Mortal Kombat III/Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3/Mortal Kombat Trilogy I had every hope that Rei was gonna revive this before I had to do the write-up Hopefully he still does so I don't have to care how bad this one is gonna be (I'm tired and wanna go to sleep ok?). I know I played this at some point, but tbh I don't remember any specifics (time for Dee to yell at me). I would guess that like most MK games is a pretty enjoyable experience, but while I like fighting games, they don't tend to be at the top of my head when I think about my faves. As far as wikipedia tells me, this one added Animalities and a dash feature. Beyond that, the original release omitted some popular characters from previous games, but the updates (Ultimate and Trilogy) added more to the roster. Hopefully I hit 100 bc I'm ready to pass out. Sorry to its fans. Bug Rei to revive it or something.

Sandile I was surprised that this little guy escaped noms last round (hide and seek legend btw), but I knew it wasn't gonna make it that much farther after that. I really like this entire line in terms of design, I feel like all the stages shine in their on way. Onto Sandile, it's pretty cute, and it easy to use when you get it. It's a pretty standard fast physical attacker. One of the main things about this line is typing, given that it's weak to 6 types, but also resists 4 and it's immune to 2. While it's even, that's still a lot of moving parts, so it can make using it effectively challenging if you don't pay attention. It also has a good reliable ability in Intimidate, to undermine your opponents. Overall, it's a pretty nice pokemon, but this is a good spot for it (plus we still have Krookodile, so...) Skarmory it's one of most annoying walls in the game, even so many generations after its introduction. It's fun af to use tho

Psyduck With so many water type pokemon in Gen 1, you need to be truly special to stand out. And sadly the Psyduck line doesn’t do that for me. Don’t get me wrong, it’s not the worst (Goldeen and Seaking, smile and wave), but you have strong competition for that spot on your team, and it just doesn’t deliver. None of its stats shines, it’s a “jack of all trades, master of none” type of pokemon, except it doesn’t have the BST to make it work (like Type: Null or Sylvally). Maybe if they give it a regional variation the can make something cool and more usable with it (Psyduck is like 2 steps away from being a platypus, use that for an Australian-inspired region? Idk). Anyway, good run. Save: Umbreon

Gengar I made it no secret that I didn’t care for trade evolutions, so yeah not a fan of Gengar. It’s probably the one I like the most from Gen 1 if that helps. Anyway, time to write filler since it’s 2 write ups for this round and I need some sleep. It’s the final evolution of the Gastly line, and a dual Ghost/Poison type. You can pretty much get it whenever you want, you just need a Haunter and someone to trade with you. It has pretty good stats, especially in Speed and Special Attack, making it a good pick for a glass cannon. The Mega just further enhances that, making it really dangerous in battle.
