  1. https://ototoy.jp/find/?q=the+voice+australia+2020 Listening to Janie & Matt as well as Claudia, I have to say based purely on these performances I would go with Janie & Matt. Claudia's voice sounds a bit weak when she's trying to emulate Vera Blue. Timothy and Matt's sound amazing!!! Matt's got such a great voice but it's a pity he's up against the strongest (in my opinion) on Guy's team.
  2. I know George was being funny but this time I felt there was no need to break the rules. Obviously a song like I Have Nothing suits a more technically-trained singer like Masha- if Elyse had been given a different song, her lack of experience (and that little slip-up towards the end) would not have been as noticeable. George may have picked Masha based on this performance but I don't think he'll choose her for the grand final.
  3. Perhaps - but at the end of the day there's no way Delta would choose Jesse over Stellar for her final spot. There's heaps of singers out there who don't have the strongest voices but ooze charisma and can 'perform', but going on a show like this really does focus on voices. Hearing a snippet of his song tonight, he's good but just doesn't have the tone to really stand out
  4. Oh yeah if it was up to the public he would have definitely had a chance - unfortunately because they're pre-recording all the shows the coaches are making all the decisions and Guy definitely doesn't seem as keen on Wolf. Even if he did get the wildcard Wolf wouldn't make it past the semi-finals because Guy will most likely pick Johnny/Timothy/Adam
  5. Agreed - Matt/Tim are deserving of the last spot, but I have a feeling Guy will choose Johnny. A bit controversial but I don't really get the appeal of Jesse - it's definitely emotional seeing him as an All-Star as he was the last to battle Natasha last year, but his vocals are not strong enough to be in the grand final. If you heard Jesse perform against Matt/Tim/Johnny, he would pale out in comparison. George's team is an interesting one - Masha is a strong vocalist but definitely not a fan favourite. The fact that she's already won before does not sit well with many. But looking at the rest of his team I think you might be right that he'll pick Masha. I would loveeeee if Mark went to the finals!! We'll finally have a rocker in the grand final! Chris is probably the obvious choice and Kelly definitely loves Chris, but I would be happy with Mark as well.
  6. Oooo I'm really liking all your guesses!! The only one I disagree with is taking Masha to the grand final - George might try to emulate what he did with Diana last year, but I don't think she has a chance of winning. Her vocals are strong but I just don't feel anything when she sings. If George is trying to do something different and 'trendier', I reckon he could go with Siala. I know she messed up last night but she's definitely the most unique in George's team.
  7. Just heard a preview of Mark singing it and it's perfect!! Well done Kelly on picking a great song
  8. Can I ask where you find these song choices? I had a look at The Voice Australia's Spotify page but it doesn't look like it's been released there yet. Is there someplace where you can find this before the episode airs?
  9. It makes sense why Kelly decides not to take either artist through for Elishia and Jimi's playoff. I wonder why she chose Jimi to save if Kelly was just going to kick him out anyway. I'm guessing they're performances are dismal for Kelly to do that?
  10. I think the only candidate who has a chance to 'win' on Team Guy is Timothy. Johnny was spectacular in the blinds but it's only gone downhill from there. Wolf may get a wildcard but his voice is too unpolished to make it to the grand final. Adam was again, great in the blinds but the song choices for him in battles/playoffs have been appalling and haven't showcased his voice at all.
  11. Yep I don't see a save here - to be honest, what's the point of even having wildcards if they're eliminating half the teams anyway? It's sad that we go from Top 20 to Top 8 within the space of 2 episodes. I would hate to be in the coaches' chairs - that's not enough air-time for the contestants and also unfair for the coaches to eliminate 3 of their 5 contestants in one round.
  12. To be honest even without Guy's 'controversial decisions' he would still not get the public vote. Any contestant whose brother is a coach would be treated the same way - but I don't think Chris really expects to win anyway, it's more to do with the exposure that appearing on a show like this gets you.
  13. Can I just say that Timothy vs Matt is absolutely cruel!!! They're both so similar in that they sing the same genre, but Timothy has such a special tone. Would be hard for Guy to eliminate Matt, who's a friend of his.
  14. 100% agree with you - if public voting decided who goes into the semi-finals and grand final, I think Timothy would definitely be in. I wonder if viewers' reactions and comments have affected their decisions - seeing as semi-finals were probably just filmed this past week, coaches have probably gauged who the fan favourites are. Johnny definitely stood out with his blind auditions, but Timothy's definitely the underdog. It's definitely a toss-up between the 2 for Team Guy
  15. Ahhh I see - I've definitely seen her featured in a lot of the promos! But yes I love her so much too! I disagreed with Guy's comment that it's always going to be 'controversial' or 'unfair' for anyone who is battling Johnny because he is such a powerhouse - it's more to do with the fact that Guy keeps giving crap song choices and unfair arrangements to the other contestant, which makes Johnny shine. Imagine if Wolf had sung The Sound of Silence instead of Dance Monkey - that would have been such a tough playoff.
  16. Me too!!! She's the one to watch out for definitely - Stellar and Timothy are my faves but knowing who's on Guy's team it's not a guarantee that he'll be in the grand final. If Chris does get to the grand final, I know a lot of people wouldn't vote for him solely because Guy's his brother.
  17. Haha what does TCO mean? But totally agree that Stellar is the most obvious choice. The Veronicas said that Siala was their favourite contestant, so I can definitely see her in the grand final. She's also very 'in trend' right now, though knowing The Voice audience is quite old, she probably won't get enough votes to win
  18. Yeah he does sound the same in every song he sings, however judging from social media everyone loves him. It'll be so tricky for Guy to pick his grand finalist!! His team is made up of strong male vocalists - Adam, Johnny, Timothy. I personally think Timothy deserves to be in the grand final, but Guy seems to really like Johnny.
  19. Personally, the fact that he was already a semi-finalist on America's Got Talent takes a bit of the shine away. I've gotten pretty sick of all his runs and over-singing, but viewers seem to still love him.
  20. It's confirmed that they're shooting the Grand Finale on Tuesday, with 4 possible endings shot so no-one knows who wins until they air it on the night (based on public voting). Anyone want to take guesses who each coach takes through to the grand final? My guesses are: Team Delta - Stellar (obvious choice) Team Kelly - Chris Sebastian (strongest vocally though having his brother as a coach may not sit well with voters) Team Guy - Timothy Bowen/Johnny (Timothy deserves it but Johnny is probably more of a 'fan favourite') Team George - absolutely no clue!!! It could be Angela/Masha/Siala
  21. Yep Emmagen and Steve are definitely Tuesday - Steve announced a few days ago that his playoff is airing on Tuesday. It's just Graeme and Clarrisa from Delta's team today.
  22. Interesting ratings battle between 3 reality juggernauts - Big Brother and The Voice will both be airing their grand finals on the same day (Sunday 19 July) and Masterchef's semi-final will also air that day as well (grand final most likely the next day). Tight battle for viewers to watch the grand finals of these shows.
  23. You're right - I just think it's horrible for the coaches to have to decide who leaves the show in the finals. I understand they do it for battles/play-offs, but once it gets down to your top 5 it would be brutal. I'm interested to know how they're going from Top 8 semi-finalists to the Top 4. Any ideas? Maybe coaches just pick their fave contestant? Or somehow they incorporate public voting into it? This might be the first time in a couple seasons where every coach has a grand finalist - usually when it's up to the public vote there's a coach who has 2 in the grand final and 1 coach who has none.
  24. Here's the description for next week's shows: Sun Jul 12, 2020 The Showdowns 1: The Showdowns begin. The Top 20 compete for a place in the Semi Final. Mon Jul 13, 2020 The Showdowns 2: The Showdowns continue. The final artists compete for the last 4 spots in the Semi Final. Tue Jul 14, 2020 Semi Final: The Top 8 compete for a place in the Grand Finale. Four will go through and four will go home. Plus Guy Sebastian and Daryl Braithwaite perform their new singles
  25. It really is brutal!! I agree with you - the wildcards just make it even more difficult. Instead of eliminating half your team it's now choosing 2 to stay and 3 to go. Also quite difficult to cram in 10 performances for each episode of the Showdowns and then 8 performances in the semi-finals. I wonder if ratings will go up or down - the finals usually don't rate as well because having singers do a performance each is apparently not as 'interesting' as 2 contestants duke it out on-stage.
