  1. Wait how do you know everyone's home already? Hahaha I think I only follow a few contestants so I'm not fully up-to-date. It does make sense though - they'll filmed the playoffs and showdowns so they're still a couple weeks in advance (there's 3 episodes of playoffs next week and maybe 2 eps of showdowns the following week)? Considering most of the state's borders are open now, they're probably able to fly in and out freely so they might not be doing live shows until later on.
  2. If you look at Matt & Janie's new IG account they have a video which says they had a 20-min discussion and 18 mins were them thinking of saying no. However, apparently Delta came up to them at the end (wasn't shown on TV) and spoke about why she wanted them to stay. I think it was something to do with Matt & Janie both being young artists and obviously no-one wants to go home this early on (not to mention they sounded great together!). For the newbies especially, this experience is a huge learning curve so even if they're not singing individually, just progressing further into the competition and having a chance to sing in front of a national audience is probably worth pairing up. They might split and go solo after the competition ends, but maybe the thinking is that going to the finals as a duo is better than one of them leaving after just one round.
  3. They did sound really good!! Funny thing is on Matt's IG he did say he's in Perth right now. I'm pretty sure they've just finished filming playoffs and showdowns and haven't started the lives - that would probably mean he's eliminated right considering he's flown back home
  4. So Delta chose Jesse and then saved Steve! Boy George saved Sapphire after Kelly picked Chris as the winner. There's only 1 more save left!! It'll probably get used next episode
  5. I know!! It honestly seems so shocking to me, but it's definitely going to be Delta asking them to be a duo. Judging by the fact that both of them have been seen in Sydney over the past few days hanging out with the other Voice contestants, I'm guessing they'll agree to try. At least that gives us some hope that Steve may be saved by Detla (there's no way Delta's letting go of Jesse that quickly so he'll be the winner)
  6. I think it's definitely Matt and Janie forming a duo - I've also seen photos on IG of them 2 with Graeme so that's potentially a match-up for the playoffs. Matt and Janie vs Graeme Their pink outfits in that teaser did look good together - maybe they did sound good together?
  7. Thought it would be interesting to note that the coaches who were blocked from getting contestants are saving them: Clarissa the opera singer was on George's team after he blocked Delta from pitching in the blinds. Now, Delta's got Clarissa on her team! Delta blocked Guy from getting Matt Gresham and now he's on Guy's team
  8. From what I've heard, Delta is definitely talking about forming a duo rather than just taking both contestants through separately. I can see there might be potential for Janie and Matt, but it still feels awfully weird to me! I guess it shouldn't be such a surprise though - X Factor has successfully formed bands like One Direction and Little Mix by putting strangers together. I think we're just not used to it because usually there's some kind of connection - Jess & Matt and Luke & Tannah being husband and wife.
  9. I've heard from someone who was at the taping that she asks a battle to become a duo - but I'm not clear if they agreed or said no. Do you think Jesse and Steve? I don't think Delta would ask them to form a duo, seeing as they're so different and don't really match the 'boy band' look like Bo'Ness does. That pair seems even more unlikely than Janie and Matt - unless it's possibly Emmagen and Callum? None of those battle pairings really scream out 'form a duo' to me, so it's strange that she's asked that of the contestants. I understood last year with the husband and wife duo auditioning separately and then later on being asked to be a duo, but I'm a little bit confused about this decision.
  10. Looking at the description for next Sunday's battle episode: 'The Battles continue with another Coach breaking the rules that causes chaos for two Voice favourites' I think Delta asks if Matt and Janie want to become a duo - but looking at their styles it doesn't really click to me. Maybe after viewing the battle it'll be clearer? But it's definitely a bit weird to me.
  11. https://spectroworld.com/episodes/the-voice-australia-season-9-episode-12/ This site's pretty good to watch episodes online
  12. You're right - I completely forgot about Chris! Kelly's pitted Chris against Sapphire so that's gonna be hard! No doubt Chris will get through - but Kelly's used up all her saves and I don't think Delta or George would save Sapphire. It'll be interesting to see how Chris goes - he'll definitely get through to the finals. I think the fact that his brother's a coach will be more of a hindrance when the public starts voting, so I think he has an okay chance of going to the grand finale but definitely won't win. You're absolutely right about George - I think both Delta and George usually don't have the 'strongest' teams after the blinds but they certainly know how to pick song choices that let their artists' shine.
  13. Interesting to see how snarky Guy was last night when apologising to his contestants. He should have apologised for his behaviour instead of blaming the other coaches and saying they didn't know what they were saying. I absolutely laughed when the coaches could hear what he was saying! I found it annoying that they ended the episode on Sunday with Kelly walking off. I know it's all for the drama and ratings, but it made Kelly look like such a villain, when in fact she had literally left for a few moments to say that the whole fight was pointless and that they should all just move on. I wonder what the so-called 'twist' will be - it'll most likely just be Delta picking both of them to move on, seeing as she still has 1 save left. Can't wait to see what everyone's reactions will be - I think it'll be fine seeing as Kelly and Guy have used up both their saves and George only has 1 left.
  14. Guy seems to be the can-do-no-wrong coach in a lot of people's eyes! Maybe it's because he doesn't have as strong a personality as the other 3, so Aussies like the laid-back persona. Facebook definitely seems to be on his side but Twitter was absolutely slamming him on Sunday. I think what Mason said was fine - Darren had asked if he had anything to say to the coaches before they chose whether or not to save him. Seeing as they criticised the way he performed and felt like he wasn't giving it everything, it makes sense that he wants a coach to teach him how to be more 'passionate'. In my opinion, that's definitely something you can teach - you could see Delta teaching the girls last night how to be more confident and look as they were meant to be up onstage. Maybe because Mason's a bit 'older', they thought it wasn't possible? Age doesn't necessarily equal experience though.
  15. Absolutely! I do remember Guy screwed around with his artists last year in the finals when there were some strong contenders on his team to win. Johnny just seems so unproblematic and his voice suits so many different genres. I think Stellar's got a good chance! Her vocals are so strong but she also has so much rawness and emotion in her voice as well. If Delta gives her the right song choices like Boy George did for Diana, I can definitely see her winning or at least making it right till the end. I do think the winner will be from Delta or Guy's team - there's no-one I've seen so far from George and Kelly's teams that really stands out yet.
  16. He's certainly made some very questionable song choices, however just based on Johnny and Adam's talent/voices they will be contenders to make it into the grand finale. Both don't have the same 'baggage' as Jack Vidgen and it really seems like Johnny's a favourite. Unfortunately, the next rounds don't allow for swapping contestants. I think they get wildcards after playoffs which is just picking a contestant from their own team who didn't win their playoff.
  17. I do agree that it's most likely her choosing to take them both through - Janie and Matt would make a very unlikely duo so she wouldn't pair them up. Depending on whether George steals someone on Sunday or leaves it until the last ep of battles, I don't think the decision will be too controversial. Kelly and Guy have already used up their 2 saves and I highly doubt George is wanting to save either Janie or Matt. I'm so torn about Steve Clisby being out so quickly!! Jesse will definitely win in that battle - I don't see Steve winning it especially since Jesse was such a recent All-Star and there's obviously a lot of love for him, especially now that Natasha passed away.
  18. Anybody have spoilers as to what the twist is next week? I could see Matt Evans and a girl (not sure who it was)? My guess is maybe she'll form a duo?
  19. Oh gosh just looking at the promo again for the battle (and knowing how that awful 3-way battle sounds) - I'm getting a bit confused that the are coaches talking about cheating and how there's 3 people in the battle. Of course Guy was going to have a 3-way battle - the main problem is more so that the song choice clearly didn't suit some of the contestants. Perhaps they've cut bits and pieces of the coaches arguing but Guy has shown once again this season that no matter how strong your team is after the blind auditions, crap song choices can ruin your entire team.
  20. Exactly! It would have been a difficult battle for any coach, but it was worth an attempt by Guy - Kelly's battle with the opera singer and rapper last year was a great example. Guy didn't even try with Bukhu, he let Johnny shine and Bukhu was his accompaniment
  21. I have got to say your comments pretty much hit the nail on the head!! It was a pretty underwhelming night of battles for me, but tonight there's some interesting battles with great voices. Totally agree that Bukhu should have started without any accompaniment - he only needed a verse to really assert his place in the battle but wasn't even given that by Guy. The more Guy tried to defend himself the worse it became for him Making it a TV moment rather than a competition? That tells us Bukhu had no chance of winning and was purely there for entertainment. Saying that Bukhu didn't put his hand up wanting to sing more and didn't label himself as a 'pop' artist - Guy, your job is to mentor them, you should have given them fair playing ground instead of relying on Bukhu to speak up for himself when it's his first time having any face-to-face contact with you. Nobody was labelling Bukhu as a pop artist, the coaches were only saying that the battle was imbalanced because Bukhu only got to sing a few measly lines in the middle whilst Johnny sang pretty much the whole song.
  22. I'm so excited for Delta's team tonight: Stellar vs Matt singing Miley Cyrus' Slide Away - their promo sounded epic! Stellar will definitely win but it'll be interesting to see if anyone saves him Claudia vs Maddy singing Dreams - I can't see Maddy winning this against Claudia but I could be proven wrong! Just glad that Claudia and Janie weren't battling against each other, they seemed to be the likely pairing but I like them both too much for one of them to be gone this early! Guy's 3-way battle will be very interesting. Wolf will definitely be the winner - but the song choice is questionable if Old Town Road really is their song. Natalie and Xy are not country/rap sounding at all, but Wolf's voice will fit perfectly. I can already imagine him singing the 'I got the horses in the back...' part
  23. Haha I don't think she knows he has an Instagram - she follows all of her artists except him. Also note that she followed Clarissa and Bo'Ness - maybe that's her other save?
  24. Loved watching Stellar and Matt's battle preview!!! They're both powerhouses and I'm really looking forward to that song choice. Wtf was Guy thinking???? Old Town Road definitely suits Wolf WInters in that low register - I can see him doing the 'horses in the back' part but that's a shit song choice for the other 2. Judging from the promos it's another thing all the other coaches disagree on.
  25. I would actually say Kelly was portrayed to be the villain this time - the promos showed her walking off while Guy was saying 'this is so disrespectful' I can't comment about the Wolf extra contestant situation - I don't think producers would have deliberately 'set him up' for that and nudgd him to turn around when his team was already full. I think that was definitely Guy's decision to turn around for Wolf
