Kat was a little better this week. I like her voice better when she puts some power behind it, as she did a couple times during this performance. She’s 100% safe.

We can argue that someone else was worse, but it wasn’t a good performance. Her PO performance was bad, and she had no margin for error. She needed to bring it. She didn’t.

I’m not really seeing new Marybeth stans coming out of the woodwork? It seems like the same group of fans she’s had since the beginning. With Cali, I think she lost support on IDF as time went on. I’m not sure about Gracee. The only one of those mentioned above that I’ve ever been somewhat a fan of is Cali, but that was only pre-blinds, based on a couple covers she has posted. She was very underwhelming from the beginning.

I’ve been concerned about MB biting off more than she can chew, but I’m pretty sure she can handle those C5 notes in Stars. She will be way better than LKB. Yes, that song is too iconic to sing on the show, IMO. I doubt it will go over well.

I assume you’re talking about the low notes? He can’t hit those, which is why his cover is in a higher key. It will be up to the audience to decide whether that’s acceptable. My guess is they’ll swallow it whole. Jake is a decent singer, but there’s nothing distinctive about his voice. He’s a really good cover artist, but that’s about all I can say about him. It might be enough to win this season.

Cali had a really bad playoff performance, and needed a save. I’m not saying the dedication to her wife didn’t hurt her chances with voters, but I think there’s a good chance she would have been gone anyway. She’s the Selkii of S17.

Yeah, I did the same digging you did. She’s made multiple trips and been in that studio multiple times, so I’m assuming it’s multiple songs. I hope at least one of them is really good.

If they were upset about Blake dominance, they had plenty of time to rectify that last season, because the dominance started in the cross battles. I didn’t care, because I didn’t think any of the others deserved to be in the finale anyway, besides Maelyn. Nobody was “robbed.” I think that’s how a lot of people viewed it. If everything is equal, Blake wins. If another coach has a better, more popular contestant, he usually doesn’t. It’s always been that way.

That’s a ridiculous take, considering he had 3/4 finalists just a few months ago. When was the last time he had fewer than 2 finalists? I’m too tired to research it, but it’s been a while. The contestants do matter. He has a weak team this season. Last season, it was Maelyn and everyone else. He got his 3 country singers through because everyone else except for Maelyn sucked.

She’s in Nashville recording again. Multiple trips to Nashville in the last few weeks is a good sign.

We’ve all seen how difficult it is for the contestants to get music released after the show, let alone get people to listen to it. I’m talking about the ones who actually have drive. But, I wish her luck. CCM is something she should consider, IMO.
