My 'full report' from last night: Just in case you had any doubt, Scotty killed it last night before a packed house of 19K+ old and new fans! Note: Other than Scotty's performance at the Opry in December, this is the first time Phil & I have seen Scotty 'live' since his SRO concert at the Ryman in March of 2020. And wow, have we missed that voice and personal charm -- he really has become an AMAZING showman and the crowd loved every moment! My only complaint -- the set was waaaay too short. Can't wait to attend a full 90-minute concert down the road! Aside: Apologies for the lack of photos, but given the lights and layout we just couldn't get a decent shot... That said, we did get a fun surprise during the intermission between Megan and Scotty's sets. It turns out that we were sitting in the middle of a sizable contingent of DJs/execs from Country radio stations in both Indiana and Ohio, including heavyweight WHKO Dayton/7.0. ... To say that I had a blast talking 'shop' with these industry gatekeepers/movers-and-shakers would be understatement. Of course, the best part was hearing each and everyone of them gush about what an amazing person Scotty is -- they kept calling him one of the REALLY good guys -- someone they're proud to support! ...
