+sinycalone Posted March 15 Share Posted March 15 The team used to be called the Johnstown Jets and they (and their stadium)were used as a model for the team in Slap Shot. However, the players in the movie were old timers for the most part. Imagine getting paid to appear in the movie -- for doing just what you love to do! If you've followed hockey for a lot of years...just saying the words Hanson Brothers to other fans brings back immediate memories of this film.
