Frankly don't care about the whole 37-year-old female country singer can't win thing, I love Jacquie, and for me, she's a quintisential badass female classic rocker! That said, she held back a bit on that (which should please John) -- not necessarily a bad thing. Best of the night so far, of course.

Honestly, great song choice for Ms Monet. She sounded good on that. For me personally, Ms. Monet > Jordan Agree with John about the dial back thing though. They've got 2 mins to showcase themselves, so some think they need to throw the kitchen sink at it, lol I reckon someone like Kara is a case study in the effectiveness of the editorial tastefulness.

Honestly wouldn't mind a version of this from Bias this round or the next: Btw, Bias isn't bringing out a guitar this round apparently (not sure about Tanner), but I really think both of them should at least seriously think about it for the Top 12. Besides Huntley, they are the only two who could garner some of that supposed pro-WGWG vote.

Tanner apparently is not one for posting hints, if I'm not wrong. Maybe a bit overdone in the past (?), but not recently, I quite like this one for him:

Personally, I'd rather Kara stick to 90s R&B, current R&B (neo-soul, like H.E.R, Celeste, SZA, or even Doja-type disco-soul), or adjacent. That said, "Don't Speak" by an R&B contestant has been done before (not on this show though) to quite good effect. Kara has an equivalent skill set to Candace Boyd, imo, so with Gwen's coaching (it is her song after all), maybe a Kara version could better this: if we're straying from 90s R&B though, I think this would work better for Kara, and I'm lowkey obsessed with her excellent cover of it (plus, it's soul adjacent): Btw, for those interested, Kara actually has a rather good, rather large collection of covers on YT. Well worth checking out, imo, particularly if you're interested in predicting her next song choice(s). She's got quite a lot of familiar material (with runs mostly all mapped out pretty well already) to choose from.

Happy for Mara. Niall went for "energy". So sad for the rest, especially Alexa. Season is Naill's to lose, but that advancing 3 (like one other team) could suffer some vote splitting down the line. I would have advanced Alexa over Mara, BUT no easy or even correct choices there, tbh. Sigh...

Alexa = Huntley (alphabetical!) > Mara = Nini > Claudia = Julia All should advance, imo (or at least the top FOUR). This is brutal.

So far, LOVED them all (and love Alexa of course, but I think? : Huntley> Mara = Nini (alphabetical) > Claudia = Julia. No one below 8/10. Alexa already 9/10 ... so frickin' gorgeous!
