ShortstopVM
TALK TO 'EM, ZACK! I would've preferred a little Gordon Ramsey in his tone, but this is a start.
ShortstopVM
This #FieldOfDreams game was going soooo well... Until Stanton hit that HR to give the yankees the lead in the ninth... ShortstopVM
This is what accountability looks like: Would love to see a Mets manager do this to his players every time they make an egregious mistake...
RWG
Jays have had a tough 3-7 skid against several teams below .500, and their playoff odds are probably pooched now. Would be nice to see someone other than Montoyo managing the club next season. I know fans overplay the role of the manager and that a good one maybe buys an average team an extra 5 or so wins, but the number of one-run games lost over bullpen mgmt has been ridiculous. ShortstopVM
Mets won nine out of their last eleven, but we're still four games out. #NotGoodEnough If they won eleven out of their last eleven, we'd be two out.
sneaky
With the season winding down we are close to an AL East Title. I'm not too optimistic about a world series run with all the young pitchers and injuries but I'm proud of our little team that could. ShortstopVM
So, Gary, Keith, and Ron were talking about the Boudreau Shift not too long ago during tonight's telecast (the Mets are on the road in Fenway Park). "Fun" fact: The Boudreau Shift would be banned under Manfred's rules proposal limiting defensive shifts. Overshifts similar to the one Boudreau used are still being played today, especially against hitters who are so good at hitting the ball to one side of the field. This is how stupid and short-sighted Manfred's proposed rules changes are.
ShortstopVM
The possibility that we could have a NLDS with two 100-win teams... LOL at anyone calling for the Postseason to be rEsEeDed; I don't like the idea of a single-elimination WC round either, but the system is working as the League intended it to be: Don't want your season to come down to one game? Win your division. Them's the rules; I can't believe that we're actually having to argue this . No need to re-seed; let's not stoop down to the NBA's level... What that told me was that Houston's hitting would likely overpower the White Sox pitching, making the Astros the favorites to win. Houston led MLB in hitting and in defense at the end of the regular season, so they really have shown that if they can keep that up, and their pitching goes well, they could potentially win it all. The Astros also won 5 out of 7 games this season against the Red Sox, so the Red Sox will have to hope that their starting pitchers and their bullpen do really well during four of their games against the Astros, because that may be the only way they can win against them is to keep their offense from getting going.
