I assume you’re talking about the low notes? He can’t hit those, which is why his cover is in a higher key. It will be up to the audience to decide whether that’s acceptable. My guess is they’ll swallow it whole.

 

Jake is a decent singer, but there’s nothing distinctive about his voice. He’s a really good cover artist, but that’s about all I can say about him. It might be enough to win this season.

The low notes + the range. Trace has a big range (and a gorgeous voice at that). That said, I suspect you're right about the audience. Jake doesn't really do much for me, he isn't the vocalist that say a Sundance was, and I don't think he sells the story, or connects to it as well as even a Red or Chris K.

It amuses me how much this board likes him, I suspect if he was on team Blake they'd be calling him out as a generic one octave country singer (which he is).

The dislike on this board to Myracle is sort of odd? She's very solid vocally, she's had some interesting song choices. I'm not sure why the dislike?

I find John/the producers decision to move her out of country to be a bit baffling, but whatever. (btw in a live this past week with Kat, she confirmed Blake had been her top choice)

The vocal suffered from the emotion, but sometimes that works, and makes a song more powerful. This was one of those times.
