I agree with what the OP wrote. it was clear the 3 frontrunners and top vote getters where arthur, sam and francisco (if the social media metrics were correct) and the fact that francisco wasn't good or exciting with any of his top 5 performances, sam just passed him easily. also I do think that because the west coast couldn't watch and vote in real time was partly why the 3 guys from california didn't make the top 2. wish they would have revealed the results and who made it 5th, 4th and 3rd. I can actually see dillon passing francisco and making 3rd place after 2 weeks in a row having the best performances. dillon was never a frontrunner. more of a dark horse which at normal longer season could have made it even higher. also i never thought of arthur being the highest vote getter. and add to the fact that with julia gone, sam as the last girl will attract the votes of all those who want a girl to win.

guess you both missed the part where I wrote "keep her safe and isolated". there are ways to bring her to LA w/o taking risks with the pandemic. and I am sure money is not an issue for the show..

another option is that some of the stuff or the production could have come and be with Sam for that moment..

I actually felt bad for Sam not having anyone to celebrate with her. really idol!? couldn't afford to bring her grandmother and keep her safe and isolated so she can be with her!?

it was kind of anti-climatic at the end. there was no one to celebrate with sam in person and it seemed arthur's family thought he won.. also that awkward silence when the top 2 were announced.. no exit words for jonny, francisco and dillon? 

did they reveal the order of elimination? 5th, 4th, 3rd place?

if you still want to support Dillon, but his album from itunes store. currently it is at #46 on the singer/songwriter chart. but it needs to get higher if you want it to appear on the general chart.

also stream his music on both spotify and you tube at his official channel. spotify does count streams as sales. 

he still a winner in my eyes. and his performances were the best this week as well. 

also go to kelly&ryan site to vote for the encore performance. he deserves that gig. 

vote for Dillon!

wish they can reprise their original songs from hollywood week. jonny's and dillon's songs are particularly good.

been waiting for your recap. and like always don't agree with the ranking. I don't think jonny was the best and I didn't like his second song. arthur and dillon gave the best performances this week and the only to have two great performances while everyone else had mixed night with only 1 good performance. both dillon and arthur were just 2 levels above the others this week.  

Ignoring the top 5 spoilers, though, francisco can have an edge over arthur if he reprises his original from hollywood week and steal the win from him. sam doesn't have any chance at winning.  these are the top 3 vote getters if social media meter is an indication. jonny and dillon are left fighting for the 5th and 4th place. the two leaving are julia and louis just based on their performances this week. they were the weakest.  

an honorary mention to margie mays video blogs. maybe idol should hire her as field correspondence.

Dillon can reprise his original Tierra Dulce that he did during hollywood week. probably the best original song done this season (along with lauren masciti's original).

as A fan of dillon's music and as much as I enjoy watching him, I don't think he'll win either and I don't want him to win. top 5 is the maximum he can get and I am happy with it. the last thing I want him is to end like maddie or laine.. I just hope he continues to make music and plan to buy his album out as soon as the show is done.

I hope the video on idol facebook/instagram  page is a hint he's doing a song from that movie. hopefully an Elvis song. he did a beautiful rendition of suspicious minds on his instagram a couple of weeks ago.

you can add jonny,  sophia and julia. they are all the same boring piano pop ballad singers that sound the same. 

dillon might be doing a song from Lilo and Stitch if spoilers are correct and  if the instagram AI video was a hint.. probably one of the Elvis songs.
