack up for me in the same regard as Allison Iraheta or Carly Smithson. I can't even think of a favorite performance from her tbh. I'll have to look it up for help. Give me a second. "Whole Lotta Love" by Led Zeppelin. That was a performance and a half. I'll give her that. Congrats to the people who got her here but she is someone I didn't click with at all. I have a similar relationship with Nadia Turner. Overrated on the forum for sure.

Lashundra Cobbins  I ranked Trenyce 21st, partially because I don't have a HUGE attachment to her compared to most of the others left and partially because I thought she lowkey had a chance of placing super high. Apparently I was wrong. That being said, I like Trenyce but I was definitely Team Clay/Kim L./Kim C. during Season 2. Still, Trenyce was someone I liked and she had some great performances. Since we had only had one other season of Idol at that point, I naturally compared her to Tamyra. It was probably an unfair comparison, because she was phenomenal in her own right, but I think it still hindered her a bit because Tamyra was SO good. However, her version of "I Have Nothing" is still my favourite ever on the show. Her elimination was also such a huge shock because her two performances on Top 5 night ("Love Will Keep Us Together" and "Proud Mary") were so strong. Personally, I would have been fine with her outlasting Josh and Ruben at that point, but she didn't. She's since gone on to do tons of roles on Broadway, including playing Diana Ross in the touring Motown musical so, good for her.

Oh, the joys of old-school American I contestants not having any gifs to choose from. :haha: Do I think Trenyce will win? Do I think Trenyce will be in the Top 10? No. Is she even in my Top 10 of the Top 24 left? No. I just ranked her this high because I know she is an old-school contestant who gets forgotten. Trenyce was my favorite on American Idol Season 2. She made it all the way to the Top 32 and didn't get a Top 2 spot to advance to Top 12. She didn't even place third but was brought back for the Wildcard Show and was ultimately Randy Jackson's choice to advance. She proved herself in the Top 12 and my favorite performance of hers will always be "I Have Nothing" by Whitney Houston. She was the first one to do it on the show and started a huge trend in regards to that song. :haha: She has done some Broadway since being eliminated in 5th place when it should have been Joshua Gracin.

Trenyce really come onto season two and decided she was just gonna go by one name because she is That Bitch . Love that for her . Unfortunately, like a few other early season contestants, I didn't watch Trenyce's season live so I never really connected with her the same way I connected to many other contestants in this top 24. Trenyce's talent is undeniable. She delivered my favorite rendition of "I Have Nothing" on the show and I'm also quite obsessed with her performance of "Proud Mary". Overall though, she's not a contestant I really have a lot of feelings on and I have to imagine she'll be one of the earlier eliminations here (though I'll be pleasantly surprised if she has an underdog story and cockroaches herself to a high placement).

A contestant on the 2nd season of American Idol, Trenyce positioned herself as a strong contender to win it all by delivering some excellent performances - some of her top performances included "Let's Stay Together", "Come See About Me", "The Power of Love", "I Have Nothing" and "Proud Mary". But at the end of the day, these performances were not enough for her to win it all as she finished in 5th place.

Despite being a fan of hers on the fan, I cannot justify ranking her any higher than this as I have some of all-time favourites in this Top 24 & I would love to see Kimberly Locke winning her season.

Trenyce has someone I have low-key wanted out for awhile. She was not one of my favourites in season 2, and I just personally felt she overstayed her welcome on the show, and again on this rankdown. She did slay Let's Stay Together. Really though, that was the only time I appreciated her. I had a problem with connecting with her when I was that young. Sorry fans!

I really, really thought that Rita had this in the bag. And the edit of the episode really seemed to be pointing towards that...so glad to be wrong! :wub:I

Yeah, when she kept saying “facts are facts” and reminding us that she’d be the first Francophone winner, I thought my suspicions were right. I had thought the producers would want a prominent French Canadian queen to win to encourage more people from Quebec to apply. I’m kind of glad I was wrong even if Rita is fab and deserves only love.

I ranked Adam at 19th, which was just my honest ranking of him in this group of 24 contestants. I still remember watching Adam's audition during Season 8 and getting that same feeling I got watching Carrie and Jordin's. I just knew that this guy was the one to beat. He was fresh and different and his voice screamed pop, rock and broadway all at once. He was definitely one of the reasons Season 8 was such a strong season for the franchise. We were blessed to get him, Kris, and Allison in the same season. They were equally talented in their own right and so different. Besides Sarver, Adam was my favourite throughout the season and, even after Kris won, I was an Adam fan and was upset he'd lost, but after the show, Kris rose in my rankings and his solo music was more my speed. I still like Adam these days, but he's definitely faded a bit on me through no fault of his own. His solo music is decent and he makes a fantastic frontman for Queen. He's stint as a mentor on Idol was also great. I also loved a lot of his performances, especially his duet with Allison to "Slow Ride", "Tracks of my Tears", "Black or White", "Mad World" and "Whole Lotta Love" which is fantastic, even if Elise did it better a few seasons later. :ph34rwave:

Love him as well, his run is great and while I expect him to place really poorly given the fame of his stans on IDF (I wasn’t here at the time) I just hope he can maybe make it into the Top 20 at least? Also love his own music and him touring with Queen? Epic.

I am forever obsessed with Adam's Idol run and he is one of the few contestants I do keep up with post-show since I do love Queen. A flamboyant emo gay stepping onto the Idol show, giving Randy Travis a heart attack, and defeating Danny Gokey . Truly a contestant made in a factory just for me. Adam does not get the appreciation he deserves for his vocal ability. I feel like he's remembered more for his style and his risks. And yes he does have that infamous "Mad World" moment, but Adam was vocally in another league from every one else on his season, and I would go as far as to say every other guy in the history of the show. There's a few women who may be up there with Adam, but I don't think there's another man in the history of Idol who's as talented of a singer as him. There is nothing Adam can't sing perfectly. The "screamers" can be hit or mess sometimes on this show. Even Siobhan, who I'm more of a fan of than most people here, was never pitch perfect flawless with her screams. Adam was always on point. I absolutely adore every single Adam performance. "Born to be Wild" is probably my least favorite Adam performance, and really I'm just less into it than I am his other performances. While I love "Mad World" like the rest of the world, "Whole Lotta Love" is probably my favorite Adam performance (though still only my second favorite cover of the song on this show :giggle:). Adam was robbed in the end because America was not nearly ready for Adam Lambert yet, but I like Kris so I was fine with him losing. And come on! QUEEN let Adam be apart of their band. The people who worked with Freddie Mercury want Adam Lambert to be their star. That tells you all you need to know about how insanely talented Adam is, and how deserving he is of his spot in the endgame.

    ADAM LAMBERT

A contestant in my Top 4 during his season, Adam Lambert gave us outstanding performances throughout his time on Idol, notably with performances such as "Black or White", "The Tracks of My Tears", "Mad World", "Feeling Good", and "Whole Lotta Love".

Despite not winning, as many people expected, he has found great amount of success post-idol with "For Your Entertainment", "Whataya Want From Me", and "If I Had You". And nowadays, he continues to prove that he's an incredible vocalist especially with his cover of "Believe" by Cher.

With that being said, I could not justify having him any higher than this as the majority of the contestants in the Top 24 were in my Top 2 of their respective season. Congrats to him for making it this far!

I’ve never liked or been impressed by Adam Lambert. Do I think he’s talented? I think he’s better than he used to be but still hurts my ears when he decides to go over the top. The one reason I can’t stand him is because of his fans back in the day and I’m not afraid to say they’ve put me off for life. By far one of the worst fan bases of any contestant ever! Absolutely horrific! I didn’t find any of his performances impressive and I don’t particularly remember anything he did apart from slow a few songs down to be the most amazing performances ever!!!1!1!1!! lol ok.
