review time! Clara & Aljaz: first of all, fire whoever picked out her shoes as far as the dancing goes i actually feel like that first minute of this dance was 8-9 quality because the mistakes were minute and she had the energy for the dance. obviously the ending was a disaster and it was hard to watch but somehow i still think it was better than last week by a small margin? i think the first half saved it for me personally. 20. Jamie & Karen: this one was just kind of there. there's nothing obviously wrong with it but it doesn't pack a punch or have anything that stood out to me. his frame was good, his footwork was fine even though he fumbled a few times (small mistakes though), and karen looked great! i will say he nailed the character of the dance too. 23. HRVY & Janette: interesting choice to fuse street and contemporary dance but i think it worked really well for them! easily my favorite couple's choice of the season and up there with clara's charleston as one of my favorite dances this season. i don't have anything to critique besides a very small sync issue on one of the jumps around 3/4 into the dance but otherwise great! 29. Ranvir & Giovanni: this performance was adorable! i think she has one of the best frames out of the female celebs this season and that's perfect for american smooth. i felt that she needed a touch more fluidity as there were slight jagged parts and some of the transitions didn't feel smooth enough. i still enjoyed it though! 25. Bill & Oti: ugh i'm so torn on this one. i think it started amazing and was set up to be one of his better performances but it got messy in the middle and he just seemed winded for the entire second half of the performance. his kicks and footwork are improving but they got sloppier as the dance went on and i just feel like it wasn't the best for him, unfortunately. 22. JJ & Amy: a very pretty performance and finally one of his that i enjoyed! he finally performed instead of just doing the steps which i appreciate. his footwork has improved gradually too but his transitions between moves are still not smooth enough for ballroom dances which is unfortunate considering he's done 4 of them but oh well! 24. Maisie & Gorka: WOW let's talk about dance of the season because this was amazing! i never thought i could be so entertained by a quickstep but gorka's choreo combined with maisie being flawless proved me wrong! everything about this dance was equally fun and technically flawless. i'm so bitter that craig gave this & the other flawless dance this season (clara's charleston) a 9. 30. my ranking 1.
