The problem with those seasons was mainly the length. Those seasons didn’t have a long live show format for these debates to really occur. Also because the previous format didn’t allow underdogs to shine like they do here

I can see this happening, but I would have been mad at Ariana results because of their playoffs, though those artists weren’t very popular.

All that would really change at this point is that Holly wouldn’t be pushed as Ariana’s finalist, since she would have Girl Named Tom (who could potentially get Ariana her first win). Blake would probably have a greater chance of getting shut out of the Top 2. I still think Paris would make finale, though his placement might be more limited, and the fifth finalist could be more open

but i understand your point, the biggest challenge in Team Blake is Lana's song (due the arrengement and capacity of get votes)

I think that the perfect song for Wendy to sing this round could have been an emotional country ballad. The main thing I wanted from Wendy was to sing an emotional ballad in Lives, and we haven’t gotten that. Plus, she sang a Dolly song already in Lives. Blake is known for not challenging his artists though
