I don't think they get 'wildcards' in the battles which have just aired. Elishia was Kelly's first save in the battles. The next round is when each coach chooses a winner from their 4 playoffs and then gets to pick a wildcard from the 4 that lost. My guess is a few contestants can't make it to Sydney for filming (blinds and battles were filmed in Feb/March however playoffs only just finished earlier this month), which might be why Elyse can be seen in the promos even though she lost to Adam. Some people have also said that Xy has been seen with other contestants when they were in rehearsals so he might be a possible comeback as well

Hahah yeah Kelly was really regretting using her saves so quickly! But even when voices aren't very strong they'll pick someone to go through anyway. My guess is that the overseas coaches don't really have much input with the match-ups and song (I think Marcia Hines is the guest mentor for Kelly's team) so she decides that both of them are weak and gets to let both contestants through in another playoff.

Oooo you might be right! Just trying to think who her partner would be - I think it's very strange that Kelly decides not to take either of them through, considering she was the one who saved Elishia in the first place!

I reckon it'll either be Angela or Roxanne - Caleb seems to feature in a lot of photos with the other contestants and he's been regularly posting on social media so I don't think he withdraws. Where do Angela and Roxanne live? Potentially it could also be about living interstate or maybe they didn't want to leave family to travel back to Sydney for filming?

Also it looks like they're filming again for the show today - some of the assistants for The Voice look to be on set and the host's make-up artist was also preparing. Potentially that might mean some contestants who flew back home were eliminated in the playoffs/showdowns?

I definitely agree with all these match-ups - the lighting makes it hard to see who the other competitor is, especially because when they're not performing they have to stand in that 'booth'. Clarissa's partner looks definitely like Graeme- I think people were saying Stellar's partner could be seen in the TV promo which aired last night (not the same as the promo Channel 9 have uploaded).

I actually don't think so! After reading the description for the playoffs, it says that they're competing for a spot in the Top 20. Top 20 would include the wildcards, seeing as there are 4 winners from each team + 1 wildcard. So I'm guessing all the wildcards get through like last year. Perhaps the showdown is just each contestant performing and the coach eliminating one person from their team?

They have a wildcard!! So after the 4 winners of the play-offs are announced, they get to pick one person who lost to come back to the 'showdowns'. The wildcard must be chosen from their own team though.

Team Delta Stellar Perry vs Jesse Teinaki Clarissa Spata vs Graeme Issako Claudia Harrison vs Emmagen Rain Steve Clisby vs Janie and Matt I really hope it's this! We know it's definitely Clarissa vs Graeme, and most likely Stellar vs Jesse/Janie & Matt, but I would really want Stellar, Claudia, Clarissa and both Jesse and Janie & Matt to get through (whoever loses against Stellar should get the wildcard between Jesse and Janie & Matt) I don't want an Emmagen vs Steve match-up as I think they're probably Delta's weakest contestants

Also I've been terribly guilty of this, but contestants posting photos together with other contestants over the past 2 weeks is definitely not a sign that they went through to the playoffs!! I swear I've seen Sebastian Coe hanging out with so many contestants (he even posted a photo with Claudia and Adam on his IG story today), however we all now know he didn't make it past the battles.

Agreed!! Haha depending on Kelly's outcome for the play-offs that could set a new precedent - that could have meant Delta didn't take Callum or Emmagen through and entered Janie and Matt as solo artists. I'm thinking one of the contestants is Lyric - when Kelly asks Darren what happens after she refuses to take either of them through, there was a tiny clip of Darren and a lady standing next to him in a blue dress. That could possibly be Lyric (a tiny glimpse at 1:01 )

I can't see the part with Stellar's match-up - but if you saw a guitar it's most likely Stellar vs the duo then. Me too, I don't want either of them to leave yet!! I'm so upset that Delta has been matching her best together - Emmagen should definitely be eliminated in the playoffs as she's miles behind compared to the rest of her team. The match-ups are seriously so crucial - and Kelly deciding not to choose either of her contestants will be a big deal. I wonder if that's the reason why Elyse can be seen in the promo, or if Kelly can bring both artists through in a playoff

The preview for the playoffs looks so chaotic!! I like what they've done with the virtual chairs and audience, but the contestants are having it rough. People forgetting lyrics, saying 'I can't do it', Kelly deciding not to take either of her contestants through, and Elyse possible making a comeback!?!? But Stellar sounded absolutely sensational!!!

I just saw on Sebastian Coe's IG that he's with Adam (Team Guy) and Claudia (Team Delta), and they're all from interstate. Perhaps they're still continuing filming then?

Exactly what I thought!! And very interesting to see how the playoffs will work - especially because you can see the 'telephone booth' style boxes in the teaser which I presume are for the contestants to sing on due to social distancing. Graeme is much more of a 'dancer' so he would be moving quite a lot. Based on that match-up, surely Janie & Matt would be the winner. Graeme's a great entertainer for sure, but vocally he's not as refined

Anyone have the promo for the playoffs they aired at the end? The promo at the end of the 9Now episode only shows teasers for tomorrow's battles, but doesn't show the playoffs and what's happening with the virtual coaches on the chairs

This sounds weird but I can't seem to find anything on their social media to point out that they're back home? I think Chris Sebastian lives in Sydney doesn't he? Though Matt did delete his story about being 2 hrs behind because he's in Perth. You could definitely be right about everyone flying back home though.

Anyone wanna take a guess at who the 'fan-favourite/s' will be sent home tomorrow? I can definitely see Adam, Tim, Emmagen, Masha and Mark all getting through - not too sure about Sebastian vs Nathan (I have seen Sebastian with other contestants over the past week so I'm sensing he gets through). I can't seem to think who the fan-favourite will be

Ahh makes sense Seeing as the interstate contestants are staying in a hotel it probably makes sense to fly them back in later when they record the finals instead of letting them stay in Sydney for 2-3 weeks. Also makes sense spoiler-wise: I've seen groups of them taking photos with fans/paps over the past week which sorta spoiled the battles (though most we could have guessed already).

Agreed! Janie was the obvious choice seeing as the song was more suited to her voice, but Matt really surprised me with how well he performed (especially when he couldn't even reach the high notes in rehearsals). Personally, I think Delta should have let one of them win and used her save on the other - I love Steve, but he didn't perform well in the battles and the only reason Delta saved him was because she has an emotional connection with him as an All-Star and also being a previous contestant of hers.
