  1. Say a prayer for Triston… Again….a 15 year old should not be singing these lyrics. I’m ready for him to go.
  2. I’ll take a wild guess, with at least a 90% chance of being wrong. For Will’s dance song, he will sing, “Why Don’t We Just Dance” by Josh Turner.
  3. —- Speaking of Spotify, he’s up to 117K monthly listeners. Gone For Good is at 861K. It’s averaging just under 14K per day, so it should easily surpass 1 million in the next couple of weeks.
  4. Maybe Will will sing this? ”Why Don’t We Just Dance”
  5. This may not matter much, but since Facebook is widely considered the most important social media indicator, I thought I’d post it just for the hell of it. They tag the contestants on all of the performances, so it’s not as though it’s difficult to find their pages, and follow them. I do not know what their follower numbers were prior to appearing on the show, other than Will, who had 3.9K before his audition. Facebook followers: Will 47K Emmy 42K Triston 31K McKenna 24K Abi 18K Julia 12K Jack 6.9K
  6. I still think Jack is roughly in the 4th - 5th position. He’s the “flavor of the week.” Last week, it was Kayko.
  7. I don’t have a problem with Jack being the sacrificial winner. I do find it hilarious that some who act as though it’s life or death to have a female winner to now claim to be fine with Jack winning.
  8. Check this out. Everything is exactly the same. I guarantee he’s spent many, many hours studying MJ film. But, beyond that, I think he’s studied MJ’s mindset.
  9. The scary thing is he’s only 22! The sky is the limit. We’ve heard all of this “next MJ/Kobe” talk, which I’m always a little skeptical of, but even I’m starting to believe it after these last 5 playoff games.
  10. Travis Tritt reposted Will’s performance of Modern Day Bonnie and Clyde, with the caption, “Love this!! Good luck Will Moseley on American Idol!” https://m.facebook.com/100044327051695/posts/967762694711290/?mibextid=WC7FNe&rdid=6a1aNZ3Mw7cciwpS&share_url=https%3A%2F%2Fm.facebook.com%2Fshare%2FkPp1wMc2d8ZrjLaw%2F%3Fmibextid%3DWC7FNe%26wtsid%3Drdr_0VZrsJCDsy12yj5Ro&wtsid=rdr_0VZrsJCDsy12yj5Ro&refsrc=deprecated&_rdr
  11. Game 1 goes to the T-Wolves. Ant 1 Joker 0
  12. I don’t really care, tbh. I just enjoy stirring the pot. This is low hanging fruit.
  13. Yeah, I know they show Triston’s mom a lot, and he’s been overpimped. Fact of the matter is he and Emmy are at least a step below everyone else vocally at this stage. Time for both of them to go, IMO.
  14. One other subtle thing I noticed during Emmy’s performance…they kept showing her mom in the audience, who was emotional, and looks a lot like Loretta. Powerful stuff.
  15. We just have to remind ourselves that it’s a TV show, and having Loretta’s granddaughter singing CMD in the pimp spot was actually a brilliant move on their part. I suspect she would have been in danger of going home otherwise, and she’s more valuable to to keep around than KB.
  16. Emmy has also been treated with kid gloves. I would imagine the judges are reluctant to be too critical, given who her grandmother is. We all saw how wide eyed they were when they found out, especially Luke. Some of the criticism I see on Facebook is over the top, but there is no question she is willingly using her grandmothers fame for votes, otherwise, she wouldn’t have chosen that song. Having said all of that, it’s not that serious, and it doesn’t matter to me whether she makes the finale, or goes home this week. She has advantages others don’t have, so her placement on this show is most likely inconsequential.
  17. Positive Facebook mentions from the top 7 post from yesterday Will 39 Abi 34 Jack 31 Julia 26 Triston 22 Mckenna 10 Emmy 9
  18. Because I’m a Minnesota fan. Minnesota and Iowa are rivals. Also…Edwards and Jokic kick off a 7 game series tomorrow night.
  19. Yes. However, I’m seeing less of it than before. Triston seems to be losing ground, but I’m going to need to see more than one week of it to be all in on that narrative.
  20. What happens if they put McKenna or Julia in the pimp spot? Shock boot? I believe Will and Jack are the only two who haven’t closed during the voting rounds.
  21. The fact of the matter is, there is now a lot more money to be made in women’s college and pro basketball, and it’s because of her. I also would never watch a women’s basketball game, but I watched a few of hers in the tournament. I’m not at all a fan of Iowa either. I generally hate them.
  22. The coach format is also a built-in limiting factor for Voice contestants, because too many people won’t support a contestant if they’re with a coach they don’t like, or aren’t with their favorite coach. This probably also contributes to hindering their post-show success.
  23. He did a pretty good job of summarizing why AI is the superior show, but he left out the fact that Voice contestants almost never have post-show success. The very few recent success stories came from those who didn’t make it very far, which likely means TV had very little to do with it. To be fair, it’s more difficult for AI contestants to break through than it used to be, but at least there’s a feeling that they have a fighting chance.
