  1. Brooke Stephenson was the most robbed artist this season tbh.

I took a listen to her audition again (I'd only listened to it once when it aired and never cared for it again).

Turns out her voice is really lovely. It's on her for choosing Kelly instead of Blake though. I'm not sure if she could've gone too far with Blake just because his team became relatively competitive towards KO's.

I think she may have even had a shot to last another few rounds on Team Gwen. She self-identified as Americana, not country - so there could've been some interesting work there. She could've been paired with Kyndal, Brennen, or Kiara and it would've been a much more fair battle. If she'd lost at least it would've been a fair fight, unlike Damali.

  2. I'll be honest - I didn't watch the finale because I was busy, so I'm not including any of those.

    1. Katie Kadan - I'm Goin' Down

    2. Rose Short - I Want to Know What Love Is

    3. Ricky Duran - Let it Be

    4. Rose Short - God's Country

    5. Will Breman - My Body

    6. Katie Kadan - Always Remember Us This Way

    7. Will Breman - Say You'll Be There

    8. Mendeleyev - Girl from the North Country

    9. Ricky Duran - River

    10. Joana Martinez - California Dreamin'

    HM:

Playoffs - Rose Short (easy #11 - issa bop), Myracle Holloway

KO's - Rose Short, Jake HaldenVang, Will Breman, Ricky Duran

Blinds: Katie Kadan, Joana Martinez, Matt New, Cali Wilson

  3. Petition for an Anouk fanthread? :flowers:

Also, if there's anyone gifted enough to caption this whole video about why she's so fantastic, I'd appreciate it. :haha:

The only English I recall in the video is 7:39 "It's just not gonna happen"/"It ain't gonna work" followed by "oh my f***ing god" at 7:55

  4. Will did a quick IG live yesterday. He's keeping mum about the details of his appearance on the finale results night, which hopefully means were in for a surprise.

Someone on the live mentioned that Will has already booked 40+ shows all around America up until March, which is CRAZY. Glad he's capitalizing on whatever exposure he got this season.

Music-wise, Will is planning on recording an EP of his songs from his time with a bluegrass band, two concept albums, and a duet with Lauren. He should also consider recording with Scary Pockets or Postmodern Jukebox.

And amidst all of this, He is also planning on returning to grad school, pursuing a degree in voice performance.

Looks like it's gonna be a very busy year ahead for Will. Good luck and godspeed! :sorcerer:

I was watching part of it but had to leave after a couple minutes.

Glad to hear he's got a ton of stuff planned out!

  5. I’ve heard there’s a general list of names for S18 so far, how much info do we have? (@Someone lol)

There's a list of names but I'm so behind on it. I think by this time last year I'd posted the names for S16, but that's definitely not happening this year. New job's taken up a lot of my free time and there's been some fantastic people who've helped gather the names (who I'd love to shout out but won't b/c anonymity and whatnot) but I'll definitely try to complete that list by New Years' and get it up.

The bumming news is that I got no spoilers from auditions this season so we're gonna have to wait until battles for anything concrete. :/

  6. I have a genuine question for people who think Kat got robbed/unfairly treated/etc:

During what round did it appear that Kat performed in a manner that warranted her being treated "better" than Ricky. I agree, Blake demonstrated much more enthusiasm when talking about Kat than with Ricky (although I don't think he at all downplayed his love for Ricky), so that definitely bolstered her votes. Each week though, Ricky performed better than Kat and thus, the producers gave him better slots than many other contestants. I think besides the Shania song as a potential bus (just because it was so risky), Kat's failure to get into the finale is a combination of her competing on a tough season, and simply never really giving a performance that stood out or warranted her being given one of the slots in the second hour by the producers.

She never hit the bottom once, so I don't think any song choice or performance slot at all counted as throwing her under the bus. The producers simply saw no reason to give her a more memorable placement because she didn't stand out or earn the better placement. At least that's what I see from her situation.

I know this comes from someone who's stated that they're not a Kat fan, so I'll say this: I don't think a single one of Kat's performances was awful or anything. My position on Kat is that she never did anything to elevate her performances or do anything special. She gave solid, boring 7's throughout her run, while Ricky consistently gave solid 8's and 9's that showed skill, range, and were simply more interesting.

  7. Have you ever noticed that some people will try to convince everyone that their snowflake has a great song, when it’s obvious to everyone else that the song choice sucks?

It happens the other way too. Rival snowflake gets a good song, right in their wheelhouse, and half of IDF trips over themselves trying to shoot it down. They do it again after rival snowflake performs the song well on the show, often inventing things to critique, while ignoring the flaws in their own snowflake’s performance.

I wonder what those gifs would look like? :haha:

Jake Hoot or other designated yeehaw gets another song I've never heard of for the second or third week in a row:

  8. No, everyone announced so far is there for their own promotion. The press release spells out what they are singing. The celebrity duet partners haven’t been announced yet.

Oh, that's my mistake! Thanks for the heads up.

Still holding out hope for a JHud duet in addition to Memory o:)

  9. Maelyn

Although curious to how the duets will work.

Rose deserves JHud but they'll probably stick her with Black Eyed Peas.

Luke x Jake is the clearest pick there, but Lady Antebellum x Katie doesn't seem appropriate, neither does Rose or Ricky there.

Maybe they're waiting on an additional announcement for them or something?

  10. I've watched since season 1 but didn't start thoroughly watching/stanning until S3, started looking through IDF in S7, and didn't join until S9.

Bolded are people in my all-time faves.

(And in general, these names are just the people I looked forward to the most each week they were on/were very disappointed when they left.)

S1: Casey Weston, Vicci Martinez (didn't really stan either, but they were my clear favorites)

    S2: Jamar Rogers, Charlotte Sometimes

    S3: Amanda Brown, Cassadee Pope

S4: Sarah Simmons, Sasha Allen, Michelle Chamuel, Caroline Glaser

S5: Kat Robichaud, Jonny Gray, Matthew Schuler, Preston Pohl

    S6: Clarissa Serna, Kat Perkins

    S7: Troy Ritchie, Taylor Phelan

S8: Kimberly Nichole, Mia Z, Hannah Kirby, Meghan Linsey

S9: Amy Vachal, Ellie Lawrence, Madi Davis

    S10: Laith Al-Saadi, Hannah Huston

S11: Dana Harper (but really bad season overall)

S12: Hunter Plake, Vanessa Ferguson, Lauren Duski, Lilli Passero, Stephanie Rice

S13: Noah Mac, Karli Webster, Chloe Kohanski, Janice Freeman, Addison Agen, Moriah Formica

S14: WILKES, Kyla Jade, Johnny Bliss, Reid Umstattd, Kelsea Johnson

S15: Makenzie Thomas, SandyRedd, Kennedy Holmes

S16: Maelyn Jarmon, Domenic Haynes, Kendra Checketts

S17: Will Breman, Ricky Duran, Katie Kadan, Rose Short, Myracle Holloway (any of these can earn the bolded status easily, really. Best season overall in the past few years.)

  11. It’s an open secret that a relatively large percentage of Voice contestants have NO interest in winning. Noah hit his limit by the semi-final. He’s spoken about it publicly. He was ready to leave.

They kept trying to get him to sing boy band songs and he wanted no part of it.

I'm aware, but if he'd gotten through instead of Red (which he was totally capable of doing), it would've been the absolute perfect finale.

  12. I mean if they pimped Ali and Hunter more they could have had it in season 11 and 12 as well.

Pimping Ali - Wtf with the performance slot? have her perform in the second hour, and in the instant save, GIVE HER THE LAST PERFORMING SLOT.

Result - Ali gets PV, We gets IS, or Ali gets IS.

Pimping Hunter - Switch Aliyah's and Hunter's performance slot, if he is still in the instant save, then oh well.

Result - Hunter gets PV, Jesse still gets IS.

If Aliyah still got the PV in season 12 then oh well, but Hunter was close to that PV so pimping him could have sent him through.

Noah in S13 too if he’d sent out a tweet. He would’ve been in over Red easily but he never sent out a tweet.
