  1. When I get home from hanging out I’ll post!
  2. The Tummy Song For me what separates a completely necessary live action remake or a completely unnecessary sequel (like Mary Poppins Returns) from something like the newer 2011 Winnie the Pooh is actually good. If you are going to make a sequel or a remake add something! At the very least MAKE IT GOOD. Anyway, it pains me to do this but the 2011 Winnie the Pooh still has one more song and I'm almost always going to save the more iconic song if given the binary choice. This song is also very similar to another original Winnie the Pooh song still in the game. It doesn't make it less painful but it still acts as a salve for the wound of people making me do this. I LOVE Winnie the Pooh! The character, the books, the movies, the tv show. All of it. When I was a little kid I had some Disney songs on tape. Like a whole tape of classic songs. Then I had a separate cassette of just Winnie the Pooh songs. I listened to both those cassettes on repeat until cassette tapes got replaced by CDs in my household. Winnie the Pooh is like ingrained into my personality. Like as much a fundamental building block as Sailor Moon which I used to wake up at 6AM to watch before I went to school. Lastly, in the video above I just want to take a second to admire the animation! It's so good! Saving: You Can Fly
  3. there's still about 45min until the next cut can be made. lol. but i wanted to get my actual cut in.
  4. Second Star to the Right "Second Star to the Right" is the title music from Peter Pan. I actually quite like it. You should know by now there's something about Disney songs that came out before like 1970 that really just hit perfectly for me! I just love something about like a classic movie song. I feel the same way about musicals. Give me one before 1970 when Hollywood was still trying to maintain that like "clean" essence (and have their losing battle against the counterculture). That being said, I don't feel this is a "classic" song like other songs in Peter Pan or literally ANY song in The Lion King. It's a pretty song, I like it a lot. But unlike some other songs that have been eliminated this early-ish I'm not mad it's going. It's outlasted 200+ other songs and that feels about right for it if you told me that in a vacuum. Saving: I Just Can't Wait to Be King
  5. I will say this. Nothing makes sense in Madame Web. With that being said, I would see it I am thinking 10 times in theaters and I probably would still be laughing at like every moment of it.
  6. I Just Can't Wait to Be King (Lion King) The Tummy Song (Winnie the Pooh) The Second Star to the Right (Peter Pan) You Can Fly! (Peter Pan) lol well since elliott probably won't make his cuts i'll just wait for the 24 hours to almost pass and then i'll just make both sets of cut saves in a row since i'm the only one left.
  7. Chynna Phillips Chynna Phillips, daughter of the Mama & the Papas singer John Phillips (he's a real piece of garbage), is most famous for being a member of the vocal trio Wilson Phillips. Which in addition to her is made of Brian Wilson's two daughters Carnie and Wendy. She was on season 13 of DWTS and was eliminated 4th. I just assume she hasn't been cut by now because people have mostly forgotten about her. I actually really like Chynna Phillips, not as much for her work in Wilson Phillips (though I do like Wilson Phillips) but for how she backs her sister Mackenie Phillips in her allegations of abuse against their father (noted piece of shit) John Phillips. I don't have too much more to say about Chynna because aside from Wilson Phillips she hasn't really done too much. And you know what? That's great. Make your nepo baby group with your two friends. Put out a couple of bops in the 90s. And live off that forever. The dream. Saving: Laurie Jeopardy: Hines

  9. Ichabod Crane (The Adventures of Ichabod and Mr. Toad) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=armKM1-kYY8&ab_channel=MyJakeman1 So it's actually a bit hard to figure out which song this exactly is. The official soundtrack lists three official Bing Crosby songs on it ("Katrina" and "The Headless Horseman" are the other two) but the actual movie has a few more bits and bobs. I do believe that it's officially referring to the song that starts at about 2:52 in this medley, which is essentially the intro medley of the The Legend of Sleepy Hollow portion of The Adventures of Ichabod and Mr. Toad. The link below actually has the opening scene introducing Ichabod. I think I prefer the Mr. Toad/Wind in the Willows portion of this anthology more but The Legend of Sleepy Hollow was maybe the first Disney movie to really scare me. It's scary! Especially when you are a child! But this is pretty standard stuff. Nothing too memorable. It introduces Ichabod in the exact style as you'd expect from a song sung by Bing Crosby in 1949. "Katrina" would have been the better song to include in this than "Ichabod." Saving: Kidnap the Sandy Claws
  10. Cut: Ichabod Crane (The Adventures of Ichabod and Mr. Toad) Save: Kidnap the Sandy Claws (The Nightmare Before Christmas)
  11. Lisa Rinna I am surprised Lisa Rinna made it this long. I am a Housewives fan but even I cannot handle Rinna. I think she just took everything too far. And I was on her side for so long! Yes, Yolanda definitely was doing some Munchausen stuff (no her kids definitely do not have chronic lyme a dubiously real thing) (Yolanda herself probably just had leaky implants making her sick!) (We can talk more about this another time!). I think especially as we kind of got other drama, Lisa Rinna lost how to play her cards. I think kind of being forced off the show as not a bad decision. As a DWTS contestant she was all right. She was paired with Louis Van Amstel and made it all the way to 4th place in season 2. But I think that was about right. Stacey Keibler, Jerry Rice, and Drew Lachey is as solid a top 3 as you can reasonably ask for in this show. I know people will complain that Rinna was probably a better dancer than Jerry Rice but Jerry Rice is also legendary football player and you know I love sports. Saving: Mel B Jeopardy: Jordan Fisher

  13. Evanna Lynch I don't know that it's a huge surprise I'm cutting Evanna since I've nom'd her several times. I obviously have to save my movie pre-show queen Maria Menounos (whom I know NOTHING else about) and Willow can go to jeopardy that's fine. But Evanna has been a "target" of mine for forever because she's so indebted to the single most vocal TERF JK Rowling that she keeps going "maybe it's not so bad that JK Rowling keeps spewing, promoting, and funding this hateful and violent rhetoric. In fact have you thought that maybe we should be listening to the very very very small number detransitioners over the very large number of trans people who are so much happier and continue to identify as trans." And then compared cancel culture to the Troubles in Ireland. MY FREAKING GOD. Anyway, it's a bummer that she's maybe Keo's best partner. But at least we have cool guy Daniel Radcliffe to come out of the series. Saving: Maria Menounos Jeopardy: Willow Shields

  16. oh wow i did not realize this. i will make noms soon
  17. Knowing What I Know Now I desperately want to like Wish. I am a KNOWN Ariana DeBose stan. I like Chris Pine. But the movie just really has no direction or innovation. I like most of the people behind this movie with the writers and director of Frozen II and co-director Fawn Veerasunthorn who has worked on many other Disney movies. But it all just feels like very paint by the numbers. I don't really know what went wrong. If anything went wrong. Maybe the churn of Disney having to crank out these movies needs a break. I don't know, But nothing about this movie screams must watch from the music to the actual movie. Disney needs to take a break and reset. And when you have an original Disney movie that can't generate a catchy song despite having great talent behind it all, it's an issue. I'm not worried about Disney as a whole but I am worried about Disney in the now and maybe they need a hard reset after a failure or several. Saving: CANDLE IN THE WATER
  18. And here I thought Wally was an Eddie Murphy fan. SMH.

  21. i can't believe that none of you told me that ethan coen's wife is a lesbian and they are co-writing a trilogy of lesbian films. (the first one is out now Drive-Away Dolls and I will be seeing this weekend)
  22. The Goddess of Spring We've cut a few songs from the Disney Silly Symphony series but I don't think I've cut one yet so I get to talk about them a little bit here. I threw in the first one of these in the rankdown with the very famous "Who's Afraid of the Big Bad Wolf" which I think even if you don't know it off the top of your head you immediately recognize as it's by far the most famous of these Disney shorts (you probably recognize a lot of others even if you don't know it like "The Skeleton Dance"). I think the biggest thing that comes from these is the advancements Disney made with animation and technology. The short "Goddess of Spring" is notable for how much the advancements in animation in this lends to the feature film Snow White. Because this is the first Disney feature that has human characters. And while the animation at Disney would make leaps and bounds before finally releasing Snow White, this was an important proof of concept (i.e. it can be done and done "realistically" and well). The short itself is a 9+-minute retelling of the Hades and Persephone story though Hades here is closer to a traditional Satan than the Greek god. It's operatic and melodramatic and a fun watch if you've got the time and desire. But it's no huge loss at this point. Saving: Poor Jack
