  1. Good to see we now have a starting date for Season 12. Also 2 weeks for the whole of Season 12? That's very short. I remember in the early seasons that Blind Auditions were still airing after 2 weeks. Brings back memories of when me and my sister would sit on office chairs while watching the Blinds. At the start of each performance, we would have our backs to the TV, wait for the artist to start singing and then spin ourselves around at some point, usually whenever the first Coach pressed their button to turn around.
  2. Just sent in my Season 13 application! Hopefully this one has a better outcome considering I tried to apply for Season 12 after the applications had closed.
  3. Not that I'm aware of. Australia has always had a single season within a year and applications for the next season would normally open just before the Finals for the current season aired on TV. It's really odd that they've opened the 2024 applications before the 2023 season has yet to air.
  4. I find it rather odd that the applications for Season 13 opened before Season 12 has aired or been given a premiere date. Maybe they are changing to the US format which has 2 seasons within the same year
  5. Starting this thread after finding out that The Voice Australia has been greenlit for a 13th Season and applications are open even though Season 12 hasn't primered yet which is rather odd. Some people in the Season 12 thread are wondering if Channel 7 & ITV Studios are possibly looking at changing to the US format which has 2 seasons within the same year. Let the conversation begin!
  6. Thanks! I've started my application
  7. I've had a talent for singing since 2011 but it wasn't until early 2023 when I made the decision to unleash it. Here's the story of how I found my hidden talent. 2010 While at school, I would often express myself by singing my own songs that were a combination of meaningless gibberish, repurposed words and some proper English. I would also "Play" the tunes for these songs by tapping or banging on the walls of the school buildings (sometimes to the dismay of the teacher and students inside) I ended up creating and memorising almost 15 songs which only existed in my head as glorified brain signals. 2011 I discovered that I was surprisingly bright in learning through music after doing something called the Smarts Test which is an educational tool that gives a rough indication of what ways you learn the best. When I did the test, Music, Visual & Self were my top 3 although not in that order. A few months later, we had a whole school production and this is when I began to notice that I was smarter in the Music area of the Smarts Test than what I originally thought. During this time, the number of fictional songs in my head had dropped to 7 or 8 as a result of not being able to remember the tunes and words. 2012 No school production and a new classroom building caused my interest in music to drop and by the middle of the year, I could only remember the words and tunes for 3 of the once 15 songs I had created in 2010. 2013 My second whole school production resparked my talent and at the end of the year, it was resparked further with the graduation songs I still remembered the 3 fictional songs that stuck with me. 2014-2016 Not much happened during this time except for the rise in popularity of break-up songs, much to my dismay. 2017-2019 Also a fairly quiet time song wise but on the good side, the break-up songs started to fall out of fashion. 2020-2022 The pandemic hit and my mental health took a turn for the worst. I did love the Covid-19 parody songs that some people made. In 2022, I discovered that advancements in computer software made it easier for non famous people to record and release their own songs. This was also the year that I started writing my own songs based on my personal experience with autism. I then had a break due to more mental health issues. 2023 This is the year I finally decided to reveal my hidden talent for singing by doing a rendition of Find Yourself by Brad Paisley as part of an online application for The Voice Australia 2023 which I unknowingly submitted without realising that applications had already closed. I resumed work on my songs and entered the world of musical notation software which allowed me to create what will become the instrumental backing tracks for my songs. I then found Idol Forums and my motivation has continued to grow. Most recently, I came up with an amazing idea of using the fictional tunes I created back in 2010 as the tunes for my songs. I'm hoping to find a music/singing school so I can improve my singing and unleash my talent to its fullest potential for when I record my songs and re-apply for The Voice.
  8. Just wanted to say thanks to the people in this thread who helped me figure out the confusion with my application. Looking forward to the new season and I'll probably sign up to the MyCasting E-mail alerts so I know when the applications for 2024 are open. MyCasting has quite the habit for keeping forms online after the applications for a show have closed. I actually found a fully functional MyCasting link for The Voice 2011 which really shows that they don't bother with taking down redundant application forms. Just like you said, the next post on the Facebook page was indeed the first promo which was uploaded to Twitter a couple of days earlier. The Facebook page is also looking much better and the comment section for the promo is free of spam
  9. Thankfully I don't have any songs stuck in my head (yet)
  10. Hopefully I'll have better luck next season. I don't want a repeat of what happened this year. It'll also give me time to improve my singing and have a better chance of getting accepted.
  11. Thanks. That clears things up heaps. I’m guessing that at the time I put the application in, the person/people who told me that applications were still open probably just opened the link without actually submitting anything and mistakenly thought that they were still open and assumed that the producers were low on applicants and posted the link with the incorrect assumption alongside it, making me think that applications were still open when they were actually closed. On another topic, it’s sad that they aren’t doing live finals anymore and that the duration of the newer seasons is very short. The new format also caused a drop in ratings and viewership. I miss the old Channel 9 years when the show was at its peak. It was so much better back then. Now I’m wondering if there will even be a season 13 when you consider the decline in ratings.
  12. Something doesn't add up. The current state of the Facebook page is a telltale sign that it's owners aren't maintaining it anymore. TV shows have been cancelled after filming and never aired. I can see the pattern showing with the neglected Facebook page and lack of promos. The Voice isn't even in the list of upcoming shows on Channel 7. ITV Australia and MyCasting have not been helpful either. ITV did not respond at all and MyCasting only got me a reply that looked to have been copy-pasted from a database of automated responses.
  13. I don't understand. I applied and heard nothing whatsoever. Did I miss something or am I yet to be notified?
  14. I know that there's already a thread for Season 12 of The Voice Australia but the show is facing a very uncertain future and no premiere date has been announced so I decided that a seperate thread was needed because of how uncertain the show's future is. Online applications were supposed to close in September 2022 but remained open until February 2023 because of low numbers. Some sources suggested that Season 12 would premiere in May or June of 2023 with filming of the non-live portions taking place throughout March & April. I completed my online application back in February and have heard nothing back. In late May, I sent an E-mail directly to ITV Studios Australia, the show's producer and got no response. The Facebook page for The Voice Australia hasn't been updated since March and is now overrun with spam. Most recently, the page has started suffering from severe neglect by its owners, ITV Studios International. The Community tab has been taken down and it's link is completely gone. (It is not known if the removal of the Community tab was done by ITV or Facebook.) The photo gallery and a mentions tab with bumped up posts from 2021 are still online The main page has also suffered from neglect and spam. The side panel that shows how many people like and follow the page is gone with only the rounded off numbers appearing at the top. The link for the promo video is dead and the Page Info panel is rather blank looking with an empty placeholder for some kind of price range that's oddly in British Pounds. It also appears that ITV Studios International has transferred the page's ownership to Dutch subsidiary ITV Studios Holding B.V. and has not been re-verified. Anything related to ITV, its subsidiaries or Channel 7 no longer bares a blue checkmark with only the page title (The Voice Australia) retaining a blue checkmark. I have not been notified about my online application and the page with the link to the application form is still online as of June 11, 2023. This is making me think that the show has been canned due to a lack of applicants and viewer interest. This assumption lines up with the irregular activity on the Facebook page which I think may be in the process of getting deleted entirely. Nothing about Season 12 exists on 7Plus or any of the TV guides. What I've observed with the Facebook page, lack of replies to applications and E-mails, community tab removal and the absence of The Voice related programing are giving me a very strong lead that the show has been cancelled. Any information regarding the future of The Voice Australia would be greatly appreciated. The lack of information has been making me very anxious and I can't find any answers.
  15. Hi, my name is Cameron and I'm from Australia. Thanks for letting me be a part of this forum! I'm autistic and have a hidden talent for singing. Currently, I'm working on writing songs which are based off my real life experience as an autistic person. After finding this forum, I knew it would be a great place for me to get help and advise with the process of writing, recording and ultimately, releasing my songs. At the time of writing this, I've finished the lyrics for one of my songs and have started playing around with musical notation software. I can't wait to see how far I get with my goal of releasing my songs and figured that this forum would be the perfect place for helping start my journey towards my ultimate goal of releasing my songs and fully unleashing my hidden talent and passion for singing.
