  1. True lol. But you could tell that the producers didn’t even consider her as a possible winner until the finals began. She got no airtime whatsoever before the voting rounds and none of the judges predicted that she’d be voted into the Top 10. Simon harped on her being forgettable. Unless she was set-up to be a dark horse winner along? As for this season’s winner, I can see it being anyone except Julia (my fav ):) or Louis. Arthur seems like the sure bet right now but I won’t be surprised to see Dillon or Jonny take it. Francisco and Sam are possible but not as likely.
  2. Kelly Clarkson and Kris Allen are the Queen and King of no airtime winners lol. Kelly was never shown before the semifinals and Kris was montaged a couple of times with no backstory. Elise also did very well despite not being shown much at all in Hollywood. All we saw were little glimpses of her until her Green Mile performance. Honestly, she, Jessica, and Hollie all got very far despite their lack of screen time.
  3. I doubt it. I don’t think the tours were making much money in later seasons.
  4. The new ABC Idol slogan: Pray you don’t win.
  5. 1. Julia 2. Francisco 3. Sophia 4. Jonny 5. Just Sam 6. Grace 7. Louis 8. Arthur 9. Makayla 10. Dillon 11. Jovin
  6. The hiatus doomed this season. I think it’ll remain fractional next week, then pick up for the finale because it’s the live coast to coast broadcast.

  8. RESULTS In no particular order, the Top 9 voted through by America are... 1. Francisco Martin! 2. Lauren Spencer-Smith! 3. Jonny West! 4. Sophia James! 5. Just Sam! 6. Arthur Gunn! 7. Julia Gargano! 8. Cyniah Elise! 9. Grace Leer! The judges’ wildcards are... Lionel: Louis Knight Katy: Makayla Phillips Luke: Lauren Mascitti We say goodbye to... Geena Jovin Webb Kimmy Gabriela Shannon Gibbons DeWayne Crocker, Jr. Zach Dobbins DemiRae Hannah Prestridge Dillon James Franklin Boone Amber Fiedler Devon Alexander This was a hard elimination. I really like Shannon and Amber but they both had slip-ups in Hawaii, so I decided to cut them here. In the end, I tried to create a Top 12 with strong and balanced singers. Top 12 Theme: British Invasion (Songs by British artists and groups)
  9. For the semifinals, all of the Top 24 performed the same night for America’s vote. 9 singers will be voted in by the public. The judges will get to save 3 singers, who will complete the Top 12. Geena: “Raise Your Glass” by Pink Jovin: “Seven Nation Army” by White Stripes Grace Leer: “Every Little Thing” by Carly Pearce Kimmy Gabriela: “No Air” by Jordin Sparks and Chris Brown Shannon Gibbons: “Hold On” by Alabama Shakes Francisco Martin: “She Will Be Loved” by Maroon 5 DeWayne Crocker Jr: “I’ll Make Love To You” by Boyz II Men Makayla Phillips: “Bad Idea” by Ariana Grande Lauren Mascitti: “Eighteen Wheels and a Dozen Roses” by Kathy Mattea Zach Dobbins: “Simple Man” by Lynyrd Skynyrd Louis Knight: “Before You Go” by Lewis Capaldi Cyniah Elise: “I Can Only Imagine” Tamela Mann version ___ second hour___ Arthur Gunn: “Remedy” by The Black Crowes DemiRae: “Lose You To Love Me” by Selena Gomez Sophia James: “Shake It Out” by Florence and the Machine Jonny West: “Rescue Me” by OneRepublic Hannah Prestridge: “Homecoming Queen” by Kelsea Ballerini Dillon James: “It Ain’t Me Babe” by Bob Dylan Just Sam: “Don’t Stop Now” by Dua Lipa Franklin Boone: “Africa” by Toto Julia Gargano: “Dancing With a Stranger” by Normani and Sam Smith Amber Fiedler: “Lover” by Taylor Swift Devon Alexander: “I Don’t Care” by Ed Sheeran and Justin Bieber Lauren Spencer-Smith: “I’ll Never Love Again” by Lady Gaga
  10. @Blirel House That Built Me would be a great choice for Grace, actually.
  11. It’s early but I’d like to start my Season 18 Idol redux. If you’re curious, my past winners would’ve been Maddie Poppe and Jeremiah Harmon. In my version, there is a Top 24, not even-gendered. I tried to limit it to people who were actually shown on the show. While I liked people like Bilaal Avaz pre-show, we only saw like five seconds of him singing in Hollywood Week. Also, in my redux, Covid-19 has passed, so the performances will be live with a studio audience. Here are my choices for the Top 24, who will be cut down to a Top 12. Idol Redux Top 24 Girls: Amber Fiedler Cyniah Elise DemiRae Moreno Geena Fontanella Grace Leer Hannah Prestridge Julia Gargano Kimmy Gabriella Lauren Mascitti Lauren Spencer-Smith Makayla Phillips Samanatha “Just Sam” Diaz Shannon Gibbons Sophia Wackerman Guys Arthur Gunn Devon Alexander DeWayne Crocker, Jr. Dillon James Francisco Martin Franklin Boone Jonny West Jovin Webb Louis Knight Zach Dobbins
  12. Thanks guys. I thought that was what was going on but wasn’t totally sure. In that case, I honestly wouldn’t be shocked if Julia had to be saved. I’m banking on either her or Jovin. Maybe Sophia.
  13. I’m still a little confused. Are these the Top 11 that will sing again? Or is one of them just a guess for who the judges will save if they want to? I feel dumb but I just don’t know lol.
  14. Oh wow. I’m very happy with these results but would’ve liked to seen Lauren there. I guess being Canadian was a big hinderance. Jovin was probably the wildcard.
  15. Makayla picked a dud song choice, so that could cost her the spot. Had she chosen a better song, she could’ve sailed through.
  16. Yeah I think this is just a thread for when the spoilers become available. IdolManiac has made them in the past.
  17. Definitely Advancing: Arthur Just Sam Francisco Likely Advancing: Dillon Jonny Louis Lauren Maybe Advancing: Julia Sophia Kimmy Makayla Grace Franklin Jovin Aliana (she’s being praised on Facebook, I can see her being a surprise vote.) No Chance: Cyniah Nick DeWayne Faith Olivia
  18. I’m gonna update my prediction that Kimmy will make the Top 10, shutting out either Makayla or Julia.
  19. What a great night. So hard to choose just ten people. Think: 1. Dillon James 2. Arthur Gunn 3. Just Sam 4. Grace Leer 5. Jonny West 6. Francisco Martin 7. Julia Gargano 8. Lauren Spencer-Smith 9. Sophia James 10. Makayla Phillips
  20. Wow. They really pulled this off. This was great! Man, it’s gonna be tough to see ten people go and there’s sure to be some upsets. Faith and Nick surprised me tonight. They both were solid. Faith has a strong voice and finally chose a song that shows her as an artist. For me, Aliana and Franklin were the weakest.
  21. The talent is so good but I hate how the show is edited now. I want Nigel Lythgoe back so bad. He and Ken Warwick knew how to put on a good show. I think the current producers are great at casting talent but they put way too much focus on stories and the judges babbling than they do the singing.
  22. I agree with your top two. I totally see it coming down to them. I think Arthur will take it because he seems to have a huge fan base, and he only has to make it to through four voting rounds to get there.
  23. That’s pretty true for Idol. In the first semifinal round in their respective seasons, Gil Sinuet, Kristin Holt, Patrick Fortson, Candace Coleman, Jordan Segundo, Marque Lynch, Briana Ramirez, Eric Yoder, Amy Krebs, Joanne Borgella, Ricky Braddy, Matt Giraud (WC), Taylor Vaifanua, Ashley Rodriguez, John Park, Jovany Barreto, Naima Adedapo (WC), Adam Brock, Erika Van Pelt (WC), Breanna Steer, Cortez Shaw, Kristen O’ Connor (WC), CJ Harris (WC), and Michael Simeon all performed 2nd in their group and failed to be voted through. Some only made the finals because they were selected as a judge wildcard pick. Seasons 15-17 didn’t feature public voting during the semifinals, so I didn’t include them.
