I'm so bummed, did not see him going home this early, oh well, it's the voice lol

Agreed I didn't see it coming either. I'm glad he went out on a high note at least.

  2. Gene slayed his knockout tonight! I honestly loved his song choice for him and what he did with it. That has to be my favorite performance from Gene so far. I thought he was robbed but it is what it is. He's better off without the show.

  3. Unpopular but I thought Julia gave her best performance of the season and I personally loved her song choice for her. It's the type of song she would sing. I don't think Aretha was easier than that? But Julia's performance is in my top 3 favorite of the night honestly.

  5. 1. Abi Carter - Best performance of the season so far! Abi can sing the phonebook and I would instantly love it. She never disappoints and knows how to give wow moments. That was just perfection and flawless. I loved everything about this. She deserves to win the show. I love every single performances she does. She is someone I will never give constructive criticisms to. I fully expect her to get the most views and likes on Youtube.

    2. McKenna Faith Breinholt - This was a perfect song choice for McKenna and right in her lane. I love Joni! She gave us a moment and delivered her best performance of the season. I loved it. Flawless!

    3. Julia Gagnon - I freaking love this song choice! At first I was like oh no this is going to be bad until I heard Julia sing it. I am a huge fan of Fantastia and I am also a huge fan of Julia. Julia is a powerhouse vocalist who would take on hard songs. She should continue with that and she gave a fantastic performance. I felt every word she sang and she had me standing up and throwing my shoes. That was her best performance of the season! Flawless job! There is nothing I didn't like about this as I loved all of it.

    4. Emmy Russell - I loved this quite a lot and has been growing throughout. This was her best performance of the night. Katy needs to understand that Emmy is not going to belt if she's uncomfortable with it. Bob Dylan, Loretta Lynn, Joni Mitchell, etc are examples of artists that aren't belters. Emmy is not trying to be Whitney, Beyonce, Adele, Aretha, Celine, Tina, or Demi who are belters.

    5. Odell Bunton Jr. - Loved the song choice for him! He ate this up and slayed! That was flawless! I loved that.

    6. KB Richens - That was a really beautiful song and it was beautifully written. Loved the pauses she did there due to her breaking down which I know how that feels. But she still did amazing regardless.

    7. Roman Collins - Loved the song choice for him and he ate that song up! Loved the runs and the performance! Give me more of those runs!

    8. Nya - Great song choice for her! She ate this song up and I think this was her best performance of the night honestly. It wasn't as good as Clarkson Beckham or Kendra's but still amazing!

    9. Mia Matthews - Not a big fan of the song choice but Mia has great taste and she made the song her own. That was beautiful!

    10. Ajii - Loved this from Ajii! I think he's back to doing what he's comfortable with doing and giving us a really great performance. He deserves to move forward.

    11. Triston Harper - I'm honestly not a big fan of Triston but I appreciate what he is doing. He's solid every time and very talented. He keeps on growing on me and I always believe what he's singing. He's also a great songwriter as well.

    12. Will Moseley - Will is really talented and always solid. He makes it too easy that I would like to see him challenge himself. I'd love to see what he can do with something that he wouldn't make something so easy. I want a big moment from him.

    13. Kayko - He's a very talented singer and songwriter. Also a talented arranger. He had some moments that I didn't like which was the guitar playing as he's more comfortable with the piano. But he also had great moments in there that I loved.

    14. Jayna Elise - This song was too big and risky for Jayna but at least she has balls. She had some great moments in the song but there were parts of it I didn't like.

    15. Quintavious Johnson - Weird song choice for him honestly. There were parts where he kinda ate, and he added a lot of runs that I appreciate. Unfortunately I would have preferred him adding a lot of runs without oversinging it.

    16. Kennedy Reid - She's beautiful without the wig, loved the song for her. Unfortunately she didn't nail the song like I was hoping. She was very pitchy but had some pretty good moments. I needed more.

    17. Mackenzie Sol - Not his best but he had some beautiful parts in the song. He deserves another shot. Great song but I needed more.

    18. Jordan Anthony - This wasn't his best. He did have a really good parts but he didn't have the range for the song which could hurt him.

    19. Jack Blocker - I didn't like the song for him. I found it kinda dull and it didn't work. I think going first will hurt his chances in votes as he will be forgotten. I've already forgotten as well.

    20. Jennifer Jeffries - This was the worst performance of the night honestly. She was having a lot of enunciation problems here which made it hard to understand. I am a fan of her tone but this was bad.

Glad she is staying in her own lane too 🙂 I agree we need all kinds of singers, not just belters and perfect vocals. Joni Mitchell, Carly Simon and more - they just rely on authenticity and connection, and that’s where the magic is.

Definitely agree! That is something Katy doesn't understand at all.

  7. Emmy slayed and gave her best performance of the season! Loretta would be so proud of her. I'm glad she's not taking Katy's advice because she isn't going to belt. Loretta wasn't a belter, and neither was Bob Dylan. She's not going to be Whitney, Celine, Aretha, Adele, Beyonce, Tina, or Demi.

  8. Abi slayed as always! Every time she's on, she gives the best performances of the season and her best. Again this was her best performance of the season. Everything about that performance was perfect and flawless. I love that about Abi.

The very first thing she did after she left The Voice was to record a cover of that song, and put it on YouTube, and all of the streaming services. She needed songs that connect with the broader audience (median age roughly 60). She did not succeed in doing that in any of the rounds. I just don’t think she understands this at this point.

I think she was probably better off picking Minivan friendly songs because her song choices so far have been songs she would most likely record for an album. Minivan had no clue what any of the songs Hailey sang. They don't listen to pop music at all. Hailey seems to be a Billie Eilish or Tate McRae type of artist but on the show like Idol, she needed to be strategic. She needed songs that Minivan and Youtubers would connect to. Maybe ballads are her main strengths? She had her breakout in playoff and instant save. If she had gotten songs like that, she would have fared better. I think song choices unfortunately hurt her chances. Save the poppier type of songs for finale but do Minivan friendly songs during the voting rounds would have helped. I do wonder if some of her song choices weren't cleared by the artists hence the montages or maybe they only showed the good parts. She's still young right now.
