True, but the songs that would have fit her the best, like the one we were discussing above, don’t have “big notes.” I would have done it anyway, and let the chips fall where they may. Bryce got away with it.
She said she almost did “Something In The Orange.” After hearing her cover it, I wish she would have. “When You Say Nothing At All” is another one. No big notes, but who cares?
I think this is where the short season discouraging risk taking, and having big cuts every week in the lives comes into play. I think you're right, but audience loves big notes...especially from females. She kills those softer songs though

I think Gwen's vocal on this Love is Alive is really good. It's a different flavor/texture from the original though bc she's not doing it country/with a country twang
And yeah, Blake is a massive Judd's fan. He's done some previous Wynonna covers

It's sad that Grace was on such a short season. We got so few songs from her, and it probably also discouraged risk taking

I mean he has shows scheduled for beginning of September and he might've had one earlier this week (I don't recall if it was him or if I'm confusing him with someone else though) so that's partially why we have him listed as likely out.
He literally has shows on his website the entire week of KO. Sorry y’all.
(unless his website is lying)

I'm looking forward to the time when a confirmed contestant from Season 24 is revealed as a contestant from Season 25.
I think I would take which season they’re confirmed on with large heaping grains of salt
If they aren’t currently in LA though, they’re not on season 24

The lyrics in that song are so cringey, it makes try that in a small town seem good. And that’s also the reason it’s selling like hot cakes

Speaking of Miranda, do you think more people will cover her songs on the show after Blake's departure?
How many Miranda songs have you heard on AI lately? Yeah exactly. For everyone who is so keen on Miranda songs getting performed I would encourage you to listen to some Carly Pearce, Ashley mcbryde, and Lainey Wilson to find some contemporary country female covers you might like them to sing
(also over you is also a Blake song,
and he has performed it post divorce, I don’t think that’s why it hasn’t been performed. It was (I think) performed only 1x in voice history and retired)

The hug he shared with Blake at the end was super cute

Emily Rhyne got to play in front of several hundred people in a full house at the Doghouse - Ole Red, before Blake (who was "opening" for Kingston).

Blake and Gwen singing a duet, and Wendy moten (with O.N.E. The duo) will be featured on the Judd memorial album

Seriously y'all, if you live in the greater LA area, or just want to take a trip to the greater LA area....please put in for tickets to attend a voice taping

Re: the audio clips
All individually good singers, but absolutely nothing we haven’t heard on the show, over and over.
All 4 high-concept tropes.
Celine dion or Kelly could come and audition and you’d say it wasn’t anything we haven’t had on the show before
(And you’d be right)

Apparently Gwen was the pickiest in another taping in the week. This makes me think she turned the least of everyone this season, which would be what everyone wouldn’t expect lol
Oh? If that’s true she’s probably going to end up with a lot of 1 chair turns. Can’t really see her winning all the 4 chair turns

Looks like coaches were filming promo today
Filming something anyways. The only coach we know for sure was there is Gwen. Darcy could've been there for John or the contestants. I would assume it was coach promo though

Let’s try this - putting it in multiple spots
1. Many of the voice staff are sag-aftra members (not just John and Reba)
2. sag-aftra has a number of different contracts their members work under, depending on what they are filming
3. The current contract that has expired is for film/scripted tv (for example if their is acting), and that is what is being impacted by the strike
4. reality tv like the voice, and also news programmed, are under DIFFERENT CONTRACTS, and are not currently impacted by the strike

Here before we:
- Get the next Kenzie Wheeler/Bryce Leatherwood, and based on SM material before the show we say "Hmm, he's actually pretty good. He'll go far but I wouldn't really mind, he could be the best country male we've had in a while"
- And then, he proceeds to disappoint us in the live shows.
To late, we already have the "something in the orange singer"

It wouldn't surprise me if due to the various strikes we end up getting more of a spring season then was originally planned
-
As of right now all taping dates for the voice are still up. Given how much they scheduled this summer, and the fact that they were fine with having blinds in July, my suspicion has always been that the SAG strike wouldn't impact the voice filming.
As an aside Gwen is also almost certainly a SAG member along with Reba and John and Carson, as she has been nominated for a SAG award. But this contract might only be for movies and scripted TV work.

A) something in the orange is a really good song, and I’m glad someone covered it
B ) as written it’s not a vocally demanding song

The flooding will be a major issue, but KO aren’t being filmed until September. Even battles are next weekend. So unless something catastrophic and unexpected happens it shouldn’t be impacted
