To be fair to Muslims, I think it’s pretty apparent that quite a bit of non Muslims are antisemetic too. They’re just a group of people who have been heinously historically oppressed. Which I think is part of the problem right now, tbh. Israel is the only example of an oppressed group winning and gaining power over their oppressors. Typically when oppressed groups win, they simply become less oppressed. and I don’t think the world knows what to do with that. A lot of time when defending Palestine, people just ignore the fact that leaders would like to kill all the Jews, and that Jews have a reason to respond harshly to that given their history..but it’s paired with “they are much stronger, so at what point are they in the wrong…” (And Bibi and the Likuid party are currently being assholes, but that doesn’t negate the “kill all the Jews” goal) and, beyond antisemitism..I do think that’s why people are pulled to this conflict,

Bill is 100% correct. Is it sad that people got displaced? Yes. It’s always sad. But that was 75 years ago. A significant portion of Israel’s population was ethnically cleansed, moved on and became citizens of Israel. meanwhile, Palestinian leaders have refused a two state solution, and sold the dream of from the river to the sea to their citizens so people didn’t take Jordanian/Egyptian citizenship when they had the chance. They also refuse to even try to become citizens of Israel, which Israel does actually allow. (They can apply for citizenship, and Israel takes about 40% of them) as for refugees, again - I doubt they want to come. But tbh, I would be okay with taking families after background checks (no Hamas affiliation, obviously) yes, a high percentage has been brainwashed, but they also need help.

believe it or not, CA has a lot of conservatives. Yes, it’s overwhelmingly Dems, but CA is a big state. He’s also pissed off a lot of the wealthier people in CA. but you’re right. Conservatives were gonna side with DeSantis while Liberals would side with Gavin because both are policy guys.

I thought Gavin killed him, and he had to debate Hannity too. liberal donors aren’t giving Haley anything. She’s far more terrifying than anyone else - because she’d win in a general. Billionaires are though. She’s the “not Trump” pick. It’s not going to work though, unless Trump does actually go to Prison. as for Palestine/Israel - you can absolutely support Israel’s right to exist and Jewish people - and Palestinians and think Bibi needs to go. what you can’t do is support Palestinians and Hamas - which is what has happened. They aren’t “freedom fighters” they are monsters. Israel doesn’t appear to care how many civilians they kill - Hamas WANTS dead Palestinians. They shoot at their own people as they are fleeing bombs because they want them as shields and propaganda numbers. They steal fuel from hospitals - they put their military bases in places that are supposed to be safe for civilians. They murder Palestinians if they talk to anyone from the IDF. (They just killed that little old man asking an IDF soldier for directions..) Hamas is a far bigger threat to Palestinians than they are to Israelis..

information should at least be fact checked. Because I agree, it’s been a major source of the issue. that being said, political science/history/sociology etc has too. Colleges have been teaching about systemic racism - important and necessary. And also teaching world history through a settler/colonial lens - and somehow Israel got labeled the colonizer. (ie, colleges see them as the oppressor.) add in the lack of education about the Jewish people, (including financial stereotype) and you have a bunch of young college kids believing the whole world functions the same way America does; that Jews are the big bad white oppressor colonizer..and therefore are in the complete wrong and there is no need for further information about the subject. No. Just scream genocidal slogans, protest Jewish businesses, bludgeon elderly Jewish people to death, and then deny you are doing any such thing… And people have been incapable of nuance for a while now. it’s possible to separate Hamas from Palestinians. It’s possible to separate Bibi’s politics. It’s possible to believe that both groups of people have the right to exist and live, and it’s possible to criticize both. There is no reason to present this as evil white oppressor/brown oppressed victims. (Btw, I’m gonna need everyone to figure out they’re the same damn race )

Then TikTok and other social media has pushed false narratives to make things more volatile. “Genocide Joe” is no different than “Crooked Hillary” - it’s just propaganda aimed at a different group. I really feel for Jewish students. America is one of the only countries with a large population of Jews that doesn’t have a history of extreme systemic oppression and persecution against them. and yet, “the Jews are evil, corrupt, too powerful and they need to go” is literally a tale as old as time - and a narrative that always leads to something awful. There is a clear policy and ideological differences. There is no difference between the alternative fact seeking/conspiracy theorists hateful MAGA and DSA.

I think the majority of Republican primary voters is Maga/Trump but Nikki would do better than them in the general because the GOP voters fall in line, and she’d repress left votes being woke isn’t negative, but what happens is there is a segment of the left that likes to cosplay oppression, apply no nuance or logic, use buzzwords they don’t understand, and center themselves. They took over and ruined BLM, Me Too, and now Palestine/Israel. what that has led to is canceling people who made a comment ten years ago, but also calling for genocide and being pro terrorist organizations. I really hoped Biden would calm everyone down because he’s so boring and non controversial. Ironically, it feels like Maga has calmed down a bit, but now we have a radicalization on the left. I just want people to act normal.

she’s smartly branded herself as the moderate or sensible. there are a lot of moderate to right leaning people (women especially) who are disgusted at Trump and DeSantis, but would absolutely vote for Haley. She has a far right record, so Republicans won’t refuse to vote for her (she isn’t actually moderate) because Haley has painted herself as moderate, and not far right (like Trump and DeSantis), she won’t scare Gen Z into voting the way the other two will. It’s the direction DeSantis should have gone in, but instead he tried to out far right Trump, and he doesn’t have the stans or charisma to beat Trump at his own game. edit: I’ve seen those videos. The intense antisemitism on certain segments of the left is disgusting. Absolutely disgusting. We now have a MAGA left, and horse shoe theory stands.. Biden wouldn’t take action against free speech in general, but he has started speaking out against antisemitism and islamaphobia - both (unsurprisingly) on the rise here.

I said it a year ago. Dems aren’t afraid of Trump or DeSantis, Joe has a good shot against both - but if Haley gets the nomination she’s going to beat Biden.

Biden is my third favorite president in my lifetime, but if I’m being honest he’s been objectively the best. he’s old (so is Donald though), and that’s the only thing against him - but he’s earned the right to run again. He also consistently outperforms voting expectations. The true silent majority is the one that voted for uncle Joe. DeSantis is all the crazy of Donald with none of the charisma. And he picked the wrong battle with Disney. Demonizing LGBTQ people was also not the best choice. The reality is, of any oppressed group…moderates and young GOP voters are supportive of LGBTQ folks. An overwhelming majority of voters support gay marriage..and the reality is they aren’t really the bogeyman. Most people know someone gay (and at this point someone trans) and like them. I don’t think Haley can win the GOP nomination, but she’s the only one currently running that can beat Joe. Again - people are sick of the crazy. The GOP doesn’t win from voter engagement, they win from voter suppression. She’s wishy washy and stands for nothing, but she’d suck white women voters away from Uncle Joe and wouldn’t inspire Gen Z to go out and vote against her because compared to the other two - she presents as reasonable. Edit: I agree with you about Gavin. At some point I absolutely think he’ll be President and we’ll be much better for it. But not this time around.

I said it a couple months ago - Nikki Haley is the biggest threat to Biden. Trump is probably going to get indicted 3 more times (Jan 6, Racketeering, Georgia electorals), and DeSantis has shown he’s just as crazy as Trump - and Disney will absolutely obliterate him. a majority of the population is sick of the crazy. Biden’s boring nature vs one of those two will keep the GOP home.

No one wanted to be the first to indict him, everyone will want to be the second. He’s got a lot more potential criminal cases coming. DeSantis has to be breathing a sigh of relief. He was about to be laughed out of running because of the Disney situation. Now all eyes are off him for the moment.

Could be a gimmick. It’s strange that he knows he’ll be indicted? Like if that’s true, how is he not on a plane to Russia? (Unless Daddy Putin is mad???) you’d think they’d do it faster. Though NYC has clearly been very close to an indictment for a while. on the other side, he likes inciting violence on his name, and that’s what he’s doing now. So we’ll see.

Kari Lake thinks she won also, she didn’t realize that if you hold one position in government that you can still be picked for VP.. I could be wrong, but I think Nikki Haley is far more of a threat to Biden than either Donald or meatball. the reality is that at this point it’s unlikely that Donald’s supporters will jump to meatball, but that isn’t the issue. the issue is meatball brings out the same fear with younger liberals that Trump does. Gen Z cancelled out Boomers last time. If they do that again, the GOP will need different demographics to skew their way. Which meatball won’t get. Meanwhile, Haley could probably snag some of the moderate ww vote. She’s also not seen as quite the same level as lunatic as Donald and Meatball (even though she absolutely is) by Gen Z, which might depress their vote a tad. the question is whether or not she can make it out of the GOP primary,

He had to yell because the GOP heckled the president during a speech. (Seriously, y’all don’t find them embarrassing?) he backed them into a corner and played them with his speech. It was fantastic.
