It's always slightly awkward at first when it looks like TPTB and I are on the same team.  Morgan is getting the royal treatment so far.  I should be conflicted about how that makes me feel but I'm not because I have followed Morgan long enough to know she deserves any break she gets X10.

Yeah ....the Maelyn comparison is a but much.  They both have excellent control of their instruments but they are quite different instruments.  Maybe a Flute vs a Saxophone kinda difference.

They are fun and entertaining....however many artists have to sacrifice to harmonize with other contestants with lesser range/skill.  My main take away is battles do not always separate one contestant from another in the interest of harmony.  So, I question the utility of battles in a competition*.

Morgan announced last night on her IG.  LOL! She used Camila's Bam Bam for the little clip. 

Queen's (almost) announcement lacks the common graphic everyone else is using but it appears joy and wine were involved.

She is a grown ass woman.   She can see past the charm.   Also, I'm sure she knows there is a small space for women in country music and you have to make your way without much hope of radio support.   Other genres are more supportive of women.  Why not get you some of that?

Btw, i listened again to the snippet of her singing and it doesn't really sound like she sang the word "Carolina" despite what the subtitles say. Any thoughts about what song she sang??

The more I listen the less sure I am what she is singing.

Interesting....I though I heard it several different ways before settling on Carolina.  "Carry On Yeah" was a close 2nd.  The clip was likely made to intrigue and not inform.

I ran across this video and thought...this would be a strategic song for Morgan....I mean the TV core audience is in the same zip code of the CMA audience.....Voice fans pretty much love Kelly so it gives TPTB something to talk about...Maybe a video call with Kelly....I don't think it's been done on The Voice...It's not too far from her wheelhouse.  Every angle helps.
