Understandable. If/when she moves forward to Top 20, Iโ€™m hoping she has the option/choose songs that are โ€œFacebook friendlyโ€ so the viewers of fb are more familiar with and relate to because that can def help her voting wise. In all fairness, I donโ€™t think the fb viewers (which mostly comprises of ppl in their mid 30s and over) are familiar with Tate McRae as an artist nor relate to any of her songs as theyโ€™re considered teenyboppers. I think Hailey picking songs from artists like Miley, Sara Bareilles, or Lauren Daigle could really help her!ย

Very good point! Perhaps she should pick Minivan bait for now when the votes really counts and save the Youtube pop songs like Tate McRae, Billie Eilish for the finale instead like she did on The Voice. She saved that for the finale and sang Minivan friendly songs during the voting rounds when it mattered. I hope she moves forward as well.ย

  2. Something I noticed about Hailey on Idol is the fact that she seems to be picking songs she would most likely record for an album than songs that Minivan would like because her The Voice fans seems to like her song choices. It's just not Minivan bait but are the type of songs she would record for an album. I think that makes her very marketable and she should probably stick with that if she's comfortable with it. If she isn't happy with her song choices, then maybe they aren't for her. She does strike me as the type of artist who would sing a Tate McRae song.

  3. 1. Val T. Webb - I love her song choice for her! She crushed her performance to high heavens and gave the best performance of the season and her best performance of the night. I loved everything she did with the song and she was pitch perfect and flawless through the whole song. She deserved to be in the finale. Her performance reminded me of Wendy's knockout. John made a mistake here. He could have gotten her into the finale the same way he got Jershika into the finale.

    ย

    2. Asher HaVon - Perfect song for Asher and this was the best cover of this song I've heard so far. Perfect way for Asher to have a breakout moment and giving us everything. This was his best performance.

    ย

    3. Josh Sanders - I love his tone! He reminds me of Travis Tritt with a bigger range. He's also right up there with Adam Wakefield, Jake Hoot, and Sundance Head. Perfect song to give him a big moment. Also loved the long note he went for at the end. I wouldn't be shocked if he won the show.

    ย

    4. Anya True - This was honestly Anya's best performance to date. That was really magical and I felt so connected with her and the song. She's really growing and living up to her potential. She deserves to be in the top 12.

    ย

    5. Olivia Rubini - This was a stunning performance and she picked a great song choice. Beautiful job!

    ย

    6. Nathan Chester - I love this song choice for Nathan! It was right in his wheelhouse and he delivered that stunningly.ย

    ย

    7. Tae Lewis - This dude is fantastic. His style reminds me of Darius Rucker in a way and I would love for him to do one of his songs. Loved his performance as well.

    ย

    8. Frank Garcia - I don't know this song well as I don't listen to this type of music, but I loved what I heard. It was a bit strange at first but it was stunning. I loved the opera sound in his tone and his vibrato.

    ย

    9. Kyle Schuesler - This was a great song for him and he did an amazing job with it beautifully,

    ย

    10. Serenity Arce - She chose a great song and she delivered it emotionally. I do want more vocals from her that she showed in the blinds and battles but still fantastic.ย

    ย

    11. Dani Stacy - I love her tone and style, but this was the wrong song for her. She did great with what she got. I would have preferred her singing R&B songs which is her genre. This also wasn't her best vocally either.ย

    ย

    12. Ashley Bryant - She has a great voice and this was her best song choice so far, It was very good but she needed to take more risks. At least she didn't attempt Carrie, Kelly, or Celine in the knockouts.ย

KAYKO - How To Live Without You by Himself - 8.7

Nya - The Best by Tina Turner - 10

Quintavious - Something in the Water by Carrie Underwood - 8.8

KB Richens - Heaven by Bryan Adams - 9

Will Moseley - (Sittin' On) The Dock of the Bay by Otis Redding - 9

McKenna Faith Breinholt - The Story by Brandi Carlile - 10

  6. 1. Abi Carter - Best performance of the season and her best performance to date! She chose a perfect song choice for her. Loved how she started off with the piano to build up the drama and got up afterwards. Her belts were so powerful and flawless. That is how you give a performance! That was just perfection and flawless. She can sing the phonebook and I would not be disappointed. Just give her the crown already.

    ย

    2. McKenna Breinholt - Perfect song choice for her voice and she does sound a lot like Joni Mitchell. I loved what she did with the song and she made it her own. I also loved her high notes she went for as well. That was stunning!

    ย

    3. Julia Gagnon - I loved this song choice for Julia and she slayed that! Loved how she started off slow to build up the drama and then went for the big notes that was needed. She is a powerhouse. That was fantastic!ย

    ย

    4. Nya - She slayed that song! Perfect song for her and she reminds me of Nariyella. I'd love to hear her take on Aretha, Tina, and Whitney. She has a fantastic range that made me stand up.

    ย

    5. Hailey Mia - Loved her song choice and she slayed the heck out of that song. I loved that better than the original ngl. She brought the right amount of energy that the song needed and her vocals were so powerful. I felt that.

    ย

    6. Jayna Elise - Great song choice! Kennedy put this song to rest though. Jayna did a fantastic job with the song. I do think she could have brought more energy to the song that Kennedy brought and showed some moon walks and dance moves.ย

    ย

    7. KB Richens - This wasn't her best performance and I would prefer a different song. Though I do think she still gave a lovely performance and she was connected to the song. She's not going to belt a song and she understood that. I think she's still a favorite to go far.

    ย

    8. Quintavious - I'm still not sure if this song choice will help him move forward because it's a Carrie Underwood song and I have high expectations. He did slay the song regardless and nailed the high notes that matched with Carrie's. Some another girl should take notes from this.

    ย

    9. Will Moseley - He is a solid vocalist who knows how to connect to the song. I think if he continues having a solid performance, he could make the finale. I would have liked a different song for him but he did great regardless.ย

    ย

    10. Kayko - He is a very talented songwriter and arranger. I really loved the way he arranged the song to his own and made the song his own. I felt connected to the song and his tone is so wonderful. He really reminds me of Fritz honestly. I'd like to see him take on an uptempo song and slow it down.

    ย

    11. Jordan Anthony - He did a great job with the song choice, but I think he could go a little higher with his range.

    ย

    12. Blake Proehl - This was by far the worst performance of the night. He looked so uncomfortable and awkward on stage like he wasn't sure what to do. I think he's better off just standing still with a guitar or sitting down on a stool.

  7. For the guys:

    1. Odell Bunton Jr. - Best male vocalist so far this season! He has a lot of soul and heart. His runs and high notes were so on point. That was everything!ย

    2. Will Mosely - He is by far the best male country vocalist this season. He has a lot of experience and is really smart with his song choices. He always delivers great performances.ย

    3. Mackenzie Sol - He slayed both songs tonight! I loved him on the second song the best, and he showed so much emotions and his runs were beautiful.ย

    4. Roman Collins - I loved the churchy vibes he brought to the song. That was honestly everything! He's got great stage presence, and I could see him going far if he picks smart song choices.

    5. Ajii - He is so good! I wasn't crazy about the song choice for him, but he went all out and showed a lot of range. He did a great job with it.

    6. Jordan Anthony - He did a great job with this song even though Hailey and Frank sang this song better than Jordan did.ย

    7. Triston Harper - He is very good. He is authentic, likable, and charming. He is also improving a lot and knows how to convey the lyrics. He also has all the goods to become successful after Idol. He could win the show if Minivan continues supporting him.ย

    8. Jack Blocker - He's really improving, and he was really good. I am still having problems with his facial expressions as it's still distracting, but at least he's taking our advice on that.

    9. Blake Proehl - This was really boring honestly, and he is so dull. He is too much like Nick Fradiani. Why do I feel like he's gonna run away with the win?

    10. Quintavious Johnson - Another singer we didn't hear at all. What a shame.

    11. Kayko - We didn't hear him sing at all which makes me sad because he's really good.

    ย

    For the girls:

    1. Abi Carter - Best performance of the season in history that I have ever heard in my entire life honestly and her best performance of the season as well! I loved the song choice and that vocal of hers was everything. She did not sound sick at all. She sounded so flawless and perfect the whole performance. And she also hit the high notes as I expected. This is who she is as an artist. She can do no wrong. She's my number 1 favorite this season.

    2. Julia Gagnon - Big song choice but it's the type of song Julia would go for since she is a powerhouse vocalist. She sang this in the original key and slayed that throughout. I threw my shoes and my wigs were snatched. Big standing Ovation from me. She was flawless through the whole performance. I loved all of it.

    3. McKenna Breinholt - I love this song choice for McKenna! I thought that was my personal favorite performance from her so far. That was the first time I heard her belt and it sounded fantastic. I had to give her a standing Ovation for that. I felt every word she sang and felt the emotions.ย

    4. Emmy Russell - This was by far Emmy's best performance of the season. She was connected with the lyrics and sang with so much heart. I'm on board with her now. She's improving a lot.

    5. Hailey Mia - I hate that this was montaged. She sounded amazing in those few seconds though which I really loved.ย

    6. Jayna Brown - She was incredible! I thought she gave her strongest vocal here. Loved that she is improving. Great song choice for her.

    7. KB Richens - She did great with her first song, but she did better on the second song. I felt every word she was singing, and she sang it with so much emotions. That's how the song should be sung.

    8. Nya - She ate that song up. I wanted it to be longer.

    9. Mia Matthews - Great song for her and she made the song her own. Loved it.

    10. K-Blocks - She is weird and fun in a good way. I enjoyed that.ย

    11. Jennifer Jeffries - She has a beautiful tone and I'm a fan. She still needs to enunciate more.ย

    12. Kennedy Reid - Same with Elleigh.

    13. Elleigh Marie - We didn't hear her sing, so she stays here.

    ย

    For the eliminations:

    1. Ziggy Krassenberg - He slayed both songs and was robbed. I would have sent Kennedy home instead since she wasn't shown singing.

    2. Alyssa Raghu - She was good on her first song, but she did better on the second song. She just wasn't as good as KB was though.

AGREED! I think the song itself is a HUGE song and people donโ€™t understand thatโ€™s how itโ€™s supposed to sound! ABSOLUTELY KILLED IT!ย

Agreed and even Jennifer Hudson sang it in that way as well. One of the hardest songs in the world to pull off and Julia slayed it.ย

  9. Abi was incredible tonight! That was flawless! She does not sound sick at all. I have to be honest, but I thought that was her best performance of the season and the best performance of the season so far that I have ever heard in my entire life. Everything was perfect. I have no constructive criticisms to give her. It's impossible and her song choice? Yes ma'am! She served the high notes effortlessly and the emotions was spot on. She is gonna get the most views and likes on social media with that performance.ย
