Carrie_On
I think Nick is too Hollywood pretty boy to connect with voters. Dillon James is someone we should keep an eye on.
Carrie_On
They were southern guitar players with “aw shucks” personalities. Nick is a California pretty boy who got his start on Nickelodeon. I just don’t see people connecting with him.
mytake1
They don't need another Laine Hardy whose post Idol career has been a big disappointment. After all this time, he has yet to release any new music. Little happening in as far as promotion. Even his own fans have said the music they have heard is not hit material and he doesn't tell a story or emote very well.
mytake1
Laine Hardy won almost a year ago. He is a dime a dozen in Nashville - another country singer from a TV singing show. And Kelly Clarkson did become successful right after she got off the show. So did all the successful winners like Carrie, Fantasia, Jordin, Scotty, Phillip. In its glory years, winning Idol literally guaranteed a big-selling album. Record stores (remember those?) even had dedicated American Idol sections! 1
Carrie_On
Phillip and Trent were southern guitar players too. Lee and Nick F. were more rock/alternative singers. Nick Merico would be fine for a boy band but I don’t see him as a solo artist. I could be wrong.
