Looking at social media I no longer think Stellar's a shoo-in for the winner - she hasn't got as much public support as I thought she would. Also interesting to see who Delta will take to the semi-finals - Clarissa's song choice is perfect however will Delta take an opera singer to the semi-finals over someone like Stellar/Jesse, knowing that an opera singer isn't everyone's cup of tea?

I know COVID has impacted filming for the show, but I really wish they did the semi-finals and final differently. The fact that we don't get a choice in who goes to the grand final is disappointing - e.g. I think it should be Mark, Timothy, Stellar, and either Johnny/Jesse. However seeing as each coach gets to take one through, I'm betting Kelly will pick Chris, Guy will choose Tim, George will pick Siala and Delta will pick Stellar

I have to say the addition of 2 hosts still hasn't made sense to me - it seems like they take it in turns getting coaches feedback after performances so they're never utilised at the same time? It's not like DWTS where there's a host on the ballroom getting judges feedback and then another one upstairs for the scoring - we hardly saw Renee and Darren in the blinds, and so far in the battles/playoffs it could easily be a 1-person job.

Interesting that the promo for next week says 'Australia, you vote... you decide who goes through to the grand finale' - I'm not sure that's entirely correct. Seeing as they filmed the grand final today, I don't think they got all the semi-finalists to perform a song and filmed 8 'winner' reactions. My guess is the coaches have already picked their top artist and therefore the 4 grand-finalists have already been decided. Public voting will most likely only be done for the winner

Looking from that perspective I totally agree with you! It's a good idea - Delta keeps saying she needs to see fire from Stellar and to not get too emotional. By singing an uplifting song like that it also shows she's versatile. From what I've previously seen (she has some music on Spotify under a different name) I'm pretty sure the music Stellar used to release was much more electro-pop rather than emotional ballads.

Absolutely! Chris smashed Jealous in his blinds and now he's doing Attention by Charlie Puth? It just seems a bit too monotonous and safe for me. No doubt Kelly will pick him anyway

I'm intrigued at the decision to make contestants choose their own song - it's a good idea considering filming of the playoffs and showdowns were so close together that contestants choosing a song they're familiar with makes it less stressful. This also relieves the coaches of song choice criticism and no-one can be blamed for giving a particular artist a dreadful song when the contestant has to make their own decision. They can also pick their Top 2 without having to think about whether their song choice let the artist down.

Did anyone understand what the voting process is? How are we voting for who goes in the grand final when that's already been filmed? I'm pretty sure public voting is only open for who wins the competition

I have to say there's no clear winner for me yet - I really thought Stellar was the one to beat however her choosing to sing Madonna's Like a Prayer doesn't really showcase her voice. Johnny once again sounds like he's doing too much - his tone is nice that he doesn't need to do so many runs. Haha I love that he's doing a Guy song - trying to earn some brownie points isn't he!? The promo also confirms that we go from 5 contestants on each team down to 2.

Looking at one of the producer's IG stories today, it seems to confirm that today is the last day of filming so they'll be pre-recording the grand final. Darren also mentioned he's going to the snow this week/next week, so I'm guessing he'll be holidaying after finishing The Voice and we'll all see who the winner is live in 2 weeks

I think Delta and Guy were right about her lacking the fire and being too emotional - it's actually a pretty good lesson to make Stellar realise how much she wants to stay in the competition (obviously Delta will give Stellar her wildcard). Interesting that she picks Jesse over Stellar in the playoffs but most likely will choose Stellar as her grand finalist

Reading the news.com.au spoilers, it looks like the contestant is salty at losing the playoff and reacting badly. Saying 'I didn't want to come on the show in the first place' just reflects badly on that person - even if producers scouted you, no-one forced you to say yes. Be happy that you made it this far- no-one promised you would be taken all the way to the grand final.

Very interesting that Kelly gave Chris 24K Magic - it's not a song which really showcases vocals but I guess it can show a different side to Chris, who we've seen doing mostly slow ballad-y type songs.

Jesse's definitely weaker vocally but I have to say he really surprised me. Apart from the climax when she sings 'nothing has to change... I love you', I felt like Stellar's performance wasn't as good as Jesse's on the whole. I think Stellar needs to learn how to show emotion without being overcome with it so much that it ruins her performance - Stellar will definitely be Delta's wildcard though and I think she's Delta's pick for the grand final. These wildcards/saves really do come in handy - had there not been a wildcard that decision may have been different.

Haha I saw this too! Based on the preview we got of tomorrow's episode, I wonder what the coaches said to Soma to make her question if their advice was 'genuine'. I think Delta's definitely not sold on Soma's voice considering she didn't turn for her in the blinds, but Guy seemed to really love her. It'll be interesting to watch Stephanie vs Soma

Absolutely - I heard a sneaky 'I've got you' from Delta after Stellar was pleading her case for why she should be the wildcard. Not that Jesse isn't deserving of the win, but I do think Stellar will be there until the end but needs a bit more fire to make it to the grand finals. This might not be totally accurate, but judging from Jesse's IG stories it looks like he's back home (he lives in Tassie so would have been in a hotel if he was still in Sydney). That pretty much cements our thinking that Delta chose Stellar for the grand final (Matt has said he's in Perth and Clarissa is so talented but wouldn't be the best choice as a grand finalist)

I think Guy will give his wildcard to either Matt or Wolf, though Guy doesn't seem to have much faith in Wolf. George's wildcard will probably be between Elyse and whoever loses out of Virginia and Sapphire. Delta's is obviously Stellar - though Claudia is a close second I can't see Delta not take Stellar through to the next round.

It'll be interesting to see who Kelly picks as her 2 wildcards - seeing as she's definitely not taking Jimi and Elishia, she's left with Bo'Ness, Despina and presumably Lyric (Chris will win that playoff). Who do you think will miss out on her wildcard? I think Despina's a shoo-in for her wildcard, but I'm not sure if Bo'Ness or Lyric should get the other one

Now that I've heard both Jesse and Stellar's full performances, I do think Jesse just edged her. Delta was right about needing to see Stellar 'fight' for it more - so far all her performances have gotten her emotional, and that's not at all a bad thing, but it takes away from her performance a bit and she gets a tiny bit pitchy

Same here - before hearing the previews I would have easily picked Claudia. Janie & Matt really surprised me and sound so good together. There's no real big spoilers either - Matt was definitely back in Perth about a week ago but that makes sense - for the semi-finals if Delta can only pick her 2 strongest contestants it would most likely be Stellar + Jesse. Claudia was amazing in the blinds but I think her voice sounds a bit weak singing Running Back. It almost sounds like she's out of breath

Did you hear the preview of Jesse and Stellar's performances? The parts they decided to preview aren't the best - we all heard Stellar sounding so beautiful in The Voice ads, but you don't really hear that from the preview the website gives.

Yep - it's interesting that many of the stand-outs in the blinds seem to fade away quickly! I'm guessing Delta might still pick Claudia, though Janie & Matt did so much better than I thought they would! This one is definitely her closest play-off, both acts deserve to go through. I can sense that if she lets Janie & Matt go tonight viewers would be disappointed that she decided to make them a duo and kicked them out next round.
