It doesn’t help that there aren’t any people imo who are so good at what they do that it excuses them being “been there done that”

I would say Grace and Holly to a lesser extent are better than the average country female. Other than that I agree.

I've been pretty down on this season so far. But D Smooth's leak is better than anything that happened tonight on AI.

Honestly the past two rounds from Idol have been pretty terrible, I wouldn’t be surprised if The Voice was better last week (I only watched a few performances)

That said, I still prefer watching Idol? There’s something about this season of TV that has seriously made consider dropping the show entirely. Most people will blame the format (rightfully so), but I think the cast is what killed it for me :ph34rwave: Is it the worst cast ever? Probably not. Is it the blandest and most uninspired cast yet? I’m gonna have to say yes

I believe you are the anti-Hamza Tufail this season lol

More like the anti-IDF, people are treating Ray like he’s the second coming of Nick Hagelin and he would be 3rd in my rankings (and the gap between 3rd and 4th would be huge) :haha:

Mackenzie Bourg was on the farewell season of FOX, when Idol had already been cancelled.  I can see ABC choosing not to mention the competition from another network.  But it doesn't mean that they are OK with it.  We is definitely someone who is well known from The Voice, with viewers and the industry.  She finished in 3rd place.

Idol has always been about protecting their brand.

    Lmao

I love The Voice but no one remembers the winners, let alone someone who came in 3rd :haha: Also I don’t see how an ex Voice alumni winning would endanger Idol’s “brand”

One may find those performances Underwhelming bc they didn't showcase their vocal abilities fully, but they were far and away from being "Pretty Bad" imo.

I personally thought they were *almost pitch perfect in all of their performances (At first I thought those two falsetto notes in their KO + their first few notes in the battle were a bit Pitchy, but upon a rewatch, I think they weren't.)

Well, I personally think they were perfect, but used the word almost bc I think there's a possibility that they may have had pitch issues in some parts that I didn't hear / noticed.

I just don’t think those performances were pleasant to listen to. Her tones are so grating, even if they are hitting the notes most of the time. Doesn’t help that I can’t see them as anything other than a novelty act.

if anyone sees the posts she's talking about or any other posts like that please let me know so I can remove them

I read the thread from the blinds episode she was featured on, and yeah you can argue there was some (subtle) ableism. I wouldn't say these users were disrespectful or meant any harm but they definitely came across as ignorant (to me at least)

    As for Lauren..

When the season initially aired she bored me.

Now I can appreciate her a bit more but I do think too many of her performances blend with one another.

There's always criticisms of male country singers not moving out of their comfort zone vocally or otherwise, and yet I felt the same applies to Lauren's run. (Though she's a notch above vocally with how consistent she is)

And for as much as she sung ballads, she didn't truly move me until her semifinal onward.

No denying she's one of the best female country singers in the show. But her overall run doesn't do much for me. Just on country female finalists alone, I prefer Chevel, Morgan and Meghan.

I like her way more than the contestants you mentioned but I agree with everything you said. Not really her fault though, song choices held her back.
