Really fun audition! Super strong from start to finish. She definitely looks like someone I would root for
Â
PS: Karma Police in the KOs?? Such a cool song choice for her

Troy Ramey ofcÂ

Not great6. LVNDR
7. Laura (Might be the weakest 4-chair turn ever?? It’s certainly up there)
8. BIASÂ

Genuinely great auditions
1. Chechi
2. Noah - Crazy I know. Probably my favorite audition from a country male since Kameron’s (which was 9 seasons ago already, jfc)
Really solid3. RUDI - Some of the runs were unneeded but I thought that was a very strong vocal. Props.
4. Reid - I was unsure at first but it picked up towards the end, the rasp when he went for the higher notes was nice. Bonus points for the fresh song choice.
Â
Ok
5. Mac - Pleasant tone and he started strong but after the first 20 seconds or so I was out of it. Needed a bit more energy imo
Â
Ehhh
6. Stee - I guess it was technically fine? I just can’t stand the song and listening to it in 2023 is bizarre (it feels so dated)
7. Talakai - Truly one of the auditions of all time.
Â
Nope
8. Claudia - An attempt was made.

That was very impressive! Everyone will talk about the whistles (rightfully so) but her tone is so pretty. Not sure I’ll ever get invested in a contestant again, but she might come closeÂ- 8

Wonder how he’d feel about Haley’s Bennie and the JetsÂ
Anything less than an A+ would be wrongÂ
ÂHot take (?) but I like Haley’s rendition even more than the original.Â

Ruby was insane vocally, I wish I could stomach the song choice but oh well
Â
I’ll go against the flow here and say Juliette and Jenna were fine and the other two had very weak showings.
-
I guess I’ll give it a C.
ÂFor what it’s worth, that was a much better premiere than last season’s. Have to agree with IDF here, Mara and Alexa were the standouts (took me a few rewatches to fully get into the former but now I would say she won the night), but oddly enough I enjoyed all 3 country acts to some extent. Everyone else was either forgettable or a bit too green.
-
I winced when I saw the song choice but she did a good job. Want to see her singing something else next time before I jump into any conclusions (anything that showcases her voice really)

Welcome back! I’m not going in as blind as you, but I don’t really know what anyone sounds like spare a few people. IDF feels much better after taking a break.
Heyy! Yeah you are probably right, I was a bit burned out after last season after all -
Wow The Voice is on tonight?? I was going to miss it if I hadn’t seen a post from TV’s Twitter account
Â
Wasn’t planning to watch this season but it might be refreshing to tune in knowing absolutely nothing about it. At the very least I will post some stray thoughts here and there.
Â
(hope everyone’s doing well, haven’t been here in a while)

I know I said some time ago I didn’t care about who the coaches are but yikess that’s such a terrible line-up.
Â
Well S23 was probably my last season watching anyways so it’s not like it matters
-
That selection of runner-ups is lowkey terrible (that’s all I wanted to say, back to my break from IDF )

Maelyn had so many performances I would consider all-timers, which is pretty crazy considering how short her run was. Watching Mad World, The Scientist and Stay for the first time are some of my favorite and most memorable moments as a fan of the show.
Â
Kinda sad how anonymous she has been post-show.

Wait, So if I respectfully say Gyth should have won over Maelyn, I shouldn't get confused reactions?
That’s too extreme (and people wouldn’t take you seriously)  But if you just said you liked Gyth more than Maelyn I wouldn’t confise react you- 1

Idk why people are confuse reacting you, I wanted Gina to win too but she is definitely in the lower third at least of winners. She had a measly amount of performances due to the format and wasn’t even consistent in the short time she had.
Because people don’t like to hear anything remotely negative about their snowflakes, even if they are being respectful.Â
Personally I only use the confuse react when someone crosses the line. It’s a bit childish to confuse react perfectly fine opinions

I mean, I like Gina but I definitely think she’s among the weakest winners. I disagree with her being the #1 worst but I don’t think it’s an outrageous take or anythingÂ

After Celia Babini, Cali Wilson, Rachel Mac, and even Girl Named Tom did an underwhelming job with “The Chain”, I already didn’t want anyone else to even attempt it, but even moreso after seeing this:
Â
Â
It’s a recording from their live album The Dance which I listened to recently. No cover will ever compare.
I don’t even love Chloe’s  I wouldn’t add this song to my personal banlist (because it’s such a fun song) but yeah nothing is gonna come close to the oroginal.Â

Â
I’m a bit of a studio wh*re but with them it’s hard to choose between the studio and the live versions (except Landslide, the live version makes the studio unlistenable)

I actually thought S15 had pretty good teens? At least as far as Chevel, Kennedy and Sarah are concerned. Not quite the level of Pharrell’s trio in S8 but still strong imo.Â
The country guys definitely sucked though.
I should have added “with some exceptions” (not a fan of Sarah but yeah Chevel and Kennedy were good)Â
1 hour ago, Misirlou said:I see where you´re coming from, a lot of "been there, done that" on S15, however, I don´t think we´ve had necesarily worse versions of those contestants that season.Â
Â
I think Kymberli took a fairly different approach from the usual powerhouses (at least for the first half of the season, transforming pop songs), Sarah Grace is one of the most polished and artistically mature teens we´ve had, and let´s been honest, as controversial as Chris Kroeze was (I ´m one of the few that liked him), he was on pitch almost the entire time, that´s more than we can say for the usual country guy on the show, including Kirk on the same season. Â
Can’t really argue with that?? -

Just for the  I’m curious who you think the contestants were worse versions ofÂ
I don’t think of any contestant in particular, it’s more of a “we’ve seen this but done way better”. Like, if I had to do a ranking of every country guy, every teen contestant or every powerhouse, the ones from S15 would be leaning towards the bottom.- 1
-
Chevel winning felt anticlimactic to me at the time but looking back, if anyone was “The Voice” that season, it was her. She was one of the few people that season that were unique or “new” (S15 felt like a collection of worse versions of previous contestants)

She has it all to succeed in the industry imo, and I don’t say this to most contestants.
This aged wellÂÂ
So excited for her future releases, People is an amazing song

Also in what world is she a contender for the win?? Knowing this audience, she’ll be lucky if she gets past the first voting roundÂ
