  1. Don't count your chickens before they hatched. It's not about how you start, it's about how you finish. That said, I think that Colin is better than last year's winner, Noah.
  2. I actually think that 4 weeks is enough. 3 is too short, 5 is a tad too long but 4 is just right. You can show more duets if the auditions are 4 weeks and not 5.
  3. I see that Colin, Haven, Lucy, Megan, Michael, Tyson, William Guy and Zachariah all made the Top 26. I'll be especially looking at them for that reason.
  4. There's definitely potential there, but I think she did a little better towards the end than towards the beginning. She'll probably improve enough in Hollywood to make the Top 26 but I don't know how well she'll do compared to the others in her group.
  5. It's also possible that the people who watched the singers in Hawaii after the Top 26 were revealed were the ones who voted in the Top 26 round like what was done in the most recent season of So You Think You Can Dance. However, I suspect that it's only going to be the case with the Top 26 round. The viewers will probably be the ones voting in the Top 20 round.
  6. I liked Gabby's performances more than those of Caleb Lee (the other country singer in the competition), although that was partly because his performances all felt the same to me while Gabby had more versatility. But the person I was most thinking of was Carrie Underwood.
  7. That too. I don't mind having a country singer do well if the singer is very good or great. I just mind it if they're mediocre white guys with guitars as well, or mediocre white guys without guitars or other instruments.
  8. Yeah, they might well do so. And I wouldn't mind -- I've seen too many mediocre singers outlast their welcome just because they were cute nonthreatening wgwgs. Of course, Elliott would mind it.
  9. I'll also check out Megan and Olivia when they appear on the show. Tyson might be my favorite of the guys, as I do like piano players but I'm not sure if I'll vote for him. That's mainly because when it comes to voting, I have certain types of singers, and when it comes to gender, "female" is at the top of my list of what type of singers I'll vote for. The only guy I ever voted for from the start was Clay Aiken, back in Season 2.
  10. Maybe Olivia snapped up "Emotions" before Elise could get it, so Elise went with "Holding Out For a Hero" instead. Glad to hear that Wé sounded incredible. I'd like to know how Marybeth sounded as well.

  12. Agreed. I hope that Wé and Marybeth manage to stand out from the other Voice alumni enough to move on.
  13. Thanks. If Wé does do "Edge of Seventeen" and she puts her own spin on an overdone song, I'll be thrilled!
  14. How is "Edge of Seventeen" for Wé's voice? Is it perfect for her as well? Just wanted to add that I listened to "Heart Like a Truck" and that seems like a very good song choice for a country singer like Marybeth.
  15. I might check Lucy out. Maybe I'll fall for her voice as well.
  16. Glad to see that Marybeth is also in the Top 24 (or 26, as the case my be).
  17. So it looks like two of my pre-Idol picks made it into the Top 26 (Marybeth and Wé). Marybeth might have a good chance of beating a country guy, since she's country, but I also would like to see Wé get far and hopefully win. One of those two and I'd be a happy camper.
  18. I too hope that Marybeth made it. That would be two out of three of the singers I was most interested in before watching the episodes making it to the Top 24.
  19. Glad to hear it! It's a real shame that Kya isn't traveling, although the surgery probably explains why. What about Marybeth? She's the only country singer I might really root for.
