They cut the most interesting contestant this year. Other than him Alanis was the best. Casey is NOT ready for prime time. should have waited a few years to mature. yet you can say it about more than half of who they put through.. and they kicked Murphy out!? like WTF!?

what roots? in the old idol days at least up till season 7/8 they still had more older contestants than teens. mostly because simon didn't like them or thought they weren't ready. they were more focused on the 20 year old: bo bice, michael johns, adam lambert, david cook, carly smithson, brooke white, constantine maroulis, chris daughtry, taylor hicks...

but they still had older contestants. this year it seems they favor they younger ones. also the judges comments this year are more critical the older the contestant is.

neither. paula was still better than both. so that tells how bad they are. they don't feel authentic and objective in their criticism. the only thing they care is they are been paid million to be on TV and do nothing.

Murphy, Nia renee and Anthea grace didn't make top 24 and they were the only interesting ones for me.. the list looks like school field trip. maybe they should have change the name of the show to teen idol. did they have anything against older contestants? because the comments they made to everyone over 20 something made me think they don't want older than 20.. maybe HR told them what demographic they need after failing with the last 3 winners.. someone they could control and mold..

so far the top 24 this season pales in comparison to last year. they should have done a redo of season 18. curious as to what happened to Sam and why she wasn't signed. kind of explained why she deleted everything on her instagram (it is all back now..) wonder if they will invite her to sing on the show like laine and maddie.

I agree with the OP. idol lost its spark or soul or whatever you want to call it when Paula and then Simon left and they started bringing celebrity judges. season 9/10 was the beginning of the end and the attention shifted from the contestants to the judges. the talent was still there but the labels weren't invested in them like before. HR is the worst of them. what's the point winning ABC idol if there won't even try to get you an album and promote it!? P.S. does anyone knows what happened to Sam? was she even signed or did they let her go without nothing? P.S. 2 will they invite season 18 contestants to perform on the show this year? many of them have new singles out or working on new music..

based on the you tube channels not impressed with any of them. the guys suck this season. some girls have potential but too many teens.
