These results are shocking, Idol is trying its hardest to make me watch The Voice instead (and some of you already know how much I hate this season of TV )

Kaeyra was the standout for me. Loved We, Nailyah and Iam as well.

Idol usually pimps the hell out of people I don't like but so far Iam is great. I could see his "schtick" getting old eventually though

Really enjoyed Kaeyra and Nailyah  Warren was good too (I already like him more than Laine/Chayce/Noah...)

Iam (duh), Colin, Warren, Oliver, Wé and Marybeth should be fine I think. Michael and Matt will probably move on as well. Not sure about the others

The impression I got by reading those threads was that Lauren and Hunter were IDF's top 2. Maybe I'm wrong tho, the members who were present here at that time can correct me. I also got the impression that he was one of the least polarizing contestants that season. That poll also had 4 pages, in them 50% of the people ranked Hunter as #1, and majority of the other people had him in their top 3.

Yeah looks pretty accurate. They had the biggest followings after all.

Doo-Wop was great. Like you I didn’t care for A Song For You and Diamonds, but everything else was good (I actually enjoyed Lean On)  

ftr Vanessa was the only contesant who remained consistently towards the top of my rankings. I found her live run slightly underwhelming but only because her pre-lives were so good

Vanessa and Hunter were fun contestants, but the former was a bit inconsistent live I never got into the latter, even if he’s totally me-bait (his KO is one of my favorites though)

Regardless, they would be on my Top 3 from that season (them and Lauren)

Otherwise I agree. TSoul I wasn’t crazy about either, but I actually agreed with Blake picking him and I liked At This Moment.

As for Aliyah, I never thought she was that bad?? She had a great voice, and her first 4 performances + Jealous were very good imo.

Her live shows were extremely average but Blake did her so dirty with those song choices. Her T12 and T11 in particular were “Suds In The Bucket” levels of sabotage

Her finale performances sucked, I’ll give you that

I’m on the same boat but unlike you I thought Lauren won finale night 

S12 is a weird season for me, I still don’t know how to feel about it. I think the lives lacked “moments” and I didn’t really have a snowflake, but its Top 12 is one of the most solid across the board and I enjoyed everyone who made Top 8 at some point in the competition which is extremely rare.

Sundance was the best contestant from S11 but his "highs" pale in comparison with most winners', which is why I usually rank him towards the bottom.

I don’t know why Idol keeps bringing back the Luke/Lionel/Katy panel. None of them are funny, charming or even remotely likeable. 

Somewhat related to this: something I have noticed while watching The Voice’s most recent seasons is how often the camera cuts to the coaches during a performance. It didn’t bother me that much, but recently I have been revisiting the older seasons (thanks to FloorWax’s review thread) and the difference between a S5 KO and a S23 one is immense. It’s like watching a different show.
 

I get that the focus of the show is the coaches, but Jesus Christ. Let the contestants have their moment.

No big losses for me but the two girls should have moved on, at least based on their Top 26 performance. I’m guessing they didn’t have good edits?? (Didn’t watch Hollywood Week)
