From Season 12, Johnny Keyser is by far the most successful since he actually had a hit single. It is a joke to suggest that Colton is more successful than Phillip. Not sorry to say this. Lauren Spencer Smith was also clearly the most successful from Season 18.

The thing is that Triston wasn't all that bad before they started to pigeonhole him into a gyrating novelty performer. He was a decent storyteller, but 'cause he was a threat to their desired winner, Abi, they derailed him and turned him into a joke. I love Abi, but if they were going to do that to Triston, they should've avoided casting him in the first place as what the show did to him amounted to abuse as you say.

I still think Idol did him wrong by turning Triston into a joke contestant. Before they told him to lean into movement, which is his biggest weakness, he was doing fine as a storyteller. But the show pretty much threw the kitchen sink and beyond at him so that his support would evaporate to engineer Abi's victory, not that I mind since I was an Abi fan. However, Triston probably won't have a career unless he gets real career guidance to take him off the path Idol put him on with being a joke novelty act. What Idol did to him was appalling. Triston should never have been cast in the first place if that was what they were going to do to him if he threatened to derail an Abi win. Ruining someone's potential like that is distasteful.

Idol is not guaranteed to stay on air. Even during the AI season 13 to Season 15 era, it had higher ratings than most things on network TV. The problem was that the estimated ratings given to advertisers were much lower than expected, causing all three of those seasons to lose a lot of money. The same thing that happened during the tailend of the Fox era can happen to Idol now. Beating out The Voice in ratings doesn't mean that Idol will outlast The Voice either as it's matter of whether NBC has more realistic expectations of ratings for The Voice than ABC does for American Idol.
-
One of the reasons Idol had shorter seasons with the reboot is that longer seasons have more time to drop off in ratings. Even Season 11, the best season of all time, had this problem. While AI22 being a longer season contributed to Abi winning the season since it allowed others to have more missteps while Abi started becoming a lot more consistent with powerful moments, Idol's very survival is at stake, and it cannot afford another massive dropoff in ratings between seasons.

Wildest's Idol winners rankdown/analysis

And with Nick landing clearly ahead of Lee, I think it's safe to say that Lee will remain at the bottom when you're done with your complete rankdown. His tuneless train wrecks deserve a last-place finish. -
That sounds like it could be a pretty sensual song. It might really take off.

As long as Nick is not below Lee, I will not riot. Out-of-tune Train Wreck Lee needs to stay at the bottom. -
If that's the case, maybe $250 was too low, contrary to what m1key thought.

Well, part of learning the ropes in the music business is to figure how how much to charge for people to see you. If it's too expensive, she can learn to adjust the prices to her shows to meet demand.

Noah took a break soon after his season and even wanted to quit during his season. I wouldn't say he didn't get a fair shake but that he was hard to work with since he didn't have that much drive.
-
Abi has actually been very busy and has already moved to LA. She is choosing to prioritize what makes sense for her, and if that show isn't a priority for her, it doesn't mean that she has next to no drive like Noah from a couple seasons back.
-
It's nice to hear Abi has a lot of drive and has already moved to LA. This is the sort of winner Idol hopes for, not Noah, who has limited motivation to work his ass off for his career.

When Ryan can literally see the votes live these days, and the judges are regularly informed about how the voting is going, there was no assuming that Jeremiah is safe. One of the contestants this season said that it was obvious if someone was in danger 'cause they would be looked at differently. I agree that Jeremiah did do too many ballads, but your narrative that they were assuming Jeremiah would be safe flies in the face of the voting information the people involved have access to these days.

Yeah, we're cool since we're bonding over our dislike of Taylor Swift. The only reason she redid her albums was 'cause of money purposes since she didn't own much of her older catalogue. Whether Taylor Swift does something can usually be predicted by whether it'll earn her money or more time in the limelight. That is why she intentionally dated people knowing their prior reputations so that she could write songs about them and why she makes a million versions of her albums. It's also likely why she chose to date a football player as it was likely an attempt to grow her fanbase and get more news headlines around that. I know Travis Kelce will probably not end up as her husband once she has used up the upside of their relationship. I can say I will never be a fan of hers no matter what happens as her #1 hater.
