Dan Smyers and Shay Mooney make up the country music duo Dan + Shay. They released their first studio album in 2014 under Warner Records Nashville and as of 2020, have three full-length albums, with five of their singles reaching #1 on the Country Airplay chart and two singles topping the Hot Country Songs chart. Their debut album, Where It All Began, is certified gold, while their third and self-titled album, has gone Platinum. Dan + Shay have been nominated for many music awards, including wins for Duo Video of the Year at the 2018 CMT Music Awards, Best Country Duo Group Performance at the 2019 Grammys, and Single of the Year and Song of the Year at the 2019 Academy of County Music Awards - all for their hit single "Tequila." They have also won many awards for their work as a duo and for their song "Speechless."
