Here’s how I ranked the 16 contestants after watching them twice:

 

1.  Olivia — she not only brought her voice but also her dance moves, putting on the best show, in my opinion.
2.  Grace — she was the better of the two female country singers.
3.  Sophia — she showed a new, sassy side to her and the risk paid off.
4.  Aliana — this was her best performance yet.
5.  Lauren Spencer-Smith — she killed “Respect”!
6.  Arthur — the best of the guys in this segment.
7.  Makayla — she really sang the heck out of that song!
8.  Lauren Mascitti — she was very good but Grace was better.
9.  Cyniah — not my favorite song from her but she did well enough to move on.
10.  Kimmy — she did well enough to move on but the judges want more from her.  I hope she can deliver.
11.  Franklin — he did well enough to move on but it was just very good.
12.  Julia — her voice was a little hoarse but she did well enough to move on.
13.  Demi Rae — I have to wonder if the judges cut her because they wanted her to become more confident as a performer.
14.  Genavieve — she sang it quite well but her song choice might have been too predictable and that might explain the apparent lack of connection.
15.  Shannon — this just wasn’t good enough at this point in the competition.
16.  Robert — he put on a show, but sometimes too much is really too much!
