We have the Dryes and Morgan Taylor confirmed on Monday based on last night's promo. I think others we're shown too but I didnt catch them.
Thereโs one girl in the middle that I canโt identify. Not Sasha, not Lanaโฆ

This is literally the only version of Hey Ya that I've ever liked. I don't know what Kique will do with it so that he wins his KO

Troy Ritchie's version on Season 7 is fantastic, Christiana Danielle's version is pretty ok and very very distinct from the original.
ย
Regarding Kique, I had the conversation about how he did it and we compared it Troy's. I don't recall off the top of my head all the details but it was a very good flip, it built up so I assume it started somewhat slower, but they said it was different than Troy. The coaches seemed to like it the best of his taping and multiple sources agreed, so we might be going into something really special and unique. Gotta wait a month or two to see it though

Camila > Blake > Gwen > John
ย
This is like 99.9999% gonna switch up with week two though. They picked a really weird way to balance out all the contestants for week one.

Omar > Peyton > Emma > David
Ian > Alyssa > Jay > Sadie
Reina > Chello > Devix > Morgan > Orlando
Kevin > Bryce > Kate > Brayden

At the end of that taping, Camila only had one spot left, so yes she was probably being cautious.

Also, I think the reason why Reina isn't receiving much hype is because she very much sounds like a little girl. A very talented teenage girl, but I don't think she sounds mature for her age the same way Hailey, Kennedy, or Brynn do.
imo her and Kennedy sound more mature vocally than Brynn and Hailey.

i know right? Devix and Chello seem pretty polarizing but I really enjoyed bothย
Devix and Chello are right up my alley, especially Chello. They gave great performances even though they were a bit laid back.

Tonight was so damn good. A for me.
ย
1. Kevin Hawkins (9/10) - What a voice! From the beginning to end, really solid. The song's a lot harder than it appears to be and I feel like he nailed it.
2. Reina Ley (9/10) - I don't think she's getting enough hype. The control she has for age is insaaaane. That comes with singing mariachi and she's very strong, especially for her age.
3. Chello (8.5/10) - Love the tone, love the vibe, everything about this was great and he has potential to be even better. When he said he was a Jon Bellion guy, it all fell into place. Like I 100% get it and am rooting for him.
4. Devix (8.5/10) - Just like Chello above, he mentioned the bands he listens to and I'm 100% into him. The song choice is a bit of a weird one for the show, but he did an excellent job with it and I can only imagine how much better he performs in the coming rounds. Can't wait!
5. Bryce Leatherwood (8.5/10) - What can I say, I liked this one. Dude is GOOD and I'm terrified for my faves officially.
6. Alyssa Witrado (8/10) - Really liked this one. It's been said a lot today but it's obvious she got a bit shaky in the middle, but she recovered super well and the beginning was phenomenal. I think this is one that will definitely grow. She picked a hard song for sure.
7. Peyton Aldridge (8/10)ย - I like it! Most country guys don't do anything for me but the two from tonight caught my attention.
8. Brayden Lape (8/10) - He can't possibly do it all, can he? Teen guys are the hardest ones for me to get interested in, but he was very pleasant to listen to. Just waiting on a stronger song choice to fully make a decision on how I feel.
9. Sadie Bass (7.5/10) - I enjoyed her but it was a relatively sleepier version compared to the other versions of this song. Waiting for hte bigger moments.

Reina? Fantastic
Bryce? Fantastic
Alyssa? Fantastic
Devix? Fantastic
Chello? Fantastic
Kevin? FANTASTIC.

EVERY SINGLE PERSON IS SO GOOD TONIGHT.
Even Koko wasn't bad, probably just a tad too big for her and bad timing.
ย
Still watching live for the West Coast but sheeeesh. Tonight was STACKED.

Had a feeling. Good continuation of the Blake not getting country artists thing, plus a block.

No, but this isn't AGT or Idol. On The Voice no one sounds like cat getting run over a truck. At worst they're not developed enough, pick the wrong song, don't stay perfectly on pitch or whatever, or they're underwhelming - but they made it to blinds for a reason.

Loved her! Can't wait to see how she does in battles and further on.

They went on the show to be judged. Thatโs the point.ยAgreed. I'm sure 99% of the contestants are at least somewhat aware of that so that's no big problem.
ย
I think it's just important to distinguish that the contestants should expect judgment in the form of criticism and feedback (positive and negative), but not attacks, harassment, blatant disrespect, popping up and spamming DM's or comment sections, threats, etc. etc. etc. If you're mature enough to use your keyboard, you're mature enough to know what it is to respect a contestant and their boundaries. Like I get that most of us probably can't carry a tune, that's fine, we're still in a position where as the consumer/viewer, we can say what we feel. Most of us on IDF don't have that issue (at least most of the time), but sometimes some comments go way too far and just suck.ย
ย
Again contestants, your only safe spot is your fan thread. But we love y'all, we doย

Yes but Minivan hates anything Gwen-related so I wouldnโt look too much into it.

Howโs the reception for Camila?
-
Loved Alyssa! The beginning was strong and I think she ended strong, though she definitely got a bit messy/muddled in the middle there but recovered well. Not sure whether to count it as nerves or overall enunciation issues/lack of experience, but it's something that can definitely be worked on.
ย
I'm hearing a fantastic voice for alt/pop/pop rock, which makes the battles song choice make sense. Song choice aside, Gwen's easily the right coach for her. I'm sold.

I enjoy this thread but I've always wondered if it would be necessary/beneficial to clarify/define what each number represents. I see these smaller numbers like 3 and 4 here which I get, but like in my mind, a 3 or 4 represents somebody that didn't even deserve to turn a chair. I feel the contestants I don't like but did turn a chair are usually a 6 at worst (unless it's like Caribbean Queen level of bad). So I know my 6 might be a lot different than somebody else's 6

A solid premiere overall. Looking forward to seeing how strong this season gets!
1. Omar Cardona (9/10) - Very strong vocalist - just the type of singer I love! Not every big note was perfectly nailed, but he has great stage presence.
2. Ian Harrison (8.5/10).- TOP TIER SONG CHOICE. Great version, looking forward to whatโs next.
3. Kate Kalvach (8/10) - I loved the version of the song. Iโm betting she has more tricks up her sleeveโฆ
4. Morgan Myles (7.5/10) - A good version of the song. Great tone, but she definitely held back. I hope she plans on showing off later on, but I feel she couldโve added a little more. I guess my only actual critique is that the flip didnโt 100% land for me. It was fine though, she can just do better.
5. Emma Brooke (7.5/10) - A solid version. I do like thatโs sheโs classically trained and I can hear it. Looking forward to whatโs next.
6. Jay Allen (7.5/10) - A good country voice, canโt complain much about the audition besides male country not being my thing. I do appreciate that he expressed interest in alternative, hope to see him tap into that even slightly.
7. David Andrew (6.5/10) - Vocally he deserves to be much higher but the pacing of his performance was so weird and off, really affected how much I could enjoy him. Really talented, just wrong song.
8. Orlando Mendez (6/10) - I do like his tone but youโre not getting anywhere with that kind of song in my book. Try again next round.

Kate got real good feedback for her KO and Alyssa/Ian got a really good song choice that I think definitely suits them. Expecting high praise for their performances.
